Bastion is an artistically excellent piece, and I've been in love with this tune ever since I first heard it. For this gargantuan arrangement (I think this is the longest video on my channel!), I drew a lot of inspiration from the famous Miles Davis album, Kind Of Blue. More specifically, I took lots of musical motifs and structural notes from So What (my favourite track on the album). While this is mostly a modal jazz arrangement, I take a couple moments to meander into some more free jazz-style stuff- I've always felt that free jazz is a logical evolution of modal jazz, so I hope sprinkling in bits of the free jazz style doesn't throw anyone off!
I've never been a person who really values perfection in a musical performance- to me, a mistake here and there just adds some character and life. This performance is not perfect- there are a couple slip-ups here and there, I make a tempo mistake in one part, but I still hope that the effect of all this is enjoyable. Cheers, y'all, and never stop loving music :)

This is REALLY well-executed, dude, I love how this sounds. The modal influence is exceptionally clear, and you pull off the feel so well. Your playing is super accurate, especially the part around 6 minutes. I didn't think I'd be able to stick around to hear this long of a solo piano arrangement, but this is actually very engaging! I'd love to hear this recorded in a studio or just with a better setup one of these days. Again, this is super great! If anything, maybe keep the arrangement just a bit shorter for the general listening audience, nice job!

Listening to your arrangement makes me think of "Equinox" by John Coltraine mixed with "All Blues" by Miles. damn fine job Greg. You're free form method of arranging is pleasant and the musician in me deeply respects and admires your work.

Yeah man! You should try to make giant improv playlists and tracks like Kyle Landry. I'd really listen to that a lot. Great work on the modulations and the sneaky figures in the melody

This is super cool stuff Gregory. The 'So What' influence is really clear, but I also enjoyed the moments where you go into more of a high-swing style solo (like around the 6:30 mark). Like Carlos said, I'd love to hear you properly mic'd, or using a high end VST!
