    Rachael is not a wealth of information,she doesn't seem to know anything about Papua New Guinea.She is an embarrassment and full if negetivty.What is this about Highlands and Coastal, talk about Papua New Guinea and the beautiful things this country offers.The tour guide is scaring the tourists away by giving misleading informations.
    Its good for tourists to get more information and do proper arrangements before coming here to really enjoy your tour in this great country of ours.
    Thank you Emily for your visit and God bless.

    Pineapple building was built among many pineapples back in the day. There was a gardener who maintained the big pineapple plants around the building. These pineapples were harvested and given to the workers. There weren't any fences back then, too. Hence, the design and name it's known today.

    If you ever return to PNG, I’d be more than happy to take some time off work to show you around! There’s been quite a bit of negativity aimed at Rachel, especially regarding her explanations of our cultural aspects. However, it’s important to remember that she’s not a professional tour guide; she was doing her best to ensure you had a safe experience. Navigating a new culture can be complex, and not everyone communicates things perfectly. I genuinely appreciate her efforts to keep you safe and provide a positive experience, despite the criticism. I’d love the chance to explore the beauty and richness of PNG with you next time!

    Your friend or tour guide doesn't have alot of knowledge on the buildings. Pineapple building is where the Prime Ministers Office is located, and it's not the pineapple building anymore. Her explanation is doesn't reflect Papua New Guinea. Too many assumptions on her explanation and generalization. From where she comes from, which is Central Province, they demand brideprice

  • @gregorypilau3530
    @gregorypilau3530 4 месяца назад +16

    The coastal area bride price mentioned applies specifically to a province called Central Province. The rest of the coastal areas do not pay that much. In fact, some don't at all.

    • @linapandihau2674
      @linapandihau2674 4 месяца назад

      Manus people pay more hefty bride price than the Central but they don't talk about it. Even the Sepiks (Yangoru Saussia).

      @@linapandihau2674 I do not think all Manus. Cannot use few instances to extrapolate on the entire province. Not all Manus are wealthy. Similarly to Yangoru, you cannot use a few instances of rich people to generalise everyone.

    come on.... not everything your guide is telling is true!!! if you really want to experience PNG, you godda travel out of Port Moresby. Port Moresby is a city, where you would see, eat and do things you'd normally do back home. If you wanted a real adventure, I suggest perhaps maybe traveling to Lae, Morobe Province next time. where the highway connects you to more than one Province. where you can see and experience diverse culture. Also, the best time be in Papua New Guinea would be September 16th, our Independence Day. When the celebrations are out of this world!

    The statements about the Bride price is incorrect. There are a lot of factors that go into determining a bride price such as whether the the women is educated or not or whether she has a good character, or if the women comes from a nice family like a family that will help when the man is in trouble. Its much more complicated than saying coastal women get 130K and highlands women get 2K as their bride price its misleading and very incorrect statement to make.

      @BrixxisCreations I lived in several countries in different continents. Trust me. POM is the worse city for NON pngr. You will never ever see a Europeand girl walking down a street in POM. Hence, not even a white man, although very rarely you see one. And YES it's a terrible city in general. Go to wildlife morata, or Hanubada and you will see how people live and sleep on top of garbage.

    Thanks for sharing. Always rough to go under the weather when travelling.. I hope you fully recovered.. If you visit any locations that have Chinese or Hong Kong Products, a good remedy for throat or lung issues is "Nin Jiom - Pei Pa Koa" I believe it might be available in PNG given their connection with China.. It is available here in the Northern Mariana Islands.. It's the same medicine that was flashed on "Thank You Goodnight - The Bon Jovi Story" on Hulu in the first episode... good stuff... Thanks for sharing your video.

      The tour guide, was not actually a proper pick....That is just a sales lady that sells pies in the Airport area, who clearly doesn't know too much about the diversity of the different cultures n people in PNG... The information she provided wasn't too accurate...But thank you for the Visit, and hope you get a better tour guide that knows their culture and history
