We fix our community by changing our perception of sex. We sleep with each other haphazardly, in doing that we make fathers out of those who aren't equipped and mothers out of those who aren't suited. Too many broken homes because both sexes have low standards for the other. I'm 32, at this point, a woman has to have substance for me to pursue anything with her. STDs are real, toxic baby mothers are real, choose women that are harder to get. If you pick your fruit from the ground you're bound to have a mouth full of dirt.

Part of the penalty should be family support. See what they need, therapy, housing, food, child care, etc.

Math sometimes talk out his ass cause worked with direct file juveniles for 8 years and you can’t always blamed the parents. I’ve had so many parents that would cry to the judge and ask for help and they will not help the parent, but is so quick to blame them when their kids become menace to society. I always put the blame on the government for cutting all the resources that could possibly help these kids stay out the street. They no longer offer programs to at Risk youth and if they do they it’s very limited. I seen this ish hands first hand on how the judicial system fail our kids and their parents who ask for help. You do have some POS of parents that need to be locked tf up, but I had more good parents than bad. So no I don’t feel the parents should go to jail-i feel our government need to be held accountable
It usually is the parents though. A lot of people are sexually irresponsible and end up having kids that are not fit to take care of in the first place. Bringing a child into the world with no sort of structure, not having the resources to properly tear them and then begging someone else to help you clean up your situation is a horrible plan 9 times out of 10. I understand that some folks may have NEVER had a good family background and that’s all they know, but continuing the cycle is still stupid.

Personally, I wouldn't want my parents to be charged, too. I had both and they provided everything for me. But I just happen to be a greedy child. Who went out and stole more. Since I was 7-yrs-old. And it continued as I aged. No fault of my parents.
