You should keep a few of them slide on shark bite ball valves on hand. I had a hot water rank problem a few weeks ago. Valve on the tank was seized. Turnd off the main valve for a minute cit the line put a shark bite balve on adw was able to keep the cold water going to the sinks and toilet
My $0.02 on the second flue is that possibly the original furnace was oil. Our old family home was oil and the ran the exhaust up the chimney. It may nto be good enough for a wood stove but, thats where your wett inspector comes in
Awesome video ! Only thing tho on those windows . Every j trim should be 45’ and also for the pieces by the windows cut the nailing strip a put it there so in won’t buckle in ! Get them to fix it . Keeps it tight against the j 😊
Siding looks like iron grey to me in the video. Also something to think about to help heat your basement is a Hybrid water heater. It will be more efficient and will help you heat your home.
I asked Kat what colour it looked like in the video, and she said it looks like gun metal grey. By the time the Reno's are finished it'll be a brand new house haha. Hopefully you don't have to move in 3 years. Cause that's a sweet spot to live!
Are'nt houses great!?...Your extra flue is likely an oil flue and does not meet todays code for wood burning appliance. If you remove the cap to view, you can see the depth of the surrounding insulation layer, 1" of insulation is older chimney for an oil flue. Wood requires 2" insulative layer. Also, from experience with water quality in a home I used to own on Barron Canyon, ensure the discharge or backwash from your salt water treatment system does not drain into your septic system. The salt kills the rotting action of the system and eventually clogs up the weepers....that evidently needs excating and replacement....in February! Fun times
Thanks for watching and liking the video, we appreciate you!
Any video you guys do are just keep them coming

Do they not have home inspections in Canada? You would’ve thought they would’ve caught this water problem
We do, and did. It's also why we got a significantly lower price.
They do but sometimes the owners don’t want one and you lose the sale.
@@MainvilleATV oh ok. Gotcha
Boo hoo! 😨😨😨

By the porch *
That might have been an oil line. We have a fireplace in one flue and the second flue was for the boiler.
Oh, I never thought of that!

Wondering if I pull the cap if I can get a larger 2 inch flue down. Thanks for the tips!
Blue
I have a Toyota tundra in that color it was a 2010 an the color was called SLATE METALLIC
I’d call it a Marine Dusk color. Our siding Is similar in color. Changes in different light!
Only thing missing was diesel
You bought "The Money Pit".
I disagree, we knew what this would take to get up to snuff and brought the purchase price down significantly from market value.
The colour looks like Iron Ore
Is that blue?
Awesome video and knowledge sharing! Thank you!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching.
