Regardless the original version of this song premiered on 1985, this is the kind of music that WILL NEVER DIE. 1980's was and will be the BEST decade for EVERYTHING, specially music. The best music was produced in the 80's. Nothing like 80's music. Nowadays music misses a lot of things that will never make it be better than 80's music and where you listen of play this kind of music people will crowd the dancefloor like a plague, thing that doesn't happens very often with today's music. LONG LIVE 80'S MUSIC!
Movies and TV shows were way better in the '80s with real producers and writers using their imagination and gifts. Now movies and shows are using AI, CGI and green screens with boring actors and dialogue. Nothing is funny. They killed comedy, but I feel the older generations are bringing it back.
Totally agree with you friend. I remember buying the soundtrack just for this how disappointed was I. Lol. But 30 years later iv finally found it and omg I'm dancing. The bit wen thay look at each other and that music. I kept rewinding the video to that part. Love the extentend version as well. I said out loud that you nailed it. Cheers friend.
All the fantastic people commenting here thank you to celebrate Some Kind of Wonderful I'm 30 years old but I had the deepest crush for this 1987 movie and I've always felt the Duncan crashing on party scene as haunting because of this track at the back god bless you all
Truly one of the greatest scenes and ending to a perfect movie. This song and the way the movie and those final moments are scored is brilliant and gives me shivers every time. When Keith realizes he loves Watts as she looks at him so vulnerably from the car. That moment!! THAT ENDING!!!!!! “You look good wearing my future” 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭😭
One of my absolute favorite romantic endings of a film. I actually came close to it in real life except the friend I fell for chose Amanda Jones. If you end it with Watts walking down the street crying that is what befell me. And not too long ago that it doesn’t still sting. Cheers.
I'm literally so emotional as I listen to this. I remember hearing it in the film and was like wow. Here I am in 2022 going yessss at last iv found it makes me cry in a good way. Lol x
Oh my God. I Love this thing. It's for ever and ever and ever. Thanks Bros. I'm from Bavaria. God bless Amerika and all humens thats this Song heraing ✊
I'm going to join in with everybody...THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!!! I looked forever and would always get mad that I couldn't find the version that played when Keith comes out and looks at Watts, it's THE most important moment and the best music of the whole movie...amazing 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 so glad I found this ❤
Thank you for uploading the movie version. One of the best scenes if not the best scene in any 80s teen movie. It finally hits him. The music portrays this wonderfully. Keith and Watts .......
For those of you in the USA & Canada, this movie has (finally) been released on Blu-Ray. Needless to say, it's the best home-video presentation to date (2K transfer, Dolby TrueHD audio). Not sure if this Blu-Ray is available for the rest of the world though. Cheers.
The producers tried. Director Howard Deutch, the John Hughes, and music producer Stephen Hague lobbied for another pressing but it was too late. An ‘Extended Soundtrack’ exists, but I don’t think it got a vinyl release unfortunately. That it is prominently featured in the film’s iconic lovely conclusion cements it in not only Rock but Cinema history.
This was the first thing I learnt on guitar , i would make it bit heavier ! I've still got original all the vinyl remixes n albums at home ! Love it ! ❤😁😎
Charlie and Will are Texas Royalty!!! Have you seen Blaze yet ? ( The Movie ) Charlie plays Townes Van Zandt ! It makes me homesick for the Hill Country. Charlie and Will are Legendary !
Still watching this amazing film and playing the soundtrack in 2024……much love

@@chaddeez8446 Absolutely right!
4:25 is where Keth remembered Watts reality wanted to be with him. Loved that scene.
Am I the only one ready to go back to the 80s?
Why was this never put on the soundtrack!!!! Most vital song in the whole film as Keith finally gets a clue!
Agreed! This is the ending party version I assume. I love it when synth kicks in when Keith realizes he's been chasing the wrong broad.
The scene to movie 3:01 where Amanda calls Jenns a bastard (I think) to 3:23 where Duncan bursts through the door is iconic

I'm a teenager of the 1980s, we both know that is the greatest movie ever made. Rest in power John Hughes you absolute legend.

Been looking for this for 30 YEARS. thanks so much for posting.
One part gives me chills first thing I play when I get on here thank you
I remember when this came out. I was a DJ and played all the time. So much fun back then...😋
This soundtrack, that scene...!!! "Some kind of Wonderful"
The rising synth pad is pure gold as is this entire dub version, and underscored the iconic scene in the film perfectly.

Looooove this song!
I think this was the version played on the film at the end when Keith saw Watts by the car and he realized he was in love with her.
Yes man francis!
now this is a proper DUB
i love this part of the movie ❤

I loved the way Keith looked at Watts and realized he had feelings for her. At the same time, Amanda knew it, too.
Awesome scene in the film!
YESSSSSS thank you!!!

"I don't think that's gonna be necessary."
Steve Stevens could have totally played guitar on this. It's just his style.🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
