Overnight Multi-Pitch: Stranded on a Cliff with a Broken Leg

Inyo County Search and Rescue, a 2023 SAR Award winner, was selected for their quick response and flexibility to rescue a stranded climber with a broken leg on Mt. Emerson. When a helicopter evacuation became impossible, Inyo County SAR worked through the night on a highly technical rescue from a rock face against incoming weather conditions to bring the climber to safety.
