The Neanderthal gene data has been updated recently with all the gene sequencing we've done. Brazilian researchers working with FAU university in the states have been sequencing pre-European DNA in South America and found a small percentage of Neanderthal and Denisovan genes. Populations in the region of Panama were found to have much higher percentages of Denisovan genes, which is pretty interesting. It seems that the only population without Neanderthal genes are parts of tribal Africa. If you want to read the study, it was released at the end of 2022 in the journal "Proceedings of the Royal Society (Biological Sciences)"
The Scandinavian legends of humans fighting wars with "trolls" is the story of homo sapien fighting race wars with Neanderthal passed down over millinia. Edit; "Shoes have ruined our modern feet." Very astute.
A lot of times as a kid I would be bare foot. I just liked it more and as I grew older I found out how tough my feet were. I was able to walk on glass, hot concrete, sandspurs, hot beach sand, anything. No pain. After years of wearing shoes, my feet aren't that tough anymore.
Same here. My mom had to chase me down to get shoes on. Beginning of summer my brothers and myself had contests standing on hot concrete to toughen our feet(after 9 months wearing school shoes they were soft).
I thought the same thing when it came up in the video. 😅 Bill Burr: quick twitch/ slow twitch. 😂 Don't say where you work. You might be cancelled or fired. 🤣
Your comment about feet width and shoes reminded me of an old story by Leo Frankowski. In his "cross-time engineer" series, the protagonist encounters an old priest traveling through the mountains in poland. The first thing he notices is that the priest (who was always barefoot and had never worn shoes) had HUGE wide feet, with thick callus pads.
Just googled and got this According to current scientific understanding, most people outside of Africa have a small percentage of Neanderthal DNA, typically ranging from 1-4% of their genome, meaning that a large portion of the world population carries some Neanderthal DNA, particularly those with European or Asian ancestry; however, people of African descent generally have very little to no Neanderthal DNA in their genomes

I’m 53 now, but I know as a kid I also wore shoes as little as possible. I would play inside and outside without shoes. An even now if I’m inside my house I’d be barefoot and when I’m working in my backyard I’ll be barefooted. Don’t get me wrong I’m not leaving the house barefooted. I’m a Union Boilermaker Welder so I have my heavy steel toe boots on to protect my feet, but once I get off of work I’ll take them off and put on my tennis shoes or a pair of crocs when I get in my truck. One of the best feeling is when I takeoff those Heavy Clunky Boots and put my Tennis or Crocs on

We can make man-made diamonds indistinguishable from natural diamonds. We should figure out how to make man-made ivory, it could go a long way toward protecting vulnerable species.
Not skipping through that specific ad spot specifically is definitely a worthy cause. And transparency about where your funds actually go is rare. I appreciate you hearing that out, because I know you will mostly skip ad reads. Just my opinion, and it may be controversial, there are more animals that deserve to be saved than people.
You dont need to not wear shoes for a few years to see how shoes effect how we walk/run. Go for a run with shoes on and most will probably land on their heal. Do a run without and your probably land on your toes.
I carry 213 strands of Meaderthal DNA. My sport of choice was Bicycle Time Trails. Like most of the best time trialists, I am larger than most cyclists. I am 5'10" at 217 with less than 10% body fat. I leg press 1600 lbs in 45 reps. The trainer has no idea of a maximum lift for me as the machine is at capacity. But yeah, thick limbs and heavier bones came with the package. On the fun side, I can intimidate with a look. Police fear me even though I am compliment at a traffic stop. My wife likes it. She does poke some fun at it. Would I trade that for late-model monkey(common human) DNA? NO. The other thing about the Neaderthals is they were smarter pound for pound than humans.
I have an o- blood type. We are biologically geared to eat meat. Now I know a lot of o- blood types that eat anything and everything. Meat veggies, fruit. So don’t take this as me saying all o-‘s are pure carnivores. I love stew the most because it breaks down all the flavors and combines them in a manageable way for me. But most raw fruits and veggies make me gag. It’s too much flavor. It’s overwhelms my senses. Thusly I’m a carnivore. Not by choice. I would love to indulge like some of these vegans who look they their about to pop their pants biting into a beet. I’d throw up.
I have Neanderthal dna 🧬 according to 23 & me. I’ve been obsessed with meat my entire life & I’m strictly carnivore & eat the fat too. Definitely not hairy but my hair gets thicker & bigger than Diana Ross lol 😂.
I can see in the dark, I've got hair all over my body, im barrel chested and i've got a huge head. To top it off im the most pro winter cause i sweat sitting down doing nothing at 70 degrees, but if its 40s to 60s im chilling
As someone with 2% Neanderthal DNA I can attest that you are correct about the hair thing. Not gonna get too personal but yeah. I always say I get it from my dad. He has hair everywhere but his head.
Respectfully, you are incorrect on not having neanderthal DNA. Everybody in the world, except for very few select tribes in Africa and Austrailia, have either neantherthal or denisovan DNA or both (1 - 4%). The few tribes in the world that didn't migrate, are the only ones without it. Please research Dr. Svante Paabo, a Swedish geneticist and Nobel Laureate (2022) who specialises in the field of evolutionary genetics. Dr. Paabo is one of the founders of paleogenetics, and has worked extensively on the Neanderthal genome. His discoveries concerning the human genome in ancient hominins and human evolution is extraordinary.
I'd also like to note that neantherthals may have not been killed off, but absorbed into our DNA. It is currently being studied and a plausible hypothesis.
It depends on what meat you are eating for 70% of your calories. If it's Wagyu beef bacon burgers you wont be very healthy... a variety of Fish, poultry, and leaner red meats could be healthy if you need that much protein. If you don't need the protein your body will just turn it into sugar and store it as fat... which makes no dietary sense. You just need a caloric deficit.
Your "Hairiness hypothesis" probably wrong. While eastern Asians mostly interbred with Denosovians, Neanderthal cousins, they can have a higher percentage of Denosovian DNA and east Asians aren't hairy.
Yes I know it's in both me and my father. But we dont have body hair we grown hair down past our bums on our heads but my father had no body hair and could only grow a part goatee. People think o shave my legs but I dont they are just very light and very few.
MrLboydReacts hairiness is just a high testosterone effect. Thats why women who are post menopausal have issues with hairiness.. Its also why the vid clip u used in your cool video mentioned high hormones in neanderthals. Hope that helps.

yes, Carnivore diet works for healthy lifestyle. You be stronger healthier and less fat.
As a carnivore I will say it is better for energy, mental health, and maintaining acceptable weight.
We can make man-made diamonds indistinguishable from natural diamonds. We should figure out how to make man-made ivory, it could go a long way toward protecting vulnerable species.
It already exists I'm sure. But like many things considered valuable, our society values rarity and exclusively, which also plays a part.

This just reminded me. Cave lions from back then terrify me. Lions the size of grizzly bears or something that size.
Its strange that we don't really even officially know what Neanderthals actually even looked like.

On the body hair portion, i believe that in paler ppl hair kinda substitutes the protection from temperature and uv rays that melanin typically does
I'm mostly European and also have Neanderthal DNA.
There was only one small set of Africans that left Africa and mixed with the Neanderthal. Africa still has the most genetic diversity.
