I spent a week in Tuvalu in March and had a blast. Also stayed at Filamona, but my room looked better ;-) Filamona dinners are pretty decent. L's Lodge on the other side of town breaks the rules somewhat and organizes activities on Sundays. I did kayaking. I also did a boat trip to a small island in the south of the atoll. And I took a trip to the Marine Conservation Area. On Sunday I went to church and made friends. I crashed a water sustainability conference and made friends with visiting UN folks. The Tuvalu Women's Council right next to Filamona has a lunch restaurant and also sells local snacks. Oh, you can also rent a scooter and ride around. I met some random people and we partied at the Lagoon Hotel. If not for the fact that I got violently sick my second to last day, it would have been a perfect holiday. I actually want to go back and visit other atolls!
Thank you for sharing what it is really like on Tuvalu. You have cured my interest and saved me a lot of money. I'll stick with vacationing in Hawaii. The seashells you collected were beautiful, I will say. The different markings and colors are amazing. And that sunset was spectacular!!!!!! And I love the kitty at Sue's Kitchen.

Great video and what an interesting country! Are there other foreign embassies besides Australia and Taiwan? Love your sense of humor and no nonsense attitude.

You need to go to Yap Island, Micronesia. More lovely and there are more things to see. Make sure you book you hotel at ESA Hotel. Family hotel and we provide tour around the island and lots to see. Try their food and their taro. ask for the yellow sweet taro. you will love it. Enjoy your trip and I am following your channel.
Yeah should ask for directions, we sprechen ze english. hhh. Saturdays are the worst days to fly in. Hire a scooter to get around especially with the heat. You just went in during a drought so that sucks.
ROFL The entire country is only one street and a small town center, there are no directions, there’s barely a spot on the map for the country. You don’t need a scooter.
The entire island of Fogafale (where she walked for hours) is one of 29 group of islets that make up Funafuti. And the Funafuti group is one of nine groups of islands and islets that make up Tuvalu. Barely scratched the surface there chief. Lol.

Why wouldn't they? Not that many planes fly in and fly out to begin with, and it is some sort of public square when no planes are on it!
