Cut Jaden a break. He didn't have real life buffs with shadow mist or air man (Stratos in manga) to get other cards. Contact fusion with neos the hard way was terrible too 😂. Yami yugi and Joey played a lot of terribly convenient combos nobody should try in real life. Though 4:54 bubbleman was toned down to be only a special summon in real life (need empty hand for drawing) and was impossible to do in rush duel. 7:19 extenze spell card oh God 😂 14:38 avian lol I saw that card twice for no reason; I think they meant necro Gardna with card trooper and Sparkman with fusion recovery.
Honestly heros in real life are resource hungry. That why they were given so many new resource gathering support over the recent years. It not easy being a fusion deck.
@jeremysnowden1286 contact fusion was resource heavy and the anime is full of people using impractical stuff (why would kaiba use ring of defense or saggi if it only works with ring of destruction/crush card, though peten was a good retrain to be tribute fodder, deck thinner and stalling), though yugioh gx is generally accurate to the tcg outside of the sabatiel philosopher's stone, power wall and ma'at (manga) nerfs.
Viper voiced by Sean Schemmel is beyond awesome. I never noticed the voice before but given DBS brought an evil Goku to the series, the grit in the voice is unmistakeable.
Throughout this entire duel, I could not believe that Jaden didn't draw a single field spell to get rid of Venom Swamp. I don't know if he still runs Fusion Gate or Hero City in season 3, but come on! He's got at least two others, and that swamp gave him more trouble than any other card this duel.
He does, and I think he has a "skyscraper 2" field spell too lol But I think he uses them less often to his ability to contact fuse, and with some of the insane abilities his Neos fusions have, he doesn't always need the extra 1000 ATK that skyscraper offers.

At this point in the game's/anime's history, only one field spell can be in play at a time, and if a new field spell is activated, the previous one is destroyed. Jaden's field spells outnumber Viper's 4-1, or at least 4-3. Surely he could draw just one of them to out the Venom Swamp that's been killing him this entire duel?

Now this was an epic duel, there are rarely any duels where the protag is always on the backfoot, it's always an ebb and flow back and forth kinda duel until the final play, but this was a struggle from the off, Jaden couldn't counter anything Viper had effectively

True, but being unaffected by any other card effects means the only way to power her up is by sending more reptiles to your GY. Plus, if your opponent finds a way to banish all your reptiles from the GY, not only will she be rendered powerless but also can't be revived once destroyed!
I went from not caring for this duel originally, to liking this duel, to being sour on this duel because the choreography on Jaden is just him shilling the new cards at the time which I don’t like Plasma vice is a cool monster personally Marine Aqua dolphin is whatever Bubble wand on Bubbleman is just wha? Necrodarkman I wanna like, but its stat and effect just leaves me puzzled And That weird spirit gargoyle bat thing that just removes cards in the grave is very random

Lol, once in the previous season. But yeah, the dub is full of animation errors of cards that shouldn't be in certain characters' decks. The sub doesn't have those errors, but for some reason the dub redrew the cards so that they wouldn't include names or effect/flavor text. Why it was so hard for them to simply blow up the card artwork that was literally right in front of them is entirely beyond me.
It an shame how much the dub has to change the tone of the series, which is odd cause the og at least got away with some, but gx and specially 5ds got changed 10:18 Ummm, ojama yellow? Jaden? Was that an dub error or did chazz lend him his cards?
