Have a question. I recently got real leather couches. The couches itself is in great condition. But the Cushions had some Scratches on it and faded color. So I went out and got some professional leather Stain off of Amazon. Well the color was off a bit. My Question to you is. Can I take off the Stain that I put on the couch cushions to match my whole couch? Thanks from Rick from St. Louis.
Hi. Thank you for this video and helpful techniques. I am going to restore my sofa and perhaps change the colour slightly. Any chance you could post your comments after some time of use? I’m mainly concerned that the paint may leave stains on clothing after some time.
Thanks for the kind words. Your concern about crocking (color transference) is addressed here: rubnrestore.com/how-to/stain-clothing/ This couch was restored in 2019 and has received daily use since. It has never stained clothing. In fact, an entire bottle of fermented chili sauce exploded all over it. Even after being refinished, this semi-aniline darkened and seemed to absorb some of the liquid, but it 'dried down'. No staining occurred. Our finishes restore color, sunscreen and protect but still allow the leather to breathe.
i used Brillo leather shoe spray on my couches, it looked fantastic but didn't last very long as it rubs off easily. Is this the same, does it last at a year if prep was done right?
I have a very light tan real leather sectional i want to turn grey. I like the rub and restore "Ash vinyl and leather finish." How many bottles do you think i should buy?
Looks good 💖I’ll have to try rub n restore on my futon. I used another brand’s leather/vinyl paint and it feels horrible. So now it lives with a beautiful velvet type slipcover
Nice job on this, I am watching different videos to try to get an idea so that I can work on a leather jacket that I have. With some of your techniques I'm going to try out, like you said experiment trial and error. Thanks for the video and techniques🙂
If the color can be erased with a damp cloth, won’t it come off of it gets damp during use? If someone is sweaty in the summer, sits down with wet hair from the shower, etc? Is there a sealant step not covered here?
I LOVE THIS COLOR! We are wanting to restore our furniture to this color. I recently sent you a few photos of our pieces of furniture, please let us know if your products will be a good fit! Thank you 🙏🏻
Dog claws will quickly scuff many leathers and their finishes, but the damage is usually superficial. Over time they may damage the actual fiber. Either way, it's easily repaired and restored, but it's best to stick with a matching color. Learn about color matching here: rubnrestore.com/how-to/match-color-leather-vinyl/

Don't buy any. The product will rub off and you will never get your money back.

Is there a way to get a very matte finish? Your videos are great and you instructions translate so well!

It comes of regardless. Don't buy. They will never refund you either.
