Metro and V/Line Trains at Roxburgh Park
Roxburgh Park, the penultimate station on the Craigieburn line, was opened in 2007 with the electrification of the line from Broadmeadows to Craigieburn. It is an unstaffed station with an island platform accessed via a pedestrian overpass and sits just north of the site of the original Somerton station which closed in 1960. To the immediate east is the Somerton standard guage loop and a large area owned by Austrak which will be home to a massive rail freight hub, on which construction has recently begun. This video shows trains typically seen at this station with lots of Comeng trains, a Siemens, a Vlocity and a Sprinter

For those missing the old Deer Park station, this video is a flashback to 2020 where we see a few VLocity trains at the station before it was rebuilt on a skyrail. We see South Geelong, Bacchus Marsh and Southern Cross services with a couple of the DMUs still in the old “cheeseburger” livery. Went passed the maintenance depot at Westall and spotted a XTRAPOLIS train there, I thought they were maintained out at Newport.
That’s rare I think, the maintenance facilities for X’Trapolis trains are at Epping and Bayswater
Thankfully that nearly all the level crossings have been removed from the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines, now its time to remove the level crossings from the Sandringham line.
