And now his hilariously persistent faith on Zagreus' tale must've been because of that fact... poor lad.
I have this headcannon, that Orpheus was completely aware that Zag was messing with him, from the very beginning. And he carried it on and created this hymm just to mess with the Zag in return. I was hoping that the game would have brought it up and linked it to the act of myth making, and how there is truth in everything, even the lies

And I think I read something that said that to make a consensus, they made him both the son of Hades and Persephone AND proto-Dionysus. But take this last bit with a grain of salt because I haven't seen that anywhere else.

Kinda, Zagreus was one of the most powerful gods and may predate most hellenic greek gods. He was originally the god of death, rebirth, madness and nature. Overtime in order to fit him into what we consider the Greek pantheon he got severely watered down and became Dionysus.

Zagreus, in Orphic myth, a divine child who was the son of Zeus (as a snake) and his daughter Persephone. Zeus intended to make Zagreus his heir and bestow on him unlimited power, but Hera out of jealousy urged the Titans to attack the child while she beguiled him with toys. The Titans, who were opposed to Zeus’ power, tore Zagreus to pieces and consumed him except for his heart. Athena managed to save the child’s heart and brought it to Zeus, who swallowed it. it's a falsetto that was common in some scholastic musicians.
Voice has no gender, if you study the pitch of many celebrities and compare them to the "pitch range of a woman or one of a man" they don' t match

@@TuanTranMelinoeZagreus4880 i mean all mythologies can be reduced to “lies”/fiction or you could just look at them as different perspectives on life that employ common themes, archetypes, and sometimes characters to sculpt new metaphorical frameworks. I find departures from theological orthodox like Orphism and Gnosticism quite fascinating.
