I’ve known Becca since we were young kids at summer camp. Y’all saved her life. So thankful to every single one of you
I was climbing in the black and the night before embarking on the biggest scariest climb of my life, we were telling the park rangers of our plans and the man just shakes his head and says "Go big, we'll come get ya!". Not only did this put my mind at ease and enable us to push ourselves with confidence, but beyond that, guess who was there to greet us as we topped out. The same caring ranger who unbeknownst to us was keeping a watchful eye us the whole day. The rangers and SAR team of the black are true friends and we are all lucky to have you. Thanks for everything you do.
so nuts. glad shes okay. good souls made it happen.
Thank you SAR saving my cousin Becca! My family and I were so scared we were gonna lose her!!
What a story. Big thank you to all of the rescue teams that put in the time and apply their expertise to help others. You guys are real heros
FanFUCKINGtastic! New to the community, working in the ER nearby, and I can absolutely attest to the dedication and humanity of the SAR community in this region. Thanks for all you do to keep the adventurous spirit of this area and those that explore it safer and more survivable.
Such an incredible story and incredible team!! Thank you Black Canyon SAR for changing people's lives and bringing Becca back to us!! ❤
Love your support of SAR!
Such a great little film, what a gnarly rescue
Congrats team! Well done! In 2002 we worked with the park service on a project where we rigged a highline across the Black Canyon and then lowered a rescuer to the bottom. It was a great proof of concept but it underscored the challenges of rescues in the Black Canyon. Best to you all from an old SAR guy.
A friend of mine girlfriend died in the Black Canyon back in the 80s. I am glad you made it. Hats off SAR!
So cool to see! The rescue teams of Gunnison county are an example of the incredibly capable and selfless people you find out there
Such an incredible effort and rescue. You all are heroes!
This is exactly the kind of content I love, and I'm so glad to see it from a partnership that I value as well
What a great story and the power of people working together. Hats off to SAR teams everywhere for the devotion and dedication.
Powerful story with a happy ending.
Stay well Becca.
I’ve been on both sides of this story.
Much love for the hard men and women on the SAR TEAM.

May God Bless you ALL, Abundantly!
1:11 great story of some who volunteer risking everything to save a life.
This is in my backyard, gives me faith in humanity.
What fucking heroes man. I love those SAR guys
Have a in-reach while you are climbing in the black!
Well done SAR
My sister is married to her brother. What an amazing story Becca was blessed beyond belief.
Heroes.
Wow! I read the article when it came out in Outside, so awesome to see Becca has done so well. And what an incredible rescue with exceptional people, unbelievable. Thank you all! Any kind of link available to donate to the SAR that did the rescue? Great video, thanks for getting it out.
Hey Paul, thanks for watching and for the offer to support! Here's a link to Friends of the BCSAR's website where you can donate: www.fbcsar.org/
We so appreciate your generosity and know they do too!

❤️❤️❤️
Just got your email this is crazy
Hats off to the team and glad she’s made a full recovery! I do wonder how an experienced climber/belayer lets someone take a 30 foot fall unless the rope snapped
It was a trad climb and the protection failed when she slipped so there was nothing for him to belay.
The rock broke on me on a runout spot on 5.8 terrain. My one piece blew with the chossy rock. I was nervous going into the Black again & studied the topo like mad, I was reassured by my partner.
5.13 free solo is the perfect way to describe that hoist rescue.
