Spectacular vocal power. Resonance, control, dynamics, diction, absolutely superior. And those tenors and basses… my God. So glad I found this gem. 10/10.
This mens section just completely stole my heart, I've seen this song performed so many times (so many) and I've never heard or seen it done like the way they did it. Technically, accented perfect. Musically, you seemed really spirited and connected to the song. Also my favorite recording of this one, ugh just so well done guys, great job great choices.
Here's a suggestion, a 2023 performance of a French ensemble: ruclips.net/video/aSV0eNXkohs/видео.html . It's the encore at the very end, at 1 hour 29 minutes or so. You might like that version too.
YOOOOOOO SON!!! I HAVE GOT LITERAL CHILLS RIGHT NOW! (I was SHOUTING in the car! I had to pull over to write this!!!) I knew & worked with Moses Hogan personally more than a few times in my life between high school and University. Moses actually wrote this particular piece specifically for my high school choir (as should be indicated at the top of your sheet music) MAN, I must say, "Boi, Y'all KILLT IT!!", ...as the say where I'm from!😂 As I am a Bass-profundo/oktavist...(or INFRABASS, as I like to say!), I usually don't give Tenors props, buuuuut.... Dem TENORS doe!!!! Wow! Every section, collectively... overall speechless (as you can see!👆🏾👆🏽👆🏽👆🏿🤣 IMPECCABLE JOB GUYS!!! -Byron
You have such a relented bass section! I’m very surprised by this choir. In my opinion, they should be louder in some spots, but that’s the directors choice with dynamics. Amazing job you guys. You will do great things
I tried in vain to keep with this conductor. Sometimes he's conducting beat with both hands, sometimes he's conducting style with both hands, and sometimes I can't really tell what he's doing. But he's obviously a good teacher, as he must have brought his choir together in sound through rehearsals. I love the tempo you took this; many times it's too fast for my taste. You can't really get the feel for those nice harmonies if you're racing by them.

They done a superb rendition of My soul been anchor !
Cleophas Adderley is one of the best musical directors of our time. Of course he learned from the best, Clement E. Bethel. Excellent! Bravo!

Absolutely soul stirring. Wonderful.
Haunting interpretation with sweeping dynamic contrasts, full and rich sound, and wonderful attention to the details of the score. Fantastic!
