On this day in 1964 {March 15th} the Dave Clark Five performed "Bits and Pieces" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'... One month later on April 4th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #4 and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #2 on the United Kingdom's Singles chart... The song was composed by Dave Clark and lead singer Mike Smith... R.I.P. Mr. Smith {1943 - 2008} and Mr. Sullivan {1901 - 1974}...
My all time favorite by The Dave Clark Five of many awesome classics. So sad only two members left. R.I.P. to the three that have passed on. I always loved The Dave Clark Five.
Fifty years ago these guys five guys recorded this, one of the greatest rock tracks ever, imho. Viewing the ratings, it seems five lesser mortals have no soul.
Great song! I listened to all their hits and like this the best regardless of whatever position it was on the Billboard charts.
Bites and pieces is a kick-ass song

This is what music is all about. Used in all 60's tv drama. Heartbeat etc. Scared to think nearly half century old !!

DC5 HARD ROCKIN' BRITS!!!! PURE ASS ROCK'N ROLL !!!
One of my all time motivational drum tunes-- thinking Dennis the menace next to me Wilson's war
I know the drumming riff would be easy to replicate for any great drummer, but boy, what timing and a great addition to this song!
Dave is sooo handsome, Great band.
I love this song! great for singing in the car
Some people have no class, you are one of them!
soooo good
Love the chandelier!
I have the RARE LP with all the hits. Dave Clark took years to agree to release the originals for a compilation LP.
Better than Beatles
Someone owes Lawrence Welk a new chandelier.
Shit-hot piece of Sixties Rock 'n' Roll music- (absolutely timeless!) :)

I saw another vid saying it was on Top of the Pops in 1964, so around then I guess

@roosevelthighschool the drummer
I believe there are still 3 alive. Dave, Rick Huxley and Lenny Davidson. Unless I missed an obit.
Rick Huxley passed away in 2013.

Sixty-four, I think.
I never really liked the DC5 as they usually just screamed instead of singing. Although their movie was actually fairly entertaining.
it is out of sync
