Do You Need Nest Aware?

- Nest Aware is a subscription service that goes along with the Nest Doorbell and Nest Indoor and Outdoor Camera lines. Without Nest Aware the functionality and history of the cameras is somewhat limited. With Nest Aware you get access to video history, activity zones, facial recognition, and more. So is it really worth the extra cash each month to have Nest Aware? I think so, and I go over it a little more in the video. Enjoy!!

Hey everyone! Just saw that Google is changing their pricing for Nest Aware services. Looks like they are only charging a flat fee for all cameras per month now. Even with that updated information, this video still reflects my same opinion, Nest Aware is pretty much a requirement if you want to use the equipment to it's fullest capability and now with the new pricing it seems like even better of a deal especially if you have more than one device!
Tyler Miller will this new price structure affect the people with just 1 camera(doorbell)?....will it still be $5 a month
And I saw after the first year of $50 it will drop down to $30 the following years.
@@rog3rbee915 with the new prices, per month will be $6 even if you have only one camera. That would be if your account migrated to a Google account. By the other side, if the account is with Nest the $5 price per month will remain and purchase through the nest.com web site.
It's back to $50/yr
I`m charged $10/mo.... ??
Regarding the free version of the Nest doorbell/camera service...its not taking enough snapshots to be useful. It seems like if it took more snapshots or had GIF animated snapshots....or even be 24 HR FREE EVENT VIDEO HISTORY or just 24 hr video history in general would be nice...I see the competitors doing this...24hr and a few even was doing 3-7 day video history FOR FREE. Maybe they will make it so if you dont buy Nest Aware it wont be completely useless cause right now the cooldown on snapshots when there is constant motion is insane...doesnt take enough.
Please consider going to Nest website and starting a chat and asking for them to submit this feedback. If enough people ask maybe we can at the very least get something improved on the free model.
can video be saved on local drive without subscribing? Just image snapshot for past 3hours? Thank you!
Thank you for the great explanation. I was so confused why my doorbell went from full length videos to snapshots. I thought it was broken
Me too! 🙄
I'm just starting to use my nest doorbell and have a question. While viewing video, is there a way to pause it? (Like say I see something, can I pause the video to actually focus my attention on it?)
Is there a way to delete clip from your camera cause I've a a bunch from when cars would go be while I was setting up my activity zones
I need your help. The issue I have, seems to be an issue with a lot of users. I set up activity zones in my Nest app and even activity outside of the zones is triggering a notification. I don't have overlapping zones, I know I set it up properly but it is pointless. I hope you have an answer.
Does nest camera indoor support face recognition
Is there a way to add a camera to my nest aware cause I have a nest doorbell and I just installed a nest cam for my backyard and when I go to it it says no subscription upgrade to nest aware
Nest aware $6 month, Ring same thing for $3 month. Is Nest that much better than Ring? Not in my opinion.
Is it true, I heard April 8 2024 the best cameras won’t work anymore.
Can I contact 2 phones the same time to the Camara,?
Thank you for the info..
Got subscription for nest doorbell camera under my email, paid for subscription, later other family member took over for same doorbell camera under their own email, was required to pay for subscription, yet my initial subscription was not automatically cancelled (double dip) nest didn't notify me about new subscription for same camera, (if that was not family member I would never knew that someone else watching my camera) nest was unable to assure me that others cannot get a subscription for my doorbell camera and watch my every move... unhappy about that revelation...
How do you cancel a subscription?
I have two Nest cameras and I always get notifications for every little thing even its raining it sends me one if someone has any ideas how to stop it from getting them for everything even when I have the settings set
I love random stills of butterflies bro
Trust me you need Nest to wear
If you don’t have it it’s just a nightmare
If something does happen you don’t have that saved
I can’t figure out how to save my videos
How do I do the subscripcion ?
nice
I hope someone can help me as I'm running out of time, quickly. I have 4 Google nest wired cameras and the plan that's 12$ a month. What I need is to save footage/recording/clip that could be as long as an hour or 30 minutes. I did it once on my phone and for the life of me I cannot figure out how I did it. HELP....PLEASE! It's footage of my dog that died and I need it. I see people commenting and saying you can do it but HOW. I had a double concussion within one month of each other and unless I write it down I can't remember very well. I'd like to have it instead of being 10 30 second clips it would be a solid video. Help😓
Wait for the subscription that will cover all your cameras and speakers... Single price for all products. Instant activation.
Cheaper than ever. The reason why you can't buy on app is because apple charges all third-party apps that attempt to make monetary transactions through their apple products. That's why Google decided never pay apple for allowing it's clients to buy directly in its app. Did you know that if you have any android phone you will never be extra charged for purchases? That means on android we can purchase nest aware directly on the app.
They could _easily_ let users connect a SD or NAS or NVR.
Took my nest aware second
We heard that our Nest Aware pricing can get a little expensive and complicated, so we’re introducing a simple whole home pricing model. Instead of paying separately for each camera, the new Nest Aware will include all cameras, speakers and displays in your home for one low price, with even more video and event history.
We’re also introducing event-based recording, a new service built into both Nest Aware plans that starts recording only when your camera detects motion or sounds, like a dog barking or a person seen on camera, and sends you an alert so you can take action or watch the event clips at a later time. This new service will be offered alongside our existing 24/7 continuous video recording, where you can scan through your entire video history to see everything before, during, and after an event.
You can choose from two simple plans: Nest Aware, with 30 days of event video history, at $6 per month (or $60 for an annual subscription), or Nest Aware Plus, with 60 days of event video history and 10 days of 24/7 video history, at $12 per month (or $120 for an annual subscription).
Yeaaaah thanks Google, for making my video information outdated haha. Still, the overall message is the same, Nest Aware is pretty much a requirement, but now it seems like it's even better of a deal!
I know you're probably just a low level employee, but HOW ABOUT LOCAL FUCKING STORAGE. I have a NAS, I should be able to store my data in my house, not some stupid google server where you guys can do god knows what with it, without my permission.
It would appear even this update is old news. It's already changed
@@Munky332 my sentiments exactly! We shouldn't be forced into a subscription service. 🙄
Nest just doubled my Nest Aware plan from $80 to $160. Nest sucks. I cancelled yesterday. Feb 16/24 the same day they emailed me if doubling the price. I will never again buy a GOGGLE or NEST product. All… do yourself a favour and never buy these products.
Just make a new account every month solved
Tyler is doing his best to sell a google rip-off system. I'm not impressed
nice
