    Thanks for sharing, 😂😂 this made me laughed so hard. Funny!😂😂😂 you would have had the same answer if you asked them about Benin Rep. Ivorians are scared of juju😅! But we know more about Benin because they speak french, so we are less scared. Unfortunately, Nigeria being an english speaking country, it's difficult to learn more about them. Meanwhile, we keep on consuming naija movies as more and more are translated in french. Cheers!

    Let’s not hide our faces, Nigeria is a very dangerous country from a security point of view (kidnapping of human beings during the day and at night, human sacrifices to enrich themselves, etc.). I have never felt so unsafe in a country despite being in Lekki. So it makes sense that some people are afraid of this very beautiful country with a diverse and very rich culture.

    I enjoyed your positive outlook. However, most of the Ivorian comments show a level of ignorance. American movies show aliens kidnapping people, poltergeist etc. Does this mean that is the order of the day in the US. Movies are mainly for entertainment and they are not meant to be seen as documentaries.

    Ivorian here and have been to Lagos, so many similarities with Abidjan....Now, onto the crux of this video; first, you only interviewed a few people. Also, there is a lack of socioeconomic diversity (which, let's be honest, can correlate with exposure and knowledge outside of, say, Nollywood Movies). This lowkey, but high key, paints Ivorians as ignorant when the sample is not representative nor diverse enough to give a fair view of what Nigeria's image is in Ivory Coast. And by the sheer number of Nigerians present in IC, Ivorians are most likely more exposed to Nigerian culture than we realize or eloquently communicate.
    There should have been a disclaimer, Abidjan has people of all backgrounds and with different levels of understanding and like what someone else mentioned in the comments, Ivorian curriculum schools study some Nigerian history.

    • @PharoukDamilola
      @PharoukDamilola  6 месяцев назад

      You are right!! The goal is actually to let Nigerians aware of the impact of Nollywood… Ivorians love Nigeria and they are so hospitable.

      Thanks for encouraging healthy debates..... but I have to pick a bone with your response, you didn't really preface the video as that. If you had mentioned, "My Naija bros Nollywood has us looking crazy out there" it would have been perfect. + some of the responders are from Benin.... This was a clickbait and you got us. Semantics matter, surtout quand we are building bridges and telling our own "African stories", we have to hold ourselves to higher standards. We cant talk about Nigeria's supposed bad PR, and produce bad PR for 30millions people :-/
      ps: The video quality is great.

    Is there Netflix in Ivory Coast? Those ritual movies are like ancient movies, what are they watching? Also, the people interviewed are a bunch of folk on the same street. Why not interview people from different parts of the city? What about the universities, business districts etc?

    It seems that only the Nigerian-Ivorians know what the real issues are in Nigerians. I find it surprising to hear that there's not much of a class distinction in Ivory Coast as we have in Nigeria. I thought it was an all African thing I wonder if that has anything to do with what I've learnt that it's a France controlled country. If so, that will leave the French at the top. Maybe it has to do with 40% or so of Ivorians not being originally from that country, so the society has shaped differently. The Ivorian responses were quite ignorant I must say.

    • @PharoukDamilola
      @PharoukDamilola  6 месяцев назад +2

      Brilliant! I love your viewpoint! But do you think Nollywood should produce more videos that mirroring the society in terms of fraud, ritual and all?

    • @themark7948
      @themark7948 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@PharoukDamilola I think Nollywood has long since diversified. I haven't personally seen any ritual movie in years. I'm actually starting to see nice action movies with good choreography. Let me ask you a question. While I agree on making movies with diverse storylines, do you blame the producer of a movie for making it or the consumer for being ignorant? Hollywood shows a lot of violence, including gun violence, but many of these people would still visit America. My question is why the double standard for your fellow African?
