I had been living at Palmdale for the last 11 years and I love it my house was new we chose the model that we want We are on the east side and nothing bad had happened I love the sunset, the sunrise are unique here 😍

I lived In Palmdale a few years. Don't live on east side. High crime due to high % of trailer trash. Better yet, don't live there at all. I have never encountered so much attitude per square mile. Began to think there was something in the water. I lived in the San Fernando Valley of L.A. for years and did not encounter all the wise guys, troublemakers, and all-around assholes who seemed to abound in Palmdale. Even though I like the desert, I moved back to L.A.

He forgot to mention about the traffic on the 14. Its like driving on the 405 now days. Every morning going south to LA theres at least 2-3 car accidents.
I take Angeles Forest Hwy to Big Tujunga cyn. The 14 is a deathtrap.
The Antelope Valley is north of Los Angeles we get every season in summer you fry and winter you freeze , Its known for the low price housing and as a realtor I will advise anyone to check out all the public records of crime and schools and such as a realtor we can not truly suggest anything but for you t o do your research also visit the local police department and speak to people you meet as you visit this area . And yes it is very windy here and alot of dust .
Exactly. OP's video says we don't get a Fall, but I beg to differ. During the Fall, I witnessed all my trees lose its leaves. In Palmdale, we get all 4 seasons. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...

It was an awesome year!
Grew up there and couldn’t wait to get out (left in the 90’s). My grandparents moved there after WW2 when it was a small working class town for aerospace and Edwards Air Force base. All of my family has left now because of crime and not wanting to have to deal with homeless person shit in their yards. Went back for a visit last year after not seeing it for 10 plus years. I was very sad at what the town has become.

That is so True Fall is non Existing!!! Literally Changes from Summer to Winter right after Halloween and in a week no more that 2 is already Winter.
I'd always lived near the beach where it barely ever got over 70 degrees or under 50 12 months a year. Moving to AV was quite a jolt weather wise. In mid October It just turns from 100 every day to 50. Or lower.

Thanks for the info. What's the best way to go about getting approved for an apartment if you're moving without finding a job first? I will have some savings, and enough to pre-pay a 6 month lease in full if needed, but if I can't find one with a 6 month lease does anyone have tips on how to go about the application process for a 1 year lease without being employed? I will be working on building up a small online business so I don't want to go into another 9 to 5.
1. There’s not a lot of opportunities in Palmdale unless if you’re in education or aerospace.
2. It’s very far away from Los Angeles.
3. It gets SO HOT here (check the night weather, it gets to be 80-90 degrees even after the sun goes down).
4. It’s pretty sketch at times, lots and lots of homeless people.
5. The trauma hospital here is terrible.
6. It’s just desert. No trees, wildlife, or green. Just dirt and Joshua trees. If that’s your thing, I respect that but man it’s just ugly out in Palmdale. I suggest looking into living somewhere else. The whole “it’s cheap to live in Palmdale” is not true anymore. It’s just as expensive to live here as it is to live down below.

I like the wind. It could down the afternoon. It isnt as bad as you might think. Some days it gets high, but usually it is a moderate wind.
The winter winds make it bitter cold with wind chill factor. But the summer winds mitigate the heat.
What are median house prices ?
It's called Palm-Gale. As in Gale force winds.

I'm looking to relocate to palmdale or Lancaster if hired for a job in Lancaster 🙏🏾. Any recommendations on best areas/apartments to live w/ modern amenities, grass, no snakes and dog friendly? I'd like to rent for 6 months then purchase.
Stay away from the urban east side of Palmdale. Try to rent on the westside, the suburban east side or the rural east or rural westsides. Consider renting in Acton if you can find a rental there.
How safe is the Harold area? You know where Sierra Highway and Barrel Spring Road cross.
no place in palmdale is really safe. There are more homeless and transients there than you can imagine. The grocery store chain Alberts has two full time security cops there.
@@gkprivate433 No the homeless problem is much less than in Los Angeles. West Palmdale is safe.
@@gkprivate433 Ok lol where are you getting this info from...? Nearly every large store has some security these days (especially during a pandemic, in case no one has noticed). There was a guard at the Seafood City I used to shop at in the SFV, it's the norm for large stores, and even smaller ones.
There is crime all over the AV areas, there are these little pockets that may be repeat areas, but I'm going to continue to defend Palmdale as a whole and not break it up in a "side of town", since I've had no major issues, nor have I heard any coworkers, or neighbors voice anything serious in the four yrs since moving here. So where exactly are you saying all these homeless & crimes are? I see the bulk of homeless at the library and some of Palmdale Blvd. I also see a lot by the Metro in Lancaster, & that library. Please say what streets/corners specifically so we all know.
Sierra highway has a lot of prostitution and drugs!

Hi Nick I'm looking to build an apartment in Palmdale but is it the right time to start?
It might be the right time. Amazon is going to open a delivery center later in the year and between plant 42 and Northrup I believe they are going to hire 2000 new employees this year. Palmdale is trying to grow right now and I heard a speech from the mayor saying they want development and are trying to remove roadblocks.

Just moved here about two months ago on the east side near the waterpark. the neighborhood seems ok, everyone on my block has over 3,000 sq foot house and over an acre of land. The wind caught me off guard and the dust and dirt. Luckily I work from home, so always someone here for security. My biggest problem is trying to figure out how to grow grass on my 1/2 acre back yard without going broke.
I just keep my front yard green. and my backyard is my veg farm. LOL

West side only! There are affordable homes on the west side
West side is the rich area while the east is so ghetto and horrible place to move. i live in the antelope valley and i would advise you to not move here. Crime rait is rising and all the section 8 welfare lazy mofos moved up here from LA. Get harrased by people asking for money at the gas stations and markets. I'd move elsewhere! I can't wait to get out of here!
@@lyndafall8818 While I agree with you on your West side recommendation, it isnt the "rich" side of town. Give me a break. Palmdlae is great. Don't put too much stock in that guys answer. He must live in the dump area.

i’m from Palmdale and there’s only the outdoor swap meet by 47th st east/pear blossom highway and the market in lancaster.

I always go to Ave D and 140th st W. They have amazing poppies there and it is usually empty. All my poppy pics are taken there!
How is the criminal rate?
This is a large area with a large population. I recommend going to realtor.com and they have a crime map overlay for the area you are looking at. It really depends on what areas you are interested in.
93551 westside is safe. Highly recommend it over east palmdale.
Crime rate is way less than Los Angeles because it's less crowded and a lot of working families that want to make it in buying their first home because anywhere else in California to purchase a home is ridiculous unless you make over 80k a year minimum and a lot cleaner than Los Angeles.

@David Villagrana Sage middle school. Their is a Mormon Church church across the street. I graduated from Paraclete High. Most of my friends graduated at Palmdale High.
@David Villagrana Well hey it could be worse when I was a kid in Palmdale, maybe it was because I went to school somewhere on the west side and the white kids outnumbered latinos there, and I got picked on, jumped once. I was still at that age where I didn't really see race, but getting jumped kinda makes things different. I was also from the time where it wasn't much of a choice to do the pledge of allegiance but I don't remember reciting it as much as I remember thinking these assholes are going to fuck with me at lunch.

Buying a house is an excellent way to invest your money especially compared to renting. Plus housing increases 6.25% last year.
