- Folkston, Georgia is known as a railfan's paradise. Here, you can watch train after train go by. But, if you want the full Folkston experience, stay the night in this historic caboose. It should be on every railfan's bucket list!

It doesn’t get any Sweeter than this. I wonder if this Caboose is Solidly Booked to Railfans. Thx!👍
It looked that way in the guest book.
We stayed in the Lodge right there at that same site next to the caboose. We were there in February and just passing through and called the number. They had an opening that night so we got lucky and watched trains from the back porch of the house and sat on the porch swing in the back near the tracks. The house is awesome and it has bunk beds and everything that a house would have. Trains ran about every hour all night until morning. There was a slow stretch from morning until about 2pm. I put in the guest book how many trains we saw and for how many hours we were there.
My wife and I did this in Strasburg, PA and it was great fun. The Strasburg Railroad went right by our caboose. It was January and bitterly cold but we still had a great time.
Have always wanted a caboose. I have to say…..you consistently give us outstanding content and this video is a great example. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend 👍
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
I’ve stayed in a caboose before at the wild life prairie park near East Peoria, IL! Very fun experience considering it was about a mile away from an active BNSF mainline and the cabooses were also ex Santa Fe ones still with their ATSF logos and reporting marks!
stopeverything v12 put out a new video!
That sounds cool and amazing
Folkston Georgia, my favorite place to see trains from my stomping grounds on the Sun Rail sub
Nice hell ya
We all should stay in one caboose and watch alot of trains from csx Amtrak union Pacific BNSF norfolk southern
Traveled down early one morning to experience the constant passing of trains . Unfortunately, the 1st train that we were viewing heading South, came to a stop .
A female took her own life by stepping in front of the passing train .
This stopped all train traffic for most of the day .
It was a sad day for the loss of a life & for the crew, & the responders that had to witness the incident . 😢
I hope to revisit in the near future !
Do you know if there’s any way to book the caboose online? I’d love to visit it someday!
I honestly do not give the caboose a 5 star rating. The water was not too clean and did not taste good. The curtains constantly fell off, and it was not easy to see trains at night due to lack of light. But it was a fun experience.
Great video. Folkston is jut an hour and 15 minutes from Jacksonville and Folkston has some great memories for me as I have lived in Northeast Florida for 69 years.
Thanks! This was my first time in Folkston and I'd love to go back.
@@v12productions I have looked everywhere and not found your name. Do you hide that on purpose? If not could you share it with us?
@@jerrysinclair3771 Yeah, I hide it on purpose. I may eventually go public with it.

Very cool! I have also stayed in Folkston in the Chessie system caboose.
Sweet! I'd like to check that one out at some point.
Reminds me of Chesteron
What date was this filmed? I think we may have been there around the same time.
Two weeks ago.
@@v12productions We were there three weeks ago in the neighboring cabin. Great stay!
i stayed in that caboose on the 25th
Sweet! How'd you like it?
@@v12productions it was a lot of fun, met the RUclipsr KotaBeaner
Brought back so many wonderful memories!
The KOA in Charleston has some Caboose’s you can rent as well.
They do, but they're not really as good as the ones in Folkston. Also, there's not much activity on the A-Line or SC-Line here.
If you think this is impressive, go visit the Issac Walton Inn at Essex, Montana. There is a main lodge with normal hotel rooms. On the outside, is a ton of cabooses converted to hotel rooms. The best thing of all, a real Ex-ATSF F45 locomotive turned into a hotel room. A real locomotive. All of this, and more, right next to the extremely busy BNSF high line subdivision. There is also an Amtrak station. This caboose is nearly nothing compared to this Inn.
I think I read an article about this place. I'd definitely like to check it out.
Your comparing a hotel to a bed a breakfast....
Awesome
I need one in my backyard!!!!!!!!!
Same here!

Another great video - as always. When you get down to see the Water Tower I told you about, there are some older passenger cars at the nearby depot.
The Pine Mountain / Harris County, GA, Historical Society has there headquarters in an old COG Caboose.
Thanks! I'm hoping to go there at some point this summer.
Does it cost money or is it free I don't know can I get an answer
Yes
@@v12productions what do you mean yes
@@azzul_celeste You have to pay to stay there.
Nice, I would like to have that adventure.
It's worth it for sure!
Have you ever been to the frosty caboose?
In Chamblee? Yep. Good place to watch trains too!
Did you see any of the Pride In Service units on your trip there?
Unfortunately, no. Wish I did.
Oh dang, sucks you didn’t see them
Great idea ! Thanks for sharing .
Thanks for watching!
Glad I got to meet you in Folkston! I've been in it a few times, very nice place to stay.
Nice meeting you too!
Did it have a/c lol?
Yes lol! It would have been miserable without it.
1:58 That is the cutest thing ever! A cardinal on a gondola!!!
