I'm trying to clear the Ties that Bind quest(I completed chapter 7) and when I arrive at the spread destination at the shore, it did not trigger anything. I looked up on GameFAQs and they said use the Follow Ball and IGN made it clear a cutscene is supposed to occur. I finally found out how to use the Follow Ball and kept approaching the spot it tells me to go and nothing happened. For half an hour, I thought I was supposed to beach comb for those glasses and hit A once I think I pin point the location, but silly me, that isn't Pokemon. Maybe the game is broken or I may have missed that one magic pixel I need to feel in order to trigger the said cut scene. Either way, that is the developers fuck up. Edit: I tried doing what you did and just skipped travel to a particular spot on the map like you did in the video to see if that made a difference. The first time, I just drove straight away on a skell. I was also piloting a skell when I copied your action and I'm stunned it actually worked. That is a lot of faith the developers and programmers have to program the trigger an event for an affinity quest in such a way. All it did was create negative reinforcement and if a player had to use RUclips as a last resort to figure out how to clear an obstacle in a game, then the team that worked on the game/designed the quest in such a way did a bad job.
+AdamEEntertainment Kind of yes, but also not as much as I'd like since Nintendo keeps giving me stuff and I'm also trying to practice for a speedrun at AGDQ2016. You can add me though. :) (Not everyone else on RUclips reading this though. :P ) My NNID is... what you'd expect.
