Another excellent tutorial. You REALLY jump right into the soul of this song and convert it to the mandolin so well, it sounds right at home as much as on George’s guitar in the original. Way to go Neal,( from N.C.).
I appreciate it so much - I think the mando gets to the bare essence of any song so well and just lays it out there. As always, thank you and have fun with this one :)
Hello. Barry here from London, England. I got my first mandolin today and found you. Great lesson and I'm off to a flying start. Look forward to learning more from you. Thank you.
Hi Barry ,thanks for your lesson you are a great teacher, clear concise, and well paced , I am new to the mandolin and you unravel its magic very well ,.i am watching your lesson from Cordoba province in Argentina ,mandolin really suits this place ..Thanks again Barry keep spreading your art mate .
Hi Ed - thanks for checking in from Argentina! I don’t get a lot of viewers from South America and am glad to meet you. My name is Neal, by the way and I’m up in Minneapolis in the US. Have a great day down there!
Really great and concise lessons.. I am just learning mandolin though I play guitar and find your lessons so easy to follow. Cheers from Oxtongue Lake Ontario.. just down the road from Algonquin park.
I've just came across your terrific channel so I'm a late comer to it. My wife bought me a a great wee mandolin (a Barnes & Mullins - Windbourne ..and that's all I know about it ) as a.surprise present. What a fun fantastic tune to learn as my surprise for her in return.👍 looking forward to learning it for her. .peace love n good health from Ayrshire Scotland✌
Hi there - Thanks so much for checking out the channel :) I hope it’s a ton of fun and your wife loves it! I always look up the places that people tell me that they’ve from and your town looks incredible - Cheers from Minneapolis, USA :)
Thanks for this tutorial and all your videos. I've been looking for music that's not bluegrass or old time for mandolin. I really like your content. I'm watching from Cleveland, Ohio.
Ahoi and hello from Switzerland, thank you for your great Tutorials, finaly i can lern this wonderfull "here comes the sun..." I`m a clinic Clown here in Zurich, and the children an the parents will love this melodie... best wishes, Linaz
Hey there, thanks so much for tuning in from Portland - you’re on the map! An arpeggio is just playing a chord one note at a time and can be as simple as holding down any chord and hitting the strings one at a time instead strumming all at once. Also, since it’s just three notes from the major scale, arpeggios appear in melodies all the time. If you’ve played the first three notes of the national anthem (Oh-O Say), it’s an arpeggio. But it’s important just because they contain the tones that make up the chord. Man, my right arm for some ☀️. March in Minneapolis is a bleak experience :)
Thanks. One of the best songs ever. I am attempting it, but it is a bit above my skill level right now. But I am enjoying it and will keep plugging away at it.
Hi Neal. Thanks again for doing this! I really appreciate it and all you are doing on your channel! I started learning this one tonight and it is really flowing. I have a Beatle Chord-Melody Set that I do and you have been a big part of that! Also, I learned "Ripple" from you too. I have played and sang that song in bands but now I have a nice chord-melody arrangement of it thanks to you!
Hey there, glad to hear it’s going well :) I sure appreciate all the support, great suggestions and mando enthusiasm in general! I don’t know what it is about these things, but it’s great that there’s other people out there that share my obsession with ‘em. Have a great one :)
I don't see this ideo when I log into your patreon page. Am I using it wrong? Great video. But I get confused at 9 minutes in when you start strumming. I'm not sure how to do that
@@ThomasKing-q2u - Hey bud :) I don’t think I’ve written this one out for the patreon. What I’ll do is go check out the 9 minute mark and make something for you to try and explain better what’s happening :)
Hi there - Thanks so much :) I haven’t written this one out yet, but, the good news is that this arrangement is pretty much straight out the Hal Leonard book, “Beatles for Solo Mandolin”. There are fantastic arrangements for many Beatles’ classics and is well worth looking into :)
@@brettgardner6005 - I’ve actually done that quite a few times with this book - I was just being lazy this time and wasn’t too worried about my $.09 :) There’s so many great arrangements in there though - you’ll have tons of fun if you picked it up!

George played it on acoustic guitar capoed at the 7th fret and multitracked it, so it already had some of that short scale mando feel originally.

Been watching from Portland, OR for a couple years now. Picking up what I can. Why is it important to learn arpeggios? Sun, sun, sun, here it comes.
