This is one time where I agree with the republican position, even if he specifically is a massive hypocrite. I do NOT accept the position that just because someone is younger that they should get a pass, nor do I think that breaking the law should be seen as acceptable behavior and NOT hold people accountable. If jail is the sentence for a 30 year old, it should be the same sentence for an 18 year old. We have defined "adult" as 18, even though "full adult" is 21 cause that is when you can drink...I suppose one could stretch the definition to 35 as that is when you can run for President, but really, thats an idiotic argument to make in this context.
Regardless, I DONT think drug use crimes are harmless. The Second Order effects on using drugs, affecting healthcare costs, possible additional crimes committed to secure money or fixes, and the fact that using this poison has NOT ONE single positive benefit on the body is enough for me hold to this position, even though I do seem to be losing the argument against legalizing recreational drug use.
I get why we hold those under 18 to a different standard, but come on....at 18 you want to be treated like an adult that comes with being held ACCOUNTABLE like an adult. Simple as that.
