Rachael is not a wealth of information, she doesn't seem to know anything about Papua New Guinea. She is an embarrassment and full if negetivty. What is this about Highlands and Coastal, talk about Papua New Guinea and the beautiful things this country offers. The tour guide is scaring the tourists away by giving misleading informations. Its good for tourists to get more information and do proper arrangements before coming here to really enjoy your tour in this great country of ours. Thank you Emily for your visit and God bless.
Pineapple building was built among many pineapples back in the day. There was a gardener who maintained the big pineapple plants around the building. These pineapples were harvested and given to the workers. There weren't any fences back then, too. Hence, the design and name it's known today.
If you ever return to PNG, I’d be more than happy to take some time off work to show you around! There’s been quite a bit of negativity aimed at Rachel, especially regarding her explanations of our cultural aspects. However, it’s important to remember that she’s not a professional tour guide; she was doing her best to ensure you had a safe experience. Navigating a new culture can be complex, and not everyone communicates things perfectly. I genuinely appreciate her efforts to keep you safe and provide a positive experience, despite the criticism. I’d love the chance to explore the beauty and richness of PNG with you next time!
Your friend or tour guide doesn't have alot of knowledge on the buildings. Pineapple building is where the Prime Ministers Office is located, and it's not the pineapple building anymore. Her explanation is doesn't reflect Papua New Guinea. Too many assumptions on her explanation and generalization. From where she comes from, which is Central Province, they demand brideprice
The coastal area bride price mentioned applies specifically to a province called Central Province. The rest of the coastal areas do not pay that much. In fact, some don't at all.
@@linapandihau2674 I do not think all Manus. Cannot use few instances to extrapolate on the entire province. Not all Manus are wealthy. Similarly to Yangoru, you cannot use a few instances of rich people to generalise everyone.
This may sound silly, but what impressed me the most is how comfortable you are driving a car on the left side of the road. I'd crash within the first mile if I tried it! That final meal you showed looked absolutely delicious. Sorry you got so sick. I was afraid you were going to end up on a ventilator! Glad you recovered enough so you could keep on exploring. Be safe and stay well!
Your tour guide lacks the most basic understanding of Papua New Guinea culture. She lacks awareness of the PNG Melanesian culture and the diversity thereof. She has never been to other parts of PNG. She is feeding you inaccurate information about PNG. She is definitely not recommended tour guide. Nevertheless, hope you enjoyed your stay in PNG.
Hi. It took me only a few minutes into your video to notice this but most if not all of the information stated by Rachel here is either inaccurate or just downright false
In reference to the coastal bride price, Rachael was referring to her people, folks from The Central Province. It is important to note that most of the coastal Niugini Islanders do not practice bride price maybe a few.
Hi Emily, thankyou so much for the visit, great to see you enjoying some of the local cuisine, some of which has an acuired taste. It takes a lot to leave home and travel to a different place, experience different culture and people hence hats off to you. To the local guide and others, please ensure accurate information is given/stated as you become ambassadors to your country, dont just blatantly say things, if you are unsure, be honest. Apart from that, loved your travel doco Emily, keep em coming🫂
Hey, I have so many questions about your travel journey. 1) Are you rich? 2) If you're not rich, then how do you manage your expenses? 3) If you have a job, how do you manage both your job and your travel hobby? 4) Could you give me one piece of advice on how to start traveling?
Bride price in PNG is a traditional way of tying a knot ...that comes with money food and goods to celebrate.....atleast that's what my grandfather told me☺️

If you are interested in the rich traditional cultures of PNG, I would recommend you visit East New Britain, New Ireland or East Sepik. I do know some people who provide this tour guide services in East Sepik.
There are people who are well versed In the different cultures of PNG, and I'm not too sure if Rachel would suffice...Depending on what Province your travelling to, we can recommend people who would be well-versed in those areas to guide you through your journey.
Yep, ladies I really agree with the guys here, Racheal would not do you a good tour guide we offer you a good one a female that makes you comfortable and a male escort, just for your daily runs, pickups and drop offs, for a better insight and experience of PNG. The statements about the Bride price is incorrect. There are a lot of factors that go into determining a bride price such as whether the the women is educated or not or whether she has a good character, or if the women comes from a nice family like a family that will help when the man is in trouble. Its much more complicated than saying coastal women get 130K and highlands women get 2K as their bride price its misleading and very incorrect statement to make.
Disagree with you too..every country in the world has the good side and bad side to it no country is perfect..I love my country PNG❤️🇵🇬Thanks for visiting
@BrixxisCreations I lived in several countries in different continents. Trust me. POM is the worse city for NON pngr. You will never ever see a Europeand girl walking down a street in POM. Hence, not even a white man, although very rarely you see one. And YES it's a terrible city in general. Go to wildlife morata, or Hanubada and you will see how people live and sleep on top of garbage.
Thanks for sharing. Always rough to go under the weather when travelling.. I hope you fully recovered.. If you visit any locations that have Chinese or Hong Kong Products, a good remedy for throat or lung issues is "Nin Jiom - Pei Pa Koa" I believe it might be available in PNG given their connection with China.. It is available here in the Northern Mariana Islands.. It's the same medicine that was flashed on "Thank You Goodnight - The Bon Jovi Story" on Hulu in the first episode... good stuff...
NICE VIDEO LOG, Which country are you visiting next? Best wishes ❤
Beautiful. Next time you come to the Highlands.
No Rachael is not a wealth of information on everything PNG.😅😂 😂
Tour guide epic fail.
It's the worst city in the world if you don't understand their culture, but I drive everywhere.
Disagree with you.

Thanks for sharing your video.
Rachel need to familiarise yourself with PNG History. Highlanders pay alot more for Bride price.
The tour guide, was not actually a proper pick....That is just a sales lady that sells pies in the Airport area, who clearly doesn't know too much about the diversity of the different cultures n people in PNG... The information she provided wasn't too accurate...But thank you for the Visit, and hope you get a better tour guide that knows their culture and history
Exactly, she seem to a confused lady from central who dont have much knowlege of PNG
Sorry for Rachel 21st century kid...Don't even know Papua New Guinea history well.
Rachel is full of it!
The strong odor is true and it's embarrassing because people need to start bathing...😂😂
Your tour guid is not a good choice , she seems to know less about her own country I feel so bad , next time contact me , it's gonna be fun
That's it😂
