- Sup guys! We are back with another DIY!
In this video we install an RTD short shifter into the 335i. This shifter has a super racecar feel to it and is extremely precise. There used to be problems shifting from 1st to 2nd at high rpm and this shifter remedied that completely.

What did you guys not like about what appears to be the BMS/Shifteck Shifter?
It seems like there's a lot of resistance between gears with the RTD one, he's really slamming em.
I'm thinking that linkage makes a big difference. BMS has a similar linkage available for their shifter on the website.
short shifters are kinda just like that, had one on my previous audi. drove a really short throw wrx earlier this week and have always noticed you just naturally have to shift them a little harder because of how stiff they can become
Is your new rtd shifter noisy? I can hear a lot of clutch chatter with oem clutch… and even more now with spec clutch.

Rtd shifters are amazing its really good i had the chance to get one on my e82 and it was perfect
mohammad aljaafari was yours loud while driving? Seems to vibrate a lot but maybe that’s normal
Budget Bimmers actully no it wasn't loud and never vibrate its really quiet and smooth , i think the reason why its loud with you you didnt put back the sponge thing back under the leather so you will hear the noise from your gearbox
I actually just replaced all that stuff so hopefully that helps. It was kinda cool hearing my wastegate dump through the shift boot 😂
Budget Bimmers i have a special requist please can you do a full video about instaling idrive kit with screen and controler to non idrive car ( i have e82 135i and no idrive and i've got the kit i want to install it to my car so wanna know how )

Did you not use the OE rubber to seal the hole?
Did you have to grease the moving parts of the shifter? Mine is squeaky lo

I saw in an old video you had UUC transmission mounts. Is the old short shifter from UUC as well? I'm just curious why you thought it was junk.

Cause if I try to shift at 6000rpm into 2nd, my car wont let me, I have to give it a second, as in I cant just bang it into gear which sucks.
G Gill correct, it fixed that problem exactly. It was super annoying

Also poly trans bushings will help that as well if you dont want a solid mounted shifter.

Will this work on the all wheel drive 08 335xi
Did you ever replace that axle? It's only going to get worse and start making noise then shoot the ball bearings out the casing. I've never seen those bolts back out though. Every time that I've broken an axle on my e92 it has blown out the casing on the diff side and slathered that black mess everywhere.

You should do a video of you doing pulls like at 10:22, and also show the gauge while doing pulls like 60-120mph

is one of the axle gasket/boot leaking?
andrei put most of the bolts on that axel backed out, one was completely gone. I’m glad I caught it before it got worse
was it the right hand side? and was that diff oil leaking or the lube from the cv/axle joint itself?
