THIS IS A PARODY as if it wasn't obvious enough Игры
Scrunt is severely underrated. It changed my life!
Scrunt really takes me back. He was everywhere in the 90s.
geedis
obligatory blue checkmark comment
Me and my brother used to fight over the controller to play Scrunt first! Ah, memories.
Scrunt? Fucking Scrunt!?
The awkward pauses in between sentences while the japanese catches up to the english dub is so hilariously spot on
Oh that went over my head. But yeah that is totally what the joke was.
Thanks 👍
This doesn't actually happen though LOL
in a real translation situation wouldn't it be the other way around? they have to wait for the japanese person to talk so they can translate, after all
@@aoBubsno
Just so everyone’s aware Mega64 has just predicted an October 2022 release window for Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker on Nintendo Switch.
I fully expect this to be a real announcement hidden amongst parody stuff. Can't wait!
But what about twilight princess?? 😭😭😭
@@JeskidoYT whoa whoa, gotta save something for 2024
this is the type of shit where Mega64 makes a video and then it immediately comes true, like Batman in the trench coat
I believe this video takes place in a year in the far-off future. You really think we'd get Scrunt in 2022?
It’s one thing to shoot and kill Phill Spill but you can NOT make fun of Scat Gamble. Its the only game that proves video games are art.
I love u 🥹🥲
I can't stop laughing at Cheekz, the comedic pause before and instant cutaway after is killing me
That pause before _Asteroids_ was perfection.
Perfectly deployed for optimal disappointment.
When you peel off all the layers of irony, this video is actually a release date announcement for Wind Waker for Switch in October
Was wondering when they would port that from Wii U.
A collection of ocarina majoras wind waker and twilight princess might have been nice least I can still dust off the Wii U and play them
This captures the experience of being a Nintendo fan perfectly... TOO perfectly…..
I almost thought scrunt was a real game
I actually want someone to make scut gamble on an actual snes cartridge
Pi Helo!
That would be the best way to honor him
scut gamble
it’s spooky month soon
“And for those of you who actually wanted to own these games digitally, rather than use a subscription service, we are proud to announce, that we’re shutting down the Wii U and 3DS shops in like half a year so you don’t have a choice. Fuck you!”
“But don’t emulate these games”
Digital ownership was always a scam. You were always dependent on a service.
The subscription price isn’t terrible, haven’t played link to the past in a while
@@rotveldt True, it's honestly pretty good. They have a good amount of the real classics on there (I've been really enjoying Kirby's Dream Course, which I haven't played since I was like 6 years old). Some of the games they decide to put on there though truly are head scratchers though. And come on Nintendo, just put DK64 and Mario Party on the N64 lineup already!
Phil was truly a visionary. I’m glad his work will be forever preserved for the next year or so until Nintendo shuts the online servers down.
Phil Spill created "Scat Gamble" to save lives, little did he know it would cost him his. Smh. R.I.P Phil.
he's not actually a real person...
@@carleden8156 Well yeah not anymore, he died!
@@carleden8156 Yeah and ghosts are not real either, suure.
As a person with Crohn's disease, it's hard to overstate how much the representation in "Scat Gamble" meant to me growing up. Phill Spill is dead and the world is worse for it. Also wind waker on Switch sounds dope, but does the lack of gameboy advance connectivity mean no tingle?
The Tingle Bottle will be replaced with the Tingle Tuner. Only that this time it's used to scan Amiibos
@@Dairunt1 holy shit that would be funny
lololol
FAT
I met Phil back at E3 2017 it was my first media gig. He showed me nothing but respect and gave me a look at the vr port of Scat Gamble. I'm truly going to miss him.
there's no VR port of Scat Gamble...
@@snailnailnailnailnailnails not anymore unfortunately
Listen, emulating SNES games is hard. You can't just drag that shit into a phone emulator and make it work. Nintendo has to get its crack team to make an obscure game from the 1990s run on 2020s technology.
Plus, you have to consider what might happen if players had too much choice. I have no scientific evidence to back this up, but I imagine if you suddenly made hundreds of games available all at once for 30/40 year old systems people might literally shit and die.
💀
Yes, they need to inhale crack to do this.
Rocco's delivery of "You're gonna love our August lineup LOOK" cracks me up.
Best part of the video LOL
As a longtime fan it's amazing to have witnessed the transition from Mega64 doing the original Miyamoto video to filming at the Treehouse and getting their own character Filsamech into an actual system, to just absolutely roasting Nintendo. Bravo boys. 👏
I'd recognize the Scat Gamble cover art photo from the Bucc-ees bathroom any day of the week
Holy shit, Scrunt is finally coming to Switch!? Man, I'm so glad I'm paying 50 bucks a year for this.
This is actually so realistic. It actually feels like the games that nintendo pulls out of its ass for Switch online are fake.
its*
@@christopherrapczynski204 yeah, it's either incomplete versions of games that came out years ago, shit I specifically avoided, or things I've never and will never hear of. I think one outlier was Persona 5 Strikers, but not much else.
Reminder the first time there's been an official English release of the original Fire Emblem on the NES they made it a timed exclusive like Mario All Stars and haven't even added it to Nintendo Switch Online now that you can't buy it anymore. So they made an official English release of an old NES game that you'd have to pirate a fan translation to play, only to make it unavailable so now you have to pirate a fan translation to play.
@@christopherrapczynski204 They cut out parts of Yuppers Surprise!?
@@christopherrapczynski204 mavis bevis teaches fighting made me fucking lul
You guys are seriously sleeping on Bean Boyz: Bad 2 The Bean. Me an my cousin used to play it at our grandma's boyfriend's house and it was too much fun. Pro-tip, at the start screen make sure you select Soybeans. I know Pinto & Navy have better stats on the menu but my cousin found an exploit where if you repeatedly tap R+B, you can build infinite gas that make the first 3 bosses a cake walk. Cheers!
This totally worked! Thank you so much
BB:B2tB has always been filled with secrets like that. I remember in elementary school when a friend of mine told me he read from some magazine that you could actually unlock cocoa bean if you beat the chili festival level without using gas power and finishing the rest of the game without taking damage.
I never managed it, so I thought it was fake, but I recently saw a video on RUclips testing video games myths that proved that it was true! It was just really really hard!
Sometimes when you guys censor cuss words, it makes things funnier, but I’m dying laughing at them saying “shit” in an official Nintendo direct
roccos talked before about how censoring or not censoring swears is a very tactical comedic decision that he does his best to feel on a video-by-video basis and i really appreciate the thought that goes into that
Mega64 skits literally never dissappoint
You’ve literally never seen The Haunted Wii.
Don't forget the spinoff cult classic on Gameboy, Mini Scrunt: Scrunted Growth.
RIP Phil Spill. You were taken from us too soon...
phil spill telling me not to laugh was probably what got me most.
I appreciate that Shawn's newsroom was in Toronto.
Uniracers is one of the all time greats and I'm SHOCKED they can use it after the Pixar trial. It's such a great two player race game.
Can or can't?
@@williamcharron4683 Shocked they can use it. My understanding was that they had to cease selling it and promoting it after they lost the Pixar copyright suit. Great memories playing it with my college roommate.
Why would Uniracers be linked to Pixar?
@@GabePuratekuta Pixar tried to sue the Uniracers devs bc they also made an animated unicycle in 1987
As a sufferer of IBS, Scat Gamble made me feel seen for the first time in gaming
That pause before Scrunt got me so bad. Amazing sketch!
5 years after launch and Nintendo REFUSES to put Pippon no Pipoppo on the Switch. They really need to figure out the rights issues on that.
Legends say Andrew is still slouching in protest to this day
You joke, but Uniracers would legit be hype considering the legal issues behind it.
uniracers is an actual god tier gem though, if you like sonic games and stuff being absurdly 90's its great
it’s crud
@@Slop_Dogg It's Sad™
it's a low-key top 20 snes game
Uniracers(or Unirally) lost a lawsuit Pixar filed against it, so the game ever getting rereleased would be huge news.
Imagine a world where anyone who worked for Nintendo was this self-aware.
Scat Gamble is one of my all time favorites. I'm very glad to see it finally available to play!
So glad the new generation of gamer's will get to experience Nut Cluster EX, that game changed my life
I love how Mega64 is even saying "Wind Waker for Switch."
C'mon Nintendo. Just do it.
Of course we're gonna have to wait years for them to finally add Bean Boyz 3: Bean There, Done That
I was really hoping for Pippon No Pi-Pa-Pappon to FINALLY get its port. Looks like project Windwhistler let us down again
Windwhistler cannot fail us, it can only be failed. Did YOU contribute to the Kickstarter campaign to bring Skynia Chronicles: Legend of the Dream World to the west?
Rest in peace to Phil Spill. A true legend, I will surely remember you!
"LOOK." Loved that!
Thought we were getting Mario is Missing instead of Teaches Typing, what a nice surprise!
Only thing missing are those awkward pauses between announcements where they go "so, what did you think?" As some rather artificial attempt of viewer interaction.
Amazing video.
Rocco’s approximately fifty extra milliseconds of hesitation before saying “shit” absolutely destroyed me.
This has the Mega64 energy I crave.
Where my “CHEEKZ” nuts at
Everything was predicted
1:36 especially this...
The sequel to Cheek Beaterz was only released in PAL regions. Hopefully that will be coming soon
As a Nintendo fanboy with NSO, yeah... I feel this. :(
Everything was 100% believable except the part where Sony puts any effort into anything related to previous generations.
Your industry commentary videos are always great. I wish you'd make more of them again.
Yeah, I feel like the guys think these are "low effort" or whatever, since they have such high standards for themselves, but I honestly get a kick out of them. That 2018 Xbox Spring parody or whatever is one of my favorite videos of all time... SEA. OF. THIEVES.
These are their best videos. Even funnier to me than the GAMES IRL ones. But love all flavors.
This is going to be one those videos that ages more like a fine wine every month.
Is this the skit where their arms were tired?
Love seeing a classic video like this again, you still got it!
rocco's frustrated laugh is amazing
this video aged well
I was so glad Scrunt made it into Ultimate, now I can play the game he's from!
Scrunt is just the name of the game. You’re thinking of Geedis.
My all-time favorite running gag in Mega 64 is that Derrick always has to die in every video
I can’t believe people aren’t showing more love for “CHEEKZ”, an absolute hidden gem. Seriously people, play it! Thank you Nintendo
For real ppl should clap CHEEKZ
Rocco seething as he transitions through the greenscreen for the nonexistent september announcement and then screaming in anguish is fucking killing me, but the entire video is gold. 10/10 content
"Snickle Snuckle...............and...............Cheekz"
The awkward pauses were too perfect
you're telling me the switch online pass is not only getting SCRUNT, but the limited first edition where Geedis was a playable character? So hyped to play this childhood gem!
I KNOW RIGHT?!
I'm so glad you guys are still making videos all these years later
Seriously when is Nintendo going to bring my favorite classic games to the Switch? Just off the top of my head: Jet Donkeys, Tasty Nate's Sled Extravaganza, Myth of Chronicle ZX (Japan only), Token Gurgle, Hashbrown Goes to Vegas, Hammerhead Shark Decapitation Simulator, Mario Math Tutor
"For the regular NES"
proceeds to show 4 games with SNES box art
I always stumble back onto this channel from time to time, wish more videos popped up in my recc
I want to play Scat Gamble, I think it's a potential GotY contender.
Was wondering when you guys were going to do a video like this. Fucking almost died laughing at Rocco's tweets over the last year ripping on NSO with the made up game names
I love how every pause in Rocco's speech is of a different length
I'm so excited that they are finally making a SCRUNT television show after its hit release in INSERT YEAR HERE, thank you Nintendo for reviving this classic!
I feel like we'll be talking about this direct for years to come.
Is there a full version of that ending song remembering Phil Spill?
Personally I can't wait for 'Crust Nibblr' (Famicom ver.) to launch on Nintendo Online this fall. Who needs Gamecube emulation, when you can gather crumbs with Dondy the Squirrel, in original Japanese.
This video timing and pace remind me of the classic chin down, eyes up. Fantastic job!
Phil Spill bought the farm
Good actment guys, it's been a while since a skit like this was uploaded, thanks for doing it!!!
I can't believe you used the bathroom photo for scat gamble and I can't believe I watched so much of you guys to recognize that photo on sight
That Zelda joke was the real MVP of this skit.
2:11 It's Geedis! Hi Geedis!
I was just listening to a Siivagunner rip of a track from the new Switch Sports game with the tune replaced with "Damn Daniel", and it's the same fucking tune as they use in the Direct intro
My brain broke clicking this video and hearing it again.
The Nintendo direct was so accurate it made me angry as if i was watching the real thing, because it is pretty much that
Oh wow, been a hot minute since they released a skit. Nice! Great way to kick off my vacation
Ah, I missed these types of mega64 videos and the amazing editing behind them. What we’ve all been waiting for!
I can’t afford food, but at least I can play Astroids on my Switch
today we got snake rattle n roll while japan got mother 3. absolutely evergreen video
The delivery of ''Scrunt'' nearly ended my life.
This reminds me of their old video that was on Game Trailers "Nintendo's 2011 Lineup"
Scat Gamble just keeps bringing me back for more. IDK if it's my addiction to gambling or shitting.
finally people will get another chance to play Bean Boyz: Bad 2 The Bean. I know the original Bean Boyz got more sales (10,000 worldwide!!!), but I think B2TB was really underrated and people never gave it a chance.
The pause on Lester was GOLD!!!
😂The aonuma part killed me, I trust youll be paying the funeral charges
Phil Spill was ahead of his time with Scat Gamble and needs to be appreciated for what it is, like how windwaker wasnt truly appreciated in its time.
Was scat gambe referenced in the sit quitters video?
Ah yes the classic,
C h e e k z
Bean Boys II: Back to the Bean was an underrated classic, definitely took the source material and improved upon it.
The weird pauses during the Nintendo segments is so accurate
I use to support Phil, but after all of the Twitter arguments he had with the Sonic community, it was hard to not just see a grown man battling with himself.
Mario Teaches Typing literally taught me typing, how dare you make fun.
Rocco: Scrunt.
Lost it right there...and now I wish that Scrunt was an actual game.
Man... seeing Scat Gamble really takes me back to my childhood
Whole video is a brand new classic and to top it all off we get "Whither Must I Wander" out of nowhere at the end. Thanks for finally listening to us after all these years! #RalphVaughnWilliams
Rest in peace Phil Spill.
I loved Scat Gamble as a kid.
