Bring back the 80's...Best music era PERIOD
1970s
808 cowbell is the best sound effect ever.
1000%
This is one of those Aretha songs where you stop and think, yes this is why she is absolutely legendary.
precisely
For me, best she ever did. Exceptional. The way she effortlessly goes up, ridiculous!
You are sooooo correct. Thats how I got here. I heard this at a winery and remember how good it was. 😊
This is a fabulous album! I wore the poor thing out as well as the CD. The Queen of Soul was burning up the charts as well as the radio stations in 1985!!! RIP Ms. Ree!
Great album. She tore up the 80s! Miss those days! Great memories!
every time I hear the word Zoom, I hear Aretha singing. WHAT A VOICE! SHE ZOOMED US ALL.
Reminds me of our clubbing days in the 80s!
@@sl4983 And I didn't drink but I f
danced myself skinny. I miss those days. Wish there were discos where I live.
Man, these were played the back half of 1985 (Who's Zoomin' Who and Freeway of Love) and in to 1986. This was truly Aretha's comeback album. She hadn't really left, but this proved she could still absolutely be contemporary. Great album, seriously one of her best. Even the Queen said so herself.
This was such a special time in my life and he made this a song to us. During 85 and 86 after then I never saw hin again after a year of being together. for almost 30 years. And till he passed away in 2020 he would play this song and take me in his arms to dance to it. These were sone of the most precious times of my life spent with him....We lost so much time baby!!! We got robbed. But boy did we make the best of it while we had those last 11 years together. 💔💔💔💔😥😥😥😥 #WHO'SZOOMINGWHO#2009
Ppp
Brings back some good memories from high school.
My All Time Aretha Jam Is “Jump To It”!
Thank you for providing the year. I guessed wrong in my head. ('82)
I absolutely love ❤❤❤❤❤❤ this amazing song.
I wonder if they guys who created Zoom gained inspiration from this song. Still epic song!
The one and only true queen of soul
Saw an Annie Lennox interview after her collab with A.F. where Lennox talked about how easy Franklin's vocals flowed, no effort. You can feel it on this track, up-and-down the scale, timing changes - probably did it in one take. Uber-Talent.
Aretha Franklin left the World a Lot of Great Music. RIP 🙏 Aretha Franklin.
Beautiful and soulful voice of Aretha .... I love when she says " I ain`t nobody`s fool, bump you"...LOL
I'm Brandon and all I can ever think of when someone mentions what was it....Zoom? Zoom! Yes "Who's zooming who, the song.
Narada Michael Walden helped in the production of this wonder hit for Aretha -and it was a perfect match with her timeless and top notch vocals. As is said so many times about those of her caliber: There shall never ever be another vocal talent like ARETHA ... To Aretha: we miss you big time. We pray that the Creator has enveloped you in love and placed you in that awesome Angelic Choir that includes the likes of Mahaliah Jackson and even that of Marian Anderson. You are embedded in our hearts forever n EVA ...Rest well Queeny....
The song that defined Covid times 2020-22. RIP.
Thank you for putting up the subtitles cuz Aretha's play on words leaves the listener scratching their heads wondering what she's saying.
Still tho an AWESOME song that has aged extremely well.
Narada wrote this song based off the first conversation he had with Aretha. This was basically what she was saying in the conversation (who’s zooming who) (the fish jumped off the hook) (scopin’ for love) etc. He was shocked by her way of talking and Detroit slang, he put it in a song lol 😂 He was so surprised by the way she interpreted the song as well. Aretha knew how to make a song completely hers 💯
He also gave her writing credits.
Thanks for sharing!
Wow really? That is an awesome story! (and so Aretha, lol) Thanks for sharing--love hearing about the stories behind songs!
@@sibun7153 Narada produced it for her. Aretha wrote it.
@@heidiblake7957 Read the original comment.
This should be played at the start of every zoom meeting.
Love it !
Agreed! 😂👍🏾
GOYAASS, I 💯% agree. Although I’m training our cat to use nice paws (no sticking claws in me) when asking for treats, I think she’s training me. So, I need to sing, Who’s Trainin’ Who.
😂
Lol Biden just said that this reminds him of Zoom
Narada Michael Walden produced this for Aretha and it was a perfect match with her vocals. As is said so many times about those of her caliber: There will never be another one like her... To Aretha: we miss you terribly. I pray that the Creator has enveloped you in love and placed you in that awesome Angelic Choir that includes the likes of Mahaliah Jackson and even that of Marian Anderson. You are embedded in our hearts forever....Rest well....
A well written and thoughtful message. 100%.
WELL said!💕
And WRITTEN by LUTHER!!! Same exact prayer goes out to him!
Amen, my brother. I listen to that God blessed voice all the time...when I study, when I am sad, when I clean, when I drive AND when I dance and SING with Aretha. Eternal rest to a BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL SOUL.😘🕯️🥰😇💕🥲
If this is an automated response by "the internet" good one, Jhay Chylla.
This white Southern loves Aretha ! This song doesn’t get enough attention.
Because ther are other fish in the sea...BUT THEY AINT ARETHA! I'm getting the urge to sing this to a dude who thinks he's unzoomable.
I don’t know anything about the first part of your comment. But I absolutely have to agree with the second part of your comment. It’s just an all around great tune by a legendary artist I might add, that deserves more attention and air time than gets
This is a masterpiece
Queen Of Soul! RIP!
This is one of my favorite songs by The Queen of soul. Love the part "fish jumped of the hook" and You will remember my name; I'm the one that beat you at your game!! Snaps fingers!! Yazzz ReRe!!👌 #THE4EVERQUEENOFSOUL PERIODT!
Yes the queen of soul for sure that's how I was brought up to think of her. Thought the lyric was, fish I was going to cook did not bake. Whoops!
Yes !! Great song to send to your ex lol 😂 you WILL remember my name 👍
Yes. See Ya,,,, burn rubber and peel away and leave him in the dust lol
At the time I misheard that 5-word line entirely so that it always said an improbably different 4-word combo in my head: "afficionados of the groove",believe it or not!
To all those finger snapping weirdos, this song isn't about 'leaving' yo man', it's about Aretha getting him to love her first, despite his attempts to do the same.
Love her a legend grooved to this going to college her voice is so powerful miss her!!!
It's got the Presidential seal of approval!
Really
I love to hear Aretha sing😊
Me too.. whos zooming who!!
RIP Aretha Franklin! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
why cant they make music like this anymore answer no talent
ARETHA. PURE.
I've been Zoomin' these fools all along. I play the game just as good!
A song that will always remind you of the lyrics and Aretha franklin's voice 😍
My momma use to play the hell out of Aretha Franklin music and I was drinking all the love she was saying now my mom and Aretha are gone but not forgotten she songs mean even more to me amen
we were in high school and snuck into an Aretha outdoor concert in the late '70's in NJ ... we were dancing and clapping ...shouting encouragement with whoops and oh yeahs ... but the crowd was sedate ..almost like a classical music audience ... like she was a museum exhibit ... security even came up to us and told us stop dancing and be quiet ... lol ... later, in the '80's Aretha's fanbase became more like us ... and she came out with even more great music like this song above ...RIP Aretha ... and (her greatest fan) Bobby Smith too.
A welcomed start to my day jam. Thank you 💕
Great song from the fall of 1985.
😎 Who else is here because this song is from their childhood?
This song came out when I was in my teen years, and it still sounds good today.
@@brianvivickers3712 Yes !! I'm 52 now but I think I was a teen when this was out in the UK 🤔.
I was a young lady when Aretha recorded this song
That's why I'm here.
Me yeah 81
She was a powerhouse
Zoom zoom ❤❤❤😮😂
Such a fitting song for the times eh! 🤣
Thanks Aretha June 2024🌹🌹💐🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️❤️💐💯🔥🎉🎉🎉🖤
"I ain't nobody's fool, bump you.....I'm the one who beat you at your game...."
Gotta remember that 😄😄
The genius of Aretha.
When you look at the lyrics sheet, the words sound like gibberish until you hear what she does with them, adding flow and rhythm.
They don't call her "The Queen" for nuthin' !
THIS SONG. Lyrics and her vocals …chef’s kiss
From the same producers of I Wanna Dance With Somebody, a Whitney's 80s classic. ❤🌻😀
Sending more love than you can measure my friend, shared taste in quality music goes a long way hehe. Be blessed 💜 ☮️🕊️
@@michaeldennistooley4271 so amazing
Baseline is very similar to “how will I know”
@@jeffaholics2289 yes. Whitney and Aretha both worked from 1980 Arista's same musicians and producers
@@ThyegoCabral at their peak
Were it not for Aretha's fantastic voice this wouldn't be a good song.
hell of a bass line though..eh?
Who came here to see if this was an actual song after Biden said "every time I think of zoom it's that song of my generation who's zooming who?"
I knew the song already, but this came out in the 80's and Biden would be in his 40's.
She's the queen of soul, beautiful lady ❤😊
A great Synth/pop record from the Queen of Soul Ms. Aretha.. 🎶🎶🎶🎸🥰
I can’t believe it doesn’t have more views!!!
She speaks for everyone I don't care what gender what race you are but she speaks for you with this or some gorgeous song🎉
reminiscing of my teen years brought me here
"You WILL remember my name/I'm the one who beat you at your game." RIGHT ON, MISS THANG!!!
The Dander-In-Chief brought me here🇺🇸
Sing it Arethea
Ironically Aretha also sang "Think" but that's not really something Joe does a lot of.
Much funnier
Love this song ❤❤❤❤
Aretha is up there telling my dad she loves my song don't she and dad is gonna say with all respect Aretha I've heard enough of that song all day and night for years
My puppy has the Zoomies ❤❤❤
Rest queen ree 💝💝
Who's here because Sleepy Joe called it out??
Raises hand....
The best/drums, synthesizer and melody almost sounds like Whitney Houston’s “how will I know” 😊
Same producer that's why and I thought the same thing!!!
Wow, this video has the most unique way of showing up at times, with its questions???
“Who’s zoomin who”
- Joseph R. Biden 2023
The production prowess of Narada Michael Walden was the perfect recipe for putting Aretha back into the charts, this for me will always be her best post Atlantic record. Flawless feel good vibes.
I so agree with you. He was her magic ticket. This album was FLAWLESS. 🙏🏽👌🏽
🗣️" ARETHA"..."LADY OF SOUL"...🌞🤗😉..."AII THE WAY CLASSIC"...🤫
This song was the inspiration for Whitney Houston’s “How Will I Know”. She even pays homage to Aretha Franklin at the end of her video.
I always loved that song! I had forgotten about it until now! Thank you for sharing this! She was definitely the QUEEN of Soul! There will never be another Aretha! RIP in heaven!!🎶🎶🌟🌟🌟
The real Queen is singing back-up.
Sylvester.
I remember the original video but I can't seem to find it. She was singing looking beautiful and there is a City scene and they had dancers I used to have it on VHS but my VHS tapes are all seized
I remember this was my favorite song in the 1980s I played it over and over drove my parents mad and here I am at 55 just lost my dad a yr ago he is in heaven as I play it over and over now and he up there shaking his head i just know it rest in peace dad
Wow I was born in 90 my brother in 97 but this is her best song!!!
@@AngelHoll-pr8fz I was born in the 60s and she has a lot of great songs I have a lot of respect for this lady she's paid her dues
This tune in a master piece of my beloved 80ies🤩🤩🤩😘😘😘
An awesome memory of teenage times and her early music accompaying me in childhood makes Aretha truly a part of my life. The immortal queen of soul.
Today , I’m really feeling the blues missing my Mom n Grandma. 1985 was a Lit year I’m 14 years old young lady living in Bronx NY with my whole family❤
Sorry to hear that they are in heaven though!!!
Could Zooming have come from thus beautiful song😂😂😂. Listening from Philadelphia 👍
Just fantastic. This song and 'Get It Right' are truly wonderful.
The end of WrestleMania 3 brought me here. RIP Aretha, Pontiac Silverdome, as well as everyone who was a part of that show who has since passed on.
Yes !!! Aretha
Soul mama. Soul gueen.
This would be a bop today in 2023.
Music has been the very essence of this world. Now whose zooming who😇🤟🤣🌎💯💥💋
Beautiful voice!!!
Anyone else here after Biden said he thinks of this song every time he hears about Zoom?
This is another song from Aretha Franklin that brings back some good memories when I kid.
Big and talent singer with amazing voice . Aretha Franklin , beautiful song ..
She'd been in the business for 25 years at the time and showed no signs of slowing down and would be around for a long time after. This is what memories are made of.
80s were just the best ! 👌
1970s
Criple Joe on East Palestine Ohio: "whos zoomin who"
VERY WELL.......................................
I totally agree thanks to COVID 19 bringing this song back Still love it in my music soul RIP Aretha 🙏✨😇🇦🇺🪩💖🎤✨💻🖥️💫
silver blades ice rink birmingham played this a lot in the 80s ,fantastic tune
Zoom needs to license this song and use it in a marketing campaign.
😂
Love it!!!
If she were alive Aretha would've been against it
if the songwriter says "no" it'll never happen
Right? I was like noo
I was thinking how appropriate from 2020 until now. This classic now has a whole other meaning
That was my thought too! Lol
Amazing song🎉the storyline, soul and artist ❤❤❤
She was untouchable
What the hell. Song of my generation.
Buscaba esta canción hace siglos !!! lo escuche el año 1985, recuerdo a mi madre junto al mar. Que tema!!! Saludos desde Perú.😘☺☺

Joe Biden said this song was from his generation so I thought it probably came out it the 50s or 60s.
I felt this in my soul.
To bad she never made a official video as this is one of her best
Love it! Aretha amazing! R.I.P..
I love it I love it and yes I do know that I will remember Aretha Franklin's name
