It was good to hear your thoughts on this. Over the years, I have learned that my palate does not appreciate Rum finish in general. This sounded like the "extra sugar" notes that I get from Rum finish which means, not for me. Take care.
No I didn't. I find when the whisky is quite palatable at bottle strength I leave it as it is. However, I continued to drink it that evening and it got so much sweeter.
Does sound like a nice entry level dram and for us something to sip and help us stay away from the more expensive collection. Cheers Toby 🥃

I prefer some extra sweetness but it still has to taste like whisky. Rum finishes are definitely popular.
@@WhiskyShared yes, I think that might be it. Some Rum finishes end up tasting, well, like rum!
