The wild cockroaches that human structure inhabiting roaches evolved from are the ones that will persist after we're gone.
Tardigrades are overated. Although they can persist in harsh environments, they cannot live in them, only taking a really long time to die. As they have no way to protect themselves from common threats, they get killed by the millions easily by any other animal, including other tardigrades. Their resistance to absurd situations never really comes to hand as their lifespan is only a year.

You didn't read all of the entire set of Encyclopedia Brittanica. Because for most of that time that was your only way of learning about these. I wish I had had the access to all this information that I now have in seconds. Young people truly cannot grasp at what an amazing thing that all this technology brings you. It must be similar to living half your life without electricity and half with it and all the new appliances that were run by the electricity. And similar to spending half your life unable to read and half having learned to. Like before being able to control and start fires and half your life without the heat and light and protection and the cooking of having fire. I'm so sad that our lives are so short even if you live to be 100. There are so many amazing things and technology and medical advances that we are just going to miss. But I'm glad that my children and definitely my grandchildren will get to live with all the amazing advances.

I plan to build an area for a birdbath in which I will terrace the space, add moss, and call it Tardigrade Terrace. I hate having to take the moss of of the roof, but we have plenty of moss everywhere else in the wet months.
I'm curious how nuclear accidents have affected these little guys. They're (figuratively) one Comic Book science accident away from being able to beat Superman.
Lord Bloodraven a nuclear power plant accident would last many, many years more than a thousand years and even with the 40% protection against radiation it will most likely kill it overtime but if it’s a water species it may have a “better” chance because the water around it absorbs the radiation but even then radioactive water and no food Cus the source of Food is probably dead or radioactive, it may shrivel up for 30 years but I don’t think that the radiation will out last them.
