Door fact: video games are a door to an other world, in the same time out of the real one and inside us, a world where we can use to flee boredom or pain of the everyday life. A door to a world full or colors and cool things happening and the fact that, if we fail, there are no real consequences. No wonder why so many people love them.

If you say that "Internet/video games ruined my son" is because you're probably not a very present parent and your the problem not the video games.
Kinda have to disagree with this. I’ve seen the tests that I should have studied for but decided to waste that time on hypixel usually got me that annoying A- instead of an A if I actually went through my notes.

They legit dedicated a whole 25 minute episode to this kinda subject, the teachers and moms banded together and took away all video game because they thought it was making the kids violent. And then the kids turned the adults attention to the fact that books are just as violent if not more and than the adults burned all books in elemore including the electronics.

I’m glad to hear references to Lego Star Wars and Minecraft Lite. Those games were what 6-10 year old me thrived upon.
typical boomer society: getting rid of/wanting to get rid of stuff for their own agendas and passing it off as helping those who use said stuff. This is why I only put on my debater face when it's games being talked about; remember, where video games stand now on the blame-on-it list in society, comic books once stood
Too much time focused on video games in my experience has impacted my grades. I used to spend most of my evenings on discord playing whatever, when I should have been studying for the next test. That in turn got me the lower grades, when if I had spent that time going through notes and materials for just 30 mins I would have gotten an A. Trust me, I have sunk like 4k hours in minecraft, 2-3k in Valorant, and a lot of time in other games. Sometimes the “boomer mentality” isn’t always wrong, in hindsight you could have taken it upon yourself to do something more productive and not disappoint the parents. I do agree with the blame-it list point you brought up, its really interesting how new widespread trends and interests among students have changed over the years, and how parents have used it as leverage to get their kids to do work.

I guess I generalized that faction too much bc I do know some who qualify as a boomer who don't try to metaphorically enslave younger generations, such as my grandpappy

Oh man, do I remember LEGO Star Wars. It was the top played game aside from Minecraft on my old 360. Me and my older brother would play it all the time and we were champs. Of course we had limits but we didn’t care too much. A few years down the road and we stopped playing and now, our 360 is dead. We still have the disk though.

Dude the pod racing level in Lego Star Wars was the best and it was easy for me I somehow always placed in the top, usually first.
I've been PC gaming before I was old enough to go to school.
Dawn of war dark crusade, mass effect 3, some really fun shooter I cant remember, FATE (a good rpg), a 2nd grade point and click educational game, and probably more.
Then I got a ps2

lmao the demo version of minecraft is legit the very first version of minecraft and the very firts video game i have ever seen. I remember seeing that being played by one of my schoolbus mates and legit getting mindblown about it since i literally have never seen anything like it before. I still remember the days when i brought my tablet on school to play minecraft and literally got it confiscated by the teacher during class.

I remember that hardest level was when i first started the game and I didnt know how the controls worked, so I spent 90 minutes trying to figure out where to go in the trade federation ship lol. Also the darth maul duel was hard af

same thing happened to me except for a year
When I was in somalia I actually don't study even on the exam because the teachers will tell us where and what questions will be in the exam and still alot of people failed those exams and when mom tell me to go to your room and study I just use my phone for 20 minutes and say I studied and when I go to school I just read the subject for a about 5 to 10 minutes and I am done (I was grade 9 btw)
