Very helpful and well produced video. I started to purchase this particular laptop until I saw the single fan for thermals. Thank you for saving me some big bucks.

How can I get the battery in the video? I have the 51Wh model, but i can't find any ufficial store to purchase a genuine battery of 76Wh (WP06XL). The computer model is the same with a i7 1255U and 16GB of RAM

Is that a spare m.2 pcie slot below the fan? looks to be 2230 or 2242 in size. Thanks!

Spare M.2 slot is for LTE WAN module. Some EB960 G9 are equipped with FM350-GL module of M.2 30*52 factor. Unfortunately, you may not use it for another SSD.

Thank you, I was considering to buy one of these, but I can't imagine using a laptop without two different storage drives. You are 100% sure it doesn't support second ssd? That's idiocy from HP.

@@millancche I hear ya, I bought this HP laptop regardless because everything else seemed so good. However, I returned it because the display was the worst I've ever seen in recent memory. The latency was AWFUL. Reminded me of my very first LCD 25 years ago.
I ended up getting an XPS 15, still had SODIMM slots and two 2280 slots. No numpad is a bummer, ended up buying a bluetooth one. I think the 15's still have slots as they're not using the Core Ultra line yet like the XPS 16. I'm guessing that's about to change. Overall I recommend the current gen XPS 15 if you're looking for something still upgradeable/repairable.

@@andrewt9204 thanks. I've acually been an it technician /trader foir a while, and I can testify that HP Probook 400/600 and Elitebook 800/1000 series in their respective pre-2020 generatons were awesome best buy, often better even then comparative ThinkPad and Dell Latitude laptops. Very durable, reliable and upgradeable. Seeing only one proper storage option, and a fan that blows into screen case, and a bad screen as you say, in a top of the line HP business laptop is so sad and disappointing.

Can you make a video removing the keyboard? Thanks!

Hi .... I hope I get my answer 🤞 i have seen many recent videos on your channel but I am surprised to see how easier it is to open back panel to upgrade or replace anything .. my old laptop ( bought in 15) was budget one so i had to open it's keybord, then disconnecting clips of display and touchpad to upgrade SSD.... I mean it was complicated and needed some focus, but now I see it's easier on latest laptops. . so question is - why was it designed like it and was this only limited to budget laptops!! Do super budget laptops still use that design!!! Why laptop brands choose easier option now inspite of that old one! Don't you think it would be good for them to loot people by making complicated stuff!! How warranty void by just opening laptop back panel is different from apple's infamous right to repair saga!! Thanks

Hi, our best guess is that older laptops, especially the ones that are more affordable, had really poor keyboards, which used to break quite often. Having the keyboard be the first thing you open makes it significantly easier to change it.
Another reason for that might be the fact that previously, there were a lot of notebooks that had service covers on the bottom panel for easy access to the memory and storage. Respectively, the trend went to removing the easy access and replacing it with the need to take out the entire bottom panel, which is not too easy for beginners. But then, manufacturers like HP (in this case), started securing the panel with only a few captive screws, so you can't lose them.
Option number three would be that laptop designers changed their approach purely because of aesthetics. Having the clips on the bottom makes the surface look pretty clean. And about the Apple remark, keep in mind that non-Apple laptop manufacturers face huge competition. In some cases, users go for the device, which is easier to maintain.
Of course, there might be other reasons for the change of approach, but as soon as laptops have memory and storage slots, we are going to find a way to open them up! :)

@@LaptopMedia first of all thank you for your efforts to give answer to someone called ' didn't ask g' 😆.
But thanks for sharing such valuable knowledge. . Learnt too much from your reply... As you mentioned it's competitive industry , I don't know profit margin of budget laptops but in phones Xiaomi takes just 5% and they earn more profit by their own preloaded and sponsered apps... .. some mobile battery manufacturers make third party batteries but their battery capacity isn't same what we get from original battery, making phone slimmer and lighter with larger battery is some kind of magic.. I mean it's actually very tough market to give latest technology at reasonable prices...
Again thanks for sharing your experience and wisdom .

The guys gave you a great answer already, and while almost everything is easier to replace on modern ones, and so much nicer and slimmer, replacing a keyboard is so much more expensive and difficult. Also on budget laptops that are built this way plastics breaks very easily around hinges. Not a problem for this type of laptop, or Probook 400/600 , but a HUGE ssue for HP 15/250/17, Dell Inspiron/Vostro, cheap ASUS models etc.
