- Performed by members of the Moses Hogan Chorale & Singers during the Moses Hogan Reunion Concert, Sunday, February 24, 2013 in New Orleans at Trinity Episcopal Church.
This is the first performance by the group in over 10 years. Видеоклипы
Don't skip the intro. A tribute to Moses Hogan should never be skipped. His writing for choirs was marvellous-even for amateur community choirs.
Thank you Yvonne. I intentionally kept the intro for the historical significance. The "intro" featured Brian Stratton who was the featured soloist on many of the Chorale CDs.
The bass were so solid omg. The tenor were strong and rich. The soprano, praise Jesus... dramatic! Look at their faces :) The whole choir did excellent. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent!
So glad he had her stretch the C6 at the end.🥰🥰🥰
You are absolutely welcome!!!
altos? 😭
the bass grandpa started feeling it at 4:50. nicely done
Omg that bass is awesome
Speaking as a Bass, totally agree. Wish I could hit those low notes.
charverz sounds like you aren’t really a bass then. It’s fine, as most high school basses are just baritones.
I'm in tears!!!!!!!! Such an honor to have sung with Maestro Moses G. Hogan!!!!Rest in Heaven, Moses and Brian Stratton!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊

Moses was such a beautiful soul and talented beyond measure. My high school choir had the pleasure of singing with him on more than one occasion. He is greatly missed!

Candice Rich mine too!
The Basses had me trembling. Lord thank you!
(I'm basso profundo) no song ever Is written for voices like mine, so these are appreciated
russian choral pieces for you sir!
Peter Dawes I know, on RUclips there's a lot of Russian pieces that I enjoy singing. There's an opening litany for basso profundo and I think that's about when they stop writing lower Zumba
Peter Dawes I second that
Are you really basso profundo? I've never met one
Max if you have Skype or something it'd be rather easy to prove it.
Basses and Soprano!!!!! A1!!!!!
Tenors and altos did well too.

GLORIOUS. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. Continued blessings
Why don't we hear these and those beautiful spirituals in our churches, and our schools anymore?
Hampton University Concert Choir still sings it beautifully
Good question Dorceal!! Hey Tyler, I'm sure the Hampton Choir is awesome and what a tribute to the music of Moses Hogan.
My high school sang this last year :) it was my favorite.
My highschool choir sang this last year for the annual concert festival competition
Come to South Georgia.
I remember this song from high school in choir. Still love it to this day. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Magnificent!
They did damn good to be in just a church. Amazing soprano lead
singing starts at 2:08
Thank you so much lol
If you don't have the time to listen to Brian Stratton talk then you don't deserve to hear this song.
Bless you
Monster's Xt Inc. THANK U SAVED ME SO MUCH TIME

Magnífico!! Wonderful !

OMG.. So beautiful..
Wow! The base gave me chills and the sopranos came to SING!! Glorious sound for relatively small choir.
Bass*

The tenor in the back could be MOses Hogans nephew :)
Amazing

HERMOSO:BEAUTIFULL
Amen!
muitooooo perfeitooooo Deus vos abençoe !!!
Glory 🙌🏽
Love the arrangement, and there are some beautiful, powerful voices in this choir. However....where are the altos?? I couldn't hear them! I think the balance is off, a bit bottom (bass and tenor) heavy throughout with some amazing appearances of soprano. Altos are usually drowned out (fellow alto here) and I'd love to hear more of them! Also, when the choir is singing the word "lord," it might be pronounced a bit too dark for my taste. Again, gorgeous voices, and an amazing arrangement from Moses Hogan. Thank you for sharing!
This is wonderful! Where can we purchase this concert in its entirety?
Awesome!
Maravilloso!
Спасибо за прекрасные имполнения!!!
Hallelujah 🙌🏽
This is the correct speed.
I swear the guy in the beginning is Mr. Brown from the Diversity Day episode on The Office
great spiritual work.
waaah the bass is just great (all did there parts perfectly)- why didn't it sound hivi when we did it :) ... thumbs up
we sounded exactly the same when we performed it in 2005 when English was the ultimate choir for st Stephens.
what happened - lets bring back the groove, pointers
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
EPIC
love bass 2
Jesus!
numinous!
This was my teacher Brian Stratton
We absolutely loved Brian!!!!!!!
Timestamp 2:13 🙌
OmG, there's just 1 Soprano woman?
Daniela Grace Hollero I'm a guy and I am the only soprano 1
There's a few ladies singing soprano about 5 or 6. The end section one exceptional soprano named Bridget I believe stood out the most. Outstanding talent
@@charlotteclarke7256 stood out because she’s the lead. Calm down. What she did was ASSIGNED to her
@@landoblu lol why thank you for the input. I would reread my comment... 🙄 it's clearly a choir so was more addressing that and their blending of the sound. (Which is amazing!) Not the solos. (Also amazing) Plus above a countertenor falsely claimed he was the only soprano there... which was clearly not true. That has nothing to do with her or what was *assigned* to her..Of course they assign solos that's usually how you get them if you sing in a chorale or choir. 🙄
My high school choir sang this song to DEATH!!
Basses! Basses! Basses!
They're not all "professional musicians." He should recognize all people.
4:50 Tennor
yessssssss yalll better SANG !!!!
who the dude with the big afro on the back row... yummy lol
👍👍👍💞💞💞🎶🎶🎶
go to 2:12 to skip the sermon
Dani S It was a tribute to one of the greatest composers of all time, not a sermon, so why would you want to skip it?
A little fast but this was dope
That soprano at the end sucked my soul out of my body
We absolutely love her and totally share your reaction.
For a moment i thought the 4th guy from the top left was Gary Anthony Williams from Malcolm in the Middle. haha. he sure looks like him.
Something’s missing but I can’t put a finger on it. Not bad though.
The song was amazing. I didn't hear much from the Altos.
Wish it was a bit slower. It sounds rushed.
Ummm that's how they sing those kind of songs , lol!
Ebony Simon that’s the tempo
Commitment & dedication? Yes! But this sounds like a bunch of classy singers who never sang together before. No blending at all. And so many note values are just smashed ´n swallowed. Not my thing. Sorry. I refer on the Nathaniel Dett´s stuff ...
Pretty awesome. Didn't care for the tenor soloist at least not in spirituals
The Tenor soloist was my favorite part. There's no accounting for taste sometimes.
They are surprisingly not really that great. The soprano was great and the tenors were fantastic but especially the bass's, there was nothing but a couple of guys struggling to hit an easy note. Over all I give it an 82
It's a reunion event! Give them a break...
