Anthony Bourdain passed away last year. RIP
Logan Paul went to the Japanese suicide forest, also known as the Sea of Trees, where people are commonly known to go to commit suicide. They saw a dead body about a hundred yards away and decided they should get closer to it and do a reaction of it, where he tried to act like it wasn't intentional that they found it. Then he had his camera crew and told them to film his reaction rather than avoiding it. They also cracked jokes about it in the same video. Talking about how crazy it was to find a dead body in a forest known for dead bodies, while being right next to the body and with no care or respect to human life and the troubles the person may have gone through to commit suicide in the first place. They whole video was him disrespecting Japan's culture throughout, wearing a stupid Toy Story alien hat like a child, and cracking a smile about the situation with "omg this is so crrraazyyyy" reactions. You're also not even allowed to film there. He had the dead body in his video thumbnail, but blurred it out, except not really, he only blurred out part of the upper half of the body. You could see the noose around the persons neck, his whole body down to his feet hanging, while Logan was standing in front of it for the camera. He monetized this video as well. Taking advantage of a dead mans corpse for shock value views. He tried to claim he was raising awareness for suicide with the video, but with advertisements and mockery? Not even a good try there. We've also had therapists, dialect coaches, and people that know a liar when they see them describe habits, and forceful nuances that he had in his videos and several interviews later on trying to save face and pretend like he was sorry. But, they all basically said how he was forcefully adding a hoarseness to his voice to appear sorry, how his face is not naturally adjusting to express concern, and how his words kept revolving back to being all about him. He was just trying to prevent losing his fanbase. To top off that he isn't just awkward at apologizing, they looked at several previous videos and acts he made where he forced the same levels of concern, and runs the same script, only to turn around and do them again, even seconds later. He also kept trying to roll with the whole "parents should monitor what their kids watch on RUclips" thing, and said his content isn't for children, yet he commonly references the high school aged crowd, and does meet ups where all of his fans are young children, and acknowledged his targeted fan base before. Trying to deflect opportunist responsibility, and trying to pretend it's not his fault that his fans watched his video that he knew were very young and not ready to see a close up of a dead body, let alone one of suicide, which is so much worse than one of external causality.
So, the joke is basically, why would a dead body stop him from doing a collab?
