Thank you for actually weighing, throwing calipers on them, and stating what size rim (inner width) you put them on . It blows my mind how many people review tires and never mention if the weight is true to advertised, the width is true to advertised. Guess once my rekon race's wear out I'll give these a shot. Wish more manufactures would be this accurate. Schwalbe and Specialized tires these days are no where near their advertised widths. Thanks,

Have been interested in the Scorpions but find the variety a bit confusion. The Canadian distributor doesn't list the 2.4 RC, only the 2.2. I wonder about pairing a 2.4 XC H fr with a 2.2 XC RC rr. Or just going 2.4 all around with the 2.4 XC H. Would like to see Bicyclerolling resistance test the RC to see how they stack up against the Racing Ray/Ralph, Mezcal, etc.

I was down there last year at Huachuca Tuscon Phoenix and Sedona....I agree with something more aggressive upfront.
If you're sticking with the brand, Ground Control for Specialized up front. The setup I used there, but also on the East Coast, and also happened to be working good in Arkansas where my parents live and Belgium where I live now is the Forekaster and Ardent Race. There is a weight penalty, but the Ardent Race is quite burly for a fast roller, and the Forekaster punches well above what it's design would suggest...but be careful with the Forekaster..I guess they've redesigned the tire as a "downcountry" and some not so beneficial changes if you like the original. Another setup is the Vittoria Barzo + Mezcal which is hugely popular here in the EU....to the point that it's almost impossible to find the Mezcal in anything but 27.5. It is also a super famous tire in the Tour Divide where almost half of the bikes on the tour ran them.
I do have the older Scorpion that LoveMTB mentioned and I'll be honest...I don't like it. It looks a lot like the Conti X-King, quite heavy and not very fast rolling. I mainly picked it up for the super mud we get here in Belgium through the winter months, but I only have a couple rides on it and swapped it.
