- Unusual plants grow in dilapidated pottery, clustered together to create an eerie Halloween scene. Intriguing name tags rest next to each species, implying an idea of each of their unique personalities. To create your very own haunting horticulture, shop craft stores for interesting floral that speaks to you! Make them one of a kind by adding embellishments like glitter, change their color with a dust of spray paint, or bend their stems to give them a life-like personality! Use pre-made plant markers or design yours on the computer! Have fun coming up with names that match your plant's personalities!

I LOVE your projects! As a viewer, may I suggest that you slow down the end result on the video? Give us more close up and linger on them. We didn't really get to see much of the pots and that's a damn shame!

Those spooky flowers are stunning and the names are great! Did you make up the names or find them somewhere? Can you list more spooky flower/plant name ideas?
Hi Elizabeth, thanks! I made up the names. For each flower I tried using one word that was descriptive in some way, and another word that was just a made up word. For example, the one large flower is dark purple so I used "Midnight" to begin its name. The daisy-like flower has "Sleepy" to describe its posture and "Moon" to describe the silvery glitter falling from it. You can also use color names - for instance I used "Crimson" for the first part of a plant name that had a red colored flower. For the last part of the names, I just made up words and researched the word online just to make sure it wasn't already a word.
Coming up with the names is very fun, so when you choose the spooky floral you like at a craft store, give it a name that you think fits the plant's character :)

Hi Ashley,
The "Sleepy Moon Psyverrel" started out as a dark purple daisy with a very long stem (from Hobby Lobby). I added some glue to the center of the flower & dusted it with silver glitter. Then I added the flower to the planter (& the moss) and simply bent the stem to look like the flower was sleepy - making the flower head face outward but down a little (and above the edge of the planter). Last, I lightly brushed glue on the lower petals as well as the moss & edge of planter below the flower, dusting them with more silver glitter (to make it look like the sparkling silver was falling from the flower down the lower petals and onto the moss & planter edge below).
They were all fun to make but I liked the character of this one the most! :)

Hi! Those are vintage flower frogs that would have been used in the bottom of a vase to hold the stems of flowers when making a floral arrangement. Floral foam has mostly taken the place of these today. I've just always thought they were neat, & started collecting them after my grandma gave me a few. There are glass versions as well. You can usually come across them at antique shops & sometimes thrift stores, & the metal ones are usually not too expensive. The glass ones can be a little more pricey - especially if they are a certain type of glassware, like green depression glass for example :)
