I just bought the Commander Mini! It will be my first electric vehicle of ANY KIND! I would like to thank you and the rest of the community for inspiring me.....I look forward to ripping up the mountains here in WV!!!
I bought mine on aliexpress before i ever heard of Roger. Its truly a game changer. I just received the Roger EV adapter and its so tiny! Cant wait to try it out.
Be careful, on a 120v outlet, this charger can only do 1500w. At 134v and 12 amps you are at 1600w which is above the max rating fot this charger at 120v. I blew mine charging the patton (126v) at 14a on a 120v outlet.
@@ElectricUnicycles I’m referring to the chargers maximum, not the outlet. At 120v input current, charging beyond 1500w (voltage x amps = watts) will overheat and potentially damage the charger. At 240v (on an ev station) it can do up to 3000w. Ask Roger he will confirm it. ✌️
The 1500W number is conservative.... I have charged at 15A plenty. I have also charged at 3000W on 220V. But if you exceed recommended values, you get no sympathy from me if it goes boom.
Wonder if the fans are the correct size/voltage to be replaced with some noctua fans... 🤔 Would be curious if they'd be able to cool this beast while keeping things a bit quieter, though... 😅
Can he retrofit V2 to V3? I find having to multimeter the tenths a pain if you bump the setting accidentally since the display doesn’t show tenths over 100V due to the 3 digit display. It seems less likely on V3 to have to do that once set.
Possible yes. The first V3 was just a V2 that I modified so I can send photos and videos to the factory. It was a major pain the the butt though. Sell you V2 and buy a V3
I haven't had the need to fast charge the Mini yet but there's nothing special about it that would prevent a full charge with Roger's charger. No bypass performed
Still living vicariously through you❤ my mini is still mia... 2 more days until I put an order in with Lem. I wish I was closer to mountains like you, do you ever worry about cars when riding the streets in the mountains or are there dedicated paths?
We don't have must traffic in the mountains and I ride defensively with a helmet mounted mirror so I always have great situational awareness, knowing the cars approaching me from behind are giving me plenty of space.
@@EUCWayOfLife Sure. When spread across the four battery packs and many cells, it's not much really. At home I usually use the 3-amp stock charger. But when you're in a hurry it's a nice option.
Careful charging on 110v outlets at 12amps you are drawing a bunch of power and more likely to trip breaker on 110 outlets. I don't charger faster than 8amps with a 134.4v wheel on 110 outlet.
Haven't had that issue but yeah, be aware of the load on the circuit that you are using. Breakers are easy to reset 😊and most outlets in the wild seem to support 20-amps.
@ElectricUnicycles oh I know that the outlets support 20amps but I have seen breakers trip on 110v even with 20amp outlets, likely the circuit itself isn't dedicated to outlet, but personally rather play it safe and allow others to charge rather then get to destination and outlet be down, cause I couldnt wait an extra 15minutes.
I sure wouldn't be happy running 12A through a single GX16, even using twinned pins. Given theres 2 ports on the wheel, I'd be utilising them and running 6A through each. No doubt you and others have done it on a single port plenty of times before though so you're prob happy with it.
Yeah they’re rated for 10 amps which is why they come with two ports, they wouldn’t add a whole extra port for two standard chargers because they are trying to maximize profit and that costs money, plus who is actually gonna buy a second standard charger? Like basically nobody
@@ElectricUnicycles The really small ones are 100v-135v only which is fine for me. Ningning sells his version which I got too, there are a couple in China, the last one we group bought from, we bought his remaining 14 in stock, he said someone in China ordered 30+. Hardest part is finding someone to trust I guess.
O man, thingamajig sounds as loud as a hair dryer! Probably fine in a noisy starbucks but dunno bout restaurants 😅. I would def get one if I had 13 wheels😋 to charge up in a jiff & I've a need to do mountains. 70miles is about the max I can do in a day before body craps out but I'd def it from Roger if I ever have a need. If he ships to Can that is
What an amazing piece of hardware. You’re lucky to know that Roger guy.
Thanks Marty

From our experience most non-residential outlets support ~20-amps. But good advice. I assume that you mean your circuit breaker reset?

V3 is accomplished in China so I doubt V2 can be modded. You can always ask Roger.

Does your Commander Mini Charge up to 134.4 Volts with this charger? Have you done a PDB bypass?

Thanks hope your Ankle is getting strong! Enjoy all your videos from Sydney Australia !😂❤
Thanks Jude 🙏
i always said we need a Mt. Marty!
I'm curious how many miles you went on that run, even though the video is not a range test video, thank you
103-miles
is there a discout code? do they ship to alberkurkee ??? thats wr i am ...

@@ElectricUnicycles do you think it's safe regularly charging the mini at 12a? That is impressive to charge it from 0 to full in basically 1.5hrs!

What’s the walking voltage on a Sherman max?
100.8-volts
@@ElectricUnicycles no I meant the voltage when your max stops, like you said on this video, “walking voltage”.

These are great chargers, however they are still large and heavy. We need a lighter smaller powered charger.
That would be nice, someday. Still smaller than the typical EUC fast charger. They are heavy though.
…And a free lunch…
There's the Huawei chargers that you have to get customised in China though, Ningning sells a version of it as well.

Marty, how much is the charger being sold? Can he also make a Roger charger but with EU 3 pin plug?
