I recommend placing the resource card piles in the Shape of an ‘X’ and the crafting cards in the spaces in between, to make the shape of a crafting grid
The resource piles under their top cards should be face down to avoid accidental reveals and future planning. TNT when exposed does not activate. Only Creepers do. However when TNT is *mined* using one of your actions, then it will activate immediately (like in the game).
The axe doesn't double your wood it just counts as 2 extra wood when crafting something. So the part where u needed 5 wood and you used the 3 wood resource plus the axe to double it you actually add 2 to the the 3 and it still works giving you 5 wood
Bonnie Perry They may have changed the instructions in the last year to make it different. You can take a look at the instructions that I have linked in the description of video and see if yours are the same or have been updated. No big deal either way. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!Today was my birthday and I was given this as a gift. I didn’t know how it worked so I depended on RUclips.Found this video and turns out it was really helpful. You just earned yourselves a subscriber!
The -1 Card is the Shovel and you play it against another player to make them lose/skip one of their actions on their next turn. The Red Line card is the Hoe and is used to Clear the Top Card off of every Pile.
Great demo. And good link to the rules. I just order this game. Good gateway game for kids to move one step closer to play Splendor with me :) I also notice that in the rules the 2-wood on the "Tool power"-side. It say that it is worth 2 woods, not double the woods. This would not have changed the game outcome in your demo.
hahaha I was looking at this and thinking hmmmm Splendor jr. Looks like you said this 5 years ago, did you achieve your goal? You probably got the kids on Gloomhaven by now xD
Thank you soo much I was trying to figure it out and read the directions but seeing it and how you set up/display the cards is SO much easier!! So thanks guy and btw you were VERY easy to follow and he seems like a very smart kid. Good job dad!! Good job Lance!!!
in the 1st round, since Lance had used his 1st action to get 2 wood blocks, couldn't he just pick up the crafting item and discard his wood to craft the item?
That particular crafting card would have needed stone as well to be able to craft the item. If it would have just needed the wood, then yes, that would have worked.
You have to use a Wild Card as only one resource type. If your going to use it as Wood for instance, you have to use it as All Wood and not 2 Wood and 1 Stone. Merry Christmas!!
Wow, that's funny.. , that's the reason I posted them. It's about impossible to figure out this game without the instructions and we had lost ours for a while.. Good Luck and keep your homework safe from the dog.
The downloaded instructions are pretty clear on everything except the use of the hoe card. What do you do with the cards you clear? Are they discarded or are they now a part of your resources? I would think they become a part of your resources since the hoe is a tool. There were some errors in your instructional video but if people watch the video and go back and read the instructions, the video will help them have a a better understanding. Your video was correct according to the instructions when playing the TNT card. the card is to be played immediately. My son lost his instructions before I had a chance to help him play it. Thanks for the video.
Honeybunches1913 - They go in to the discard pile. They wouldnt make a 2 resource tool that gains you 4. There's also a picture on the card that shows them going to the discard pile lol The TNT part was wrong. When you *MINE* the TNT it will activate immediately (like in the game) not when you *expose* it like with the Creepers.
Good Demo play, but it takes an action to mine the TNT. Just because you uncover the TNT doesn't mean you have to play it. If you mine it, you play it immediately. With the creeper, if it gets uncovered, it gets played right way, and not counted as an action.
+Sir Ernest Bob Thank you for the Feedback. I took another look at the rules and you are correct. This was our first day playing the game. It will probably be even more fun now that we know that you have to use an action to "mine" the TNT.
lunch box - Yeah you flip the one under up. The point of having them face down is because if someone is grabbing a card and accidentally sees the next few cards under they can plan ahead. Like if everyone saw a creeper was next they would just avoid mining that pile.
This was so helpful. Thank you! I have a question that I can't seem to find in the instructions: If I have a crafted a sword card that prevents me from having to discard a Resource Card when a Creeper is exposed, when I use that card, do I then discard it? Or do I keep it? and can I use it again? If I discard it, I'm discarding 3 points. I'd rather give up a 1pt Wood Resource card. Same for the other Tool Powers: If I use a shovel and prevent another player from taking a second action, do I discard it? or can I use it again and again? Fun game and the mindcraft-loving kids dig it. Just want to be clear on the rule. Thanks for any input you have. And Merry Christmas!
I used the section on "Using Tools" and this video on figuring on how to apply tools. You keep used tools (so no on discarding it). It is only one time use. When a person crafts a Tool, that person should flip it from the Brown/Ingredient side to the Gray/Power side Then when you have used the power then flip back to Brown/Ingredient side.
Well it says that you keep your tool when using your tool power, just flip the card upside down to show your opponent that you've already used the power for that tool and can't use it again
thx thesixsims for helping me know how to play because today my cousin bought the minecraft card game? and we were so confused with your help you helped me know how to play
It's really a minor thing, but I don't understand why the rules state that the ''ONE extra crafting card'' must be automatically discarded at the beginning... It literally has NO effect/incidence on the game, if one of the crafting piles has '1' more card. Really. Absolutely none. Players can pick from ANY pile, so there's no good reason to set that as a rule other than to make the players create a 'place' for discarded cards... like the game thinks people are dumb and can't point a place on the table by themselves ?
honestly i thought you would need a pickaxe to mine for iron or diamond but i see you just pick it up, doesn't seem as interesting anymore. thanks anyways
I recommend placing the resource card piles in the Shape of an ‘X’ and the crafting cards in the spaces in between, to make the shape of a crafting grid
its the person that MINES the tnt get to keep 2 of the top cards, not the person that uncovered it

Personally, I don't over the tool until I use it, so I can keep track of which ones I've used (and therefore no longer usable) and haven't used.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!Today was my birthday and I was given this as a gift. I didn’t know how it worked so I depended on RUclips.Found this video and turns out it was really helpful. You just earned yourselves a subscriber!
Chick ens Thank you for watching and subscribing! And Happy Birthday!
TheSixSims No problem!
What does the -1 mean and the other one with the red line thingy?
The -1 Card is the Shovel and you play it against another player to make them lose/skip one of their actions on their next turn. The Red Line card is the Hoe and is used to Clear the Top Card off of every Pile.
Thanks for the video. Saw this at Wal-Mart today and was curious about the gameplay. May pick it up sometime.
I flip the resourse cards so you cant see them and when i pick one up i dont show it to the other player
Thanks you this helped a lot I got the same thing for Christmas and I had no close how to play it
You are welcome. Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!
If you there is a creeper exposed, you can use your sword if you want to to not give a resource anymore, but the other player has to

not the one in reserve, the one flipped up in the pick up pile, it was a wooden Hoe that took 2 wood
You are right, he could have done that instead.
What does it mea when not to split the wild cards?
You have to use a Wild Card as only one resource type. If your going to use it as Wood for instance, you have to use it as All Wood and not 2 Wood and 1 Stone. Merry Christmas!!
Thank you for posting the link to instructions - the dog ate ours, for real. 😉
Wow, that's funny.. , that's the reason I posted them. It's about impossible to figure out this game without the instructions and we had lost ours for a while.. Good Luck and keep your homework safe from the dog.
Legit, that's what happened to my instructions too.
Thanks guys for the all information! I would like to see another raund.
I remember me my sister and brother bought this a while ago and I wanted to start playing it with them again but forgot how
thanks for the demo looks fun going to buy it tomorrow. great video.

Thanks! Very helpful to just get us going. We will get the details down over next few games.
i know how to play this game and i remember i was in school and my friends and i were playing this game and we got so distracted that we missed class
Thanks for the tutorial. My son and I just watched it and played. I won!
Yay good job!
it helps alot thank you SixSims
thanks for the great tutorial on the game, me and the kids really enjoy playing.
We are glad you liked it. Merry Christmas!

You are welcome! Maybe you will have more of a fighting chance to win!
+Sir Ernest Bob
I added some annotations to the video for future viewers to make sure they know how the TNT should be played.
How much cards do u deal out for the crafting and resources?
You deal out the crafting cards into 4 equal piles and the resource cards into 5 equal piles. Check out video starting at 2:15
@@TheSixSims oh ok thanks. I really appreciate it.👍💪
Thx
Thank you for making this sweet video!
Thanks for the Tutorial!
Thank you, I just got it at 4 in the morning and I was so confused. I thought for multi-player they had to have their own deck.Thank You so much!
Can you reserve more than 1 card? Doesn't say this in the instructions
cool video. helped us out. cheers.
Ty
the resource cards should be face down.
You can probably play it either way. The instructions just say to deal them into 5 piles and turn them so that they are Face up.
TheSixSims the crafting cards are face up only the top card on the resource piles should be face up
Magick Jukebox it doesn't
What, Is The Color, Of Night? And when u take the top one do u flip up the one under if so why not just have them all face up
lunch box - Yeah you flip the one under up. The point of having them face down is because if someone is grabbing a card and accidentally sees the next few cards under they can plan ahead. Like if everyone saw a creeper was next they would just avoid mining that pile.

Oh Right! Thanks!
Well it says that you keep your tool when using your tool power, just flip the card upside down to show your opponent that you've already used the power for that tool and can't use it again
Justin Juknelis when that happens, you can keep the points but you can't use it again
What does the how do!!!
u can take the top card off of every resource pile
Spice and put them in the discard pile no where does it say you can keep them
Thx you for helping me
Thank you sixsims
thx thesixsims for helping me know how to play because today my cousin bought the minecraft card game? and we were so confused with your help you helped me know how to play
Your welcome. Thank you for commenting.
When you use the tool, you still count the points. You do not count the points when a card is in reserve, since you have not bought the crafted item.
EpiK Falcon same
Ninja 981 when you reserve the card, you don't get the points, you just reserve it. But when it is faced down, you can still keep the points
When I stop the video everything becomes pink
Great video, thank you. Now can you do a video on how to play rock, paper, scissors? 😜
Thanks for the video. ☺
Thank you for watching. Hopefully it helped.
Timothy DeVoll :)
Everyone who is watching on a computer repeatedly spam the left arrow key at the beginning
I don't the reserve thing?
I have the game! I just got it today! It is so fun
Thank you so much I was confused when I bought it lol
THE CRAFTS. ARE. GONE

I own this game and that is not how to play at all.
Cool. Did yours come with different instructions?
Same for me.
Tankmaster 345fx it says to clear the top 5 cards. You don't get to keep them they get discarded
