No need for any negativity here. These guys are still getting up there at nearly 80 years old giving people the time of their lives. Instead of giving up on life they are taking life to the max and still rocking like the Kings of rock they've always been. What will you be doing at 80?
Absolutely, I admire the fact that they're still out there rockin and rollin at that age and still sound as good or better as they did in the beginning.
@Steve David I saw them in Melbourne that same tour. Keef flicked out his guitar picks, went sailing over my head. Think of how many bands have come up to world acclaim, had a full career.. and then disappeared… even since that 94 tour. And these Stones keep rolling
I flew to St Louis for this last night purchasing a GA in Pit 2. Epic doesn’t do this justice. The Stones brought it and you need to see them on this tour. God almighty!
10000% Agree - I thought the crowd was a little soft on energy - everyone around us were sitting most of the show. Was awesome when the put the Cardinal Jersey in front of Ronnie - Fantastic show for sure.

Steve Jordan sounds absolutely amazing. No disrespect to Charlie whom we all loved but this guy has got a new energy for the band and a passion just like Charlie for the drums
Being a drummer myself, I know that no two drummers have the same feel, even on the simplest of beats…Steve is doing a grand job and the fact he has Charlie’s blessing is a great honor for him. Quite upsetting the negative criticism towards him. The comments regarding him being too loud is the out front sound engineers mixing.
Kenny H. - Bottom line is this: Charlie personally asked Steve to sit in for him before he passed. End of conversation. People need to get over themselves with the negative commentary towards Steve and/or the band.
Kenny H. I agree about the mixing. I was there last night and if you look at enough videos you'll hear what everyone heard last night, that at times Kieth's guitar almost drowned out Mick, and the mix between Sasha and Mick could be muddled. I don;t know if it's first night working out kinks or if adjusting for the Dome is that difficult. As far as Steve Jordan is concerned, Charlie's gone and he isn't coming back. You are 100% correct about how each drummer has a different feel, approach, I'd even say "ear", and I noticed Steve plays the same Gretch Jazzmaster kit Charlie played so he's going to stay true to the classic "Charlie" beat but of course slight differences, which is fine. Charlie knew how sick he was, and He'd known and played with Steve for decades. I'm sure Charlie would never want anyone else behind that kit other than Steve Jordan.
Mick is 78-years-old here (as in two years away from 80!), and Keith is 77. Sure, Mick doesn't move around like he did several decades ago, but he's still moving around like a madman. He's a freak of athletic nature!
Rock & Roll Gods, the undisputed Kings, still sounding GREAT after all these decades, I have nothing but love and respect for this guys, Stones keep on Rolling!!!
Probably an unpopular opinion, but from the videos I've seen Steve Jordan is really injecting some energy into the band. Already knew he was an amazing drummer from his time in the Winos with Keith. Charlie was amazing with a really unique sound, but its great to hear Steve add his power to these songs. Hes holding them together very well and seems to be pushing Keith to play as great as he possibly can. Pleasantly surprised with it all!
Exactly! And suprisingly he replays very fairly original drums lines of Charlie from 60's! Of course Mr. Watts was the original Stone, but Steve gives good energy to the songs! And he is bit too loud...
No he’s too loud and pounding the drums. Doesn’t help that Mick is absolutely flat. Yikes. Very rare for him. I want to hear the weaving guitars over pounding drums.
I was thinking the same thing! I’ve been a die hard Stones fan and Charlie was my idol for years. That said, his playing definitely fell off a bit over the past 20 years or so (as well it should, considering his age and all he had been through). Charlie was amazing, but I’ve always loved Steve Jordan’s work. He makes everyone he plus with sound better and this is no exception. I’m genuinely excited to hear the Stones again.
@Mark Ansoncartwright sure do remember that. I have been a Stone's fan since...oh wow...1964. Yep. Yep. Losing Charlie is really, really hard. So glad, at the last concert I saw them at Oracle, I hollered (for the fist time) "CHARLIE!!!!!!!!!!" Precognition or recognition. I dunno. Charlie almost knocked Mick through a window... Imagine! Charlie met Steve Jordan in 1978 at NBC when the Stones performed as musical guest. Steve was drummer with the House Band that Paul Schaeffer headed. Jordan invited Watts to his dressing room to watch the baseball game on tv. That was the beginning of their relationship. If you have access to Siriusxm...Jordan has conducted interviews with other musicians. He interviewed Watts as well Richards in separate interviews. Watch them if you can and find out more about them
With all respect for Charlie, but I think Steve Jordan has given The Stones some new fresh energy. The rhythm section of Darryl Jones and Steve Jordan is now a tight solid powerhouse.
Now watching them go out of the household to perform a music concert, I believe it's no different for their families to let soldiers go to war. Bravo Rolling Stones.... miss the sweet character charlie watt.
As a drummer of over 40 years, I believe Steve Jordan is a TERRIFIC replacement for Charlie Watts. Basic 4 piece setup, nothing fancy. To those of you who think otherwise, you obviously know NOTHING about drumming.
Yep, the best drummers are the ones who do the simple things consistently. I'm reminded of Stewart Copeland demonstrating a simple 4/4 beat for several minutes and saying "most drummers can't even do that".
When they're doing the warm ups for the concert Mick Jagger brought a long one of his grandchildren. There he was Mick a grandpa💞 telling his grandson to put another sweatshirt on it's too cold and you got to stay warm.
