    Sir, after having a snow dog for a while and being part of a few groups here a couple of point. Go through and tighten your engine bolts and apply some lock tight, confirm all of your fasteners are tight they loosen up allot during shipment across the big pond. Your choke on your bars will not out of the box put you to full choke, if you are in cold weather fold your bars over and apply choke manually to start. Good idea to change out your spark plug to a good NGK not the Russian crap that is in it. Always and I mean always shut off your gas manually when you go to transport! The shaking of the dog will cause fuel to leak down into your crank case and lock you up. You can place allot of weight on the dog, I would suggest a auger mount, and also fish finder mount on the frame to lock you into the spot on the move. If you have the seat or a spare chair you can set this thing up for the run and gun option. If you are going to be running more on just ice then I suggest putting some Kold Kutter Ice Studs in the track they will help out a lot. They are simple machines easy to work on but be prepared when on the ice to fix them like any machine the work great until they don't.

    • @shoenee_1039
      @shoenee_1039 2 года назад +1

      Oh and also you can direct the exhaust away with a simple mod of attaching a bathroom support bar and cutting off the end, it will get it outside the frame. However you only typically have this issue if you are sitting down on a chair while operating.

    1. We NEED the story on how you won this wicked little thing!!
    2. Auger mount on one side & rod holders, ice skimmer holder along the other side & a spot for your Vexilar and BAM you got yourself a totally mobile hole-hopping setup, you won't even have to get out of the sled!

    I have had a snowdog 2 years and it's a simple yet efficient machine. I am older and it is my mobility scooter for ice. I am not ready to quit hole hopping yet. Keep a eye on the chain tension. I have motorcycle saddlebags brighter lights and a top auger mount on mine. I also have a very modified clam kenia pro with a 360° seat swivel that I pull and ride in. If you want to see my set up or race snowdogs lol , I could meet on metro area lake sometime.

    Congratulations on winning a snowdog! I just purchased one 2 weeks ago here in northern Utah but without reverse. I have a stud kit for it and was told it hooks up insanely well with studs on early ice. I’ve taken it out to a snow sledding spot with my kids and was the coolest dad out there pulling all the kids around. Excited to see what you do with it, I may copy some of your ideas lol the heated grips are a life saver!

    I have a Snow dog also. I installed 10" pvc pipe to both sides of the length of the dog and capped both ends. I did this in the unfortunate event if the ice breaks and go through the dog will float and not sink to the bottom of the lake. I also installed them on the sled and on my 2 man clam ice shack.

    I’m going on my second year with mine. Ice fishing is what it was designed for, however I’ve found it the undisputed champ at getting me and a bobcat hound deep into the far hidden places those critters like to live. Word of caution on running snow covered two-tracks the snowdog has a tendency to flip easily in ruts fresh powder is no problem. Having boogie wheels like the old school snowmobiles running it in dirt and grass is not gonna wreck slides and a wheeled sulky with or without a seat is a nice option but kinda pricey. There is two dealers in northern LP of Michigan -good warranty too.

    I’m going into my 3rd season with my snowdog & it’s great! It’s so small & compact that storing it is easy & it fits on back of the pickup so no need to drag a trailer around. Only complain is be careful when starting it when it’s super cold out as it sometimes likes to takeoff whether you’re ready or not.

    Have had a snow dog for three seasons. I get a ton of looks running on early ice. Trans port mine on a wheel chair platform hooked to my truck. Grand kids have a ball on it. Super compact easy to store. Run it on a furniture dolly to wheel around the garage. Very fun reliable units. Built to last. Love your Chanel. Love in MN myself.

    I bought mine last year at the end of ice, just got back from our first day trip up north on Wednesday. Kold Kutter studs for the track are a must, auger mount and a bin to keep your flasher in and you should be good to go. I put mine on a cargo hitch carrier with a small ramp for hauling. I am in Savage and will keep an eye out for ya this winter. Lots of modifications can be done to it, but I suggest making a trip or two before figuring out what really needs to be modified. I also suggest ski googles too, I have some with switchable lenses, including hi-viz yellow for night time.

    Mount a .50 caliber B.M.G. ! Yeah I saw one of those with Winter Camo back in February 2018 at the annual Lake Winni Derby up in Meredith N.H. , wish I had $4,000 to drop on one but it seemed great ( the guy drivin'was dragging 2 sleds behind with gear and his buddy with his gear and they were cookin' across the Ice at a good speed ) , bonus is I don't think you have to register them like a snowmobile. Grand Master SOBI please send some Ice to the Northeast soon as I'm Jonesin' to get on the Frozen Tundra. I read the comments, someone already warned you on your flipped boggie wheels, when you are too aggressive with it ,by jumping logs or ditchs or snowbanks beware of damage to the primary clutch system. They do pull alot , do not free spin that track in air than when it comes back in contact with the ground it'll damage your primary drive line. I love mine

    My buddy has one. He marine epoxied a folding canvas chairs legs to the sled, says it’s much more comfortable than standing cause he’s 6’3” and he needed to kinda lean over due to the handlebars being kind of low. Strictly uses it for pond and lake ice fishing tho.

    Your rear bogie wheels are flipped. You will need to lift the rear of the machine and rotate them counter clockwise 90°. It puts extra stress on the machine with them being flipped.
    You are going to love this machine. Also studs are a must! I run 5/8 kold kutters.

    They had them at the 2018/19 ice show up stairs. And believe they got a dealer in River Falls WI still. They are a sick year round tool/toy. Been kicking around buying one myself. As for decking it out it's endless. First and foremost I'd get the nebulus emergency flotation bag for early ice. Will save you and the snow dog if you ever went through. After that gotta up grade some light on it and definitely need some rod holders. I believe Scotty has some attachments for round pipe. Have fun with it. And if you ever get to the St. Croix River valley with it I'd love to see it in action.

    Look into the engine they have lots of carburetor issues with that engine. There is a video of a guy unloading it from the dealer and carb is already bad. My buddy has one that carb messed up also and filled engine with fuel. Add a inline fuel shutoff. The one on the carb is not enough and anytime u aren’t using shut the fuel off. So if carb does stick open fuel won’t flow and fill engine.
