Metro and V/Line Trains at Diggers Rest

- Diggers Rest is the penultimate station for the suburban Sunbury line and was first opened in 1859. The name of the station and suburb came from the area being used as a resting place for prospectors travelling to and from Bendigo during the gold rush. The line was electrified to Sunbury in 2012, and the platforms were recently extended. Also in 2022 it was announced that the adjacent level crossing on Old Calder Highway will be grade seperated with a road bridge by 2026.
Here we see some Comeng and Siemens trains stopping at the station as well as VLocity trains speeding past
