It is better to watch the episodes than the movie, they show more scenes and more content, for me it is better to watch the episodes and I watched both the movie and the series
@@juandavidbuitragolopez697 first of all there are no extra scenes other than some different camera angles and the rengoku episode. Just for some camera angles you're gonna make him watch episodes? which will destroy the build up the movie makes for the ending. Imagine changing episodes, skipping opening and ending, getting annoyed by cliffhangers, getting the soundtrack interrupted because of the op and ending, taking breaks in between. While you have the option to experience all of that in one sitting... I just gave all the disadvantages of watching in the episodic order. Give me one single advantage of watching in that order apart from those different "camera angles''. The only extra thing is the rengoku episode which can be watched before the movie and that's it. No content will be missed.
@@Pathetic-Ali Don't worry, I just wanted to give my point of view to him, it is more entertaining and fun, we are not professional critics looking to give a score to something or at least I am not, it is just entertainment, I only said it so that he has it in mind. account, he decides how he sees it
Movie is a whole experience of the arc in one go and its a true emotional rollercoaster the 8 episodes have like 2/3 minutes of extra filler scenes and a few scenes are better done, but because its all cut it does not leave that kind of feeling which you will have in the movie
I do think the extra filler is absolutely worth it though. There is already not enough world building in demon slayer so I would always recommend the episodes I quite liked the extra detail. Also when you binge watch it then its really not that bad. And you have more time to process and talk about the episodes if you watch with cuts. I disagree with you actually. I do not know which episodes have more extra stuff though. Isn't it just the first? Can't remember. He could do a compromise and watch the first episode and then the movie. That would work right?
Rui's back story was so sad.. like you literally go from hating him typically or finding him alright, to just feeling bad and end up growing attached to him.
And really drives home how much of a predator Muzan is; not just on the literal sense but also how he is an expert on picking those vulnerable people and manipulating them. Rui was a small sick child, what happened to him was tragic.
@KauanFelipe-px1qq Rui himself said that his memory loss was gradual as he kept killing humans, he didn't start out as evil as he was. Regardless, perhaps I would feel worse if we got a look into the other family demons' lives and saw that they were evil as humans. But it seems like even as demons, the older sister he killed and the mother had some sort of humanity left and were just desperate to survive.
One thing I want to point out was Rui got a form of redemption but his "sister" from last episode didn't. Despite Rui objectively speaking having caused more harm and grief. I think the difference is Rui at the end was able to admit his mistake, while the other Demon till the end refused to take responsibility and insisted on her being victim absolved her of any wrong doing.
At the same time though, Tanjiro has fought other demons who got a redemption of sorts who didn't take responsibility. I think it really just depends on what happened with them and if someone was there to empathize with them. I think the only demons Tanjiro didn't empathize with were the swamp demon (and even then That was focusing on the fear of Muzan issue, so he did empathize and killed him, but he wasn't empathizing with his backstory as that wasn't the focus), and then the arrow demon, and that was prolly because tanjiro was still being attacked until the last minute and even afterward was trying to get back to the other fight. But the hand demon didn't take responsibility, he just started to remember being human. The temari demon didn't take responsibility, but we came to understand she was a child who just wanted someone to play ball with. Even the drum demon just wanted someone to recognize and appreciate his work. He never regretted eating anyone.
one of the aspects of demon slayer that I find most interesting is the “good” characters that choose to go to hell & suffer with their loved ones rather than go to literal heaven. its so powerful. I love demon slayer & its writing so much
4:42 the power gap between the 12 demon moons themselves is sorta hard to explain mainly because they dont scale linearly in general but to explain why would be giving away the identities and abilities of them too which obviously is a massive spoiler 8:02 yup, muzan turns people into demons by exploiting their human vulnerability; the hand demon just wanted his older brother to hold his hand, the temari demon just wanted someone to play ball with and now rui the spider demon just want familiar ties because he lost what he didnt know he had 22:04 shes alos 1 of the participants who passed the final selection at the mountains too 23:20 just to let you know, the fandom ships these 2 (giyu and shinobu kocho, the butterfly girl) because of how funny their interactions are with giyu playing the straight man to shinobu's wise guy act
Let’s just say that there is a humongous jump from Lower Moons to current Upper moons. Minor Spoiler alert !!! Then we can say that upper moons 6 and 5 are kind of equal, then upper moon 4 is again a jump in power and then there are just big jumps. Upper 3 is way weaker than Upper 2 and Upper 1 might himself hold half of the power of The Twelve Kizuki.
And another reason that we can't scale the power of the 12 moon because each upper moon have strength in their ways that hard to compare, and the lower moon, we don't know much about them
They really do make you feel for the villains like you were saying Luke. It is really sad when you hear about Rui's backstory. I think the most sad part though is how Rui actually forgot how his parent truly felt about him. And Muzan being the evil being that he is told him that his parents didn't "accept" him when that wasn't really the reason. I understand what he meant, but he totally twisted to make Rui stronger without having to think about or care about his parents in a loving manner. Damn Tanjiro even after all he did he was still treated Rui with kindness and put his hand on his back before he completely vanished. And that wholesome moment with Rui's parents. This anime man! 😭
Japanese people generally use first names in informal situations, such as when they are close to the person, talking to someone younger or of lower status, or when referring to children. Japanese also list last name first which can make it confusing depending on whether people list the name how Japan would or correct it for English+ speaking audiences(like I did below). Giyu Tomioka- Water Hashira Shinobu Kocho- Insect Hashira So Kocho is Shinobu's family name and Tomioka's first name is Giyu. Since these two are not close/friends they refer to each other by their last names. It does make it hard to know who is being spoken about when you have to memorize their first AND last names plus any nicknames... Then there is Inosuke and how he refers to people by 'name'. As for the Upper and Lower Moon demons... There is a big divide between the two groups in power with a few asterisks in the ranks due to reasons. I'll try to mention the ranking asterisks when it is no longer a spoiler for whichever demon gets an asterisk.
24:28 i feel like his heart would skyrocket if he saw videos where a little girl got to cosplay as nezuko and actually have fun running around the convention. and the cool part is that the guy cosplaying as tanjiro actually carried a box backpack with her inside.
The movie and episodes are almost identical. The episodes are a little more detailed because they weren't limited to 2 hours but it doesn't effect the story, the episodes also have ad breaks and Taisho secrets added. The movie flows better because there's no cuts, but you could just record multiple episodes at a time. I don't care which you watch do what is easier for you, ust don't skip the movie ending or episode 7 ending.
8:00 The horror of how each demon used to be a person gets worse when you remember that there are three "good" demons left, and the danger to their sanity if they ever give in to their hunger. Muzan's venom has poisoned their very souls.
Technically 4, Nezuko, Tomato, Yushiro, and the 4th one being the random man that got turned into a demon in Asakusa by Muzan who wanted a distraction to get as far away from the scary swordsman with Hanafuda earrings (Tanjiro)
The reason why it you only saw 4 people during the final selection, but Kagaya knew about 5, is because the 5th was Inosuke. You don't see him because he ran into the forest early and excited, did what had to do, got out and didn't stick around. I would love to see an episode about his time in the Final Selection. The final 5 are Tangiro, Genya, Zenitsu, Kanao and Inosuke.
I really love that you are already starting to like the hashiras, they are really lovely people and very important, The one with the yellowish hair it's one of my favorites too!
Important character lists: Muzan Kibutsuji = Michael Jackson Tanjiro Kamado = MC Nezuko Kamado = MC's sister, cute demon Giyu Tomioka = The one that helped Tanjiro and Nezuko in the first episode, One of the current Hashira Sakonji Urokodaki = The one who trained Tanjiro, a retired Hashira Tamayo and Yushiro = Good demons Zenitsu Agatsuma = Yellow boy, crybaby Chuntaro = Zenitsu's bird, best character Inosuke Hashibira = boar mask swordsman, Best girl Shinobu Kocho = Butterfly girl, one of the current Hashira Murata = Strongest background character Jigoro Kuwajima = Zenitsu's master, former Hashira, different surname as they aren't actually related, dispite Zenitsu calling him gramps Hotaru Haganezuka = Tanjiro's swordsmith, crazy bastard, very passionate about swords Kagaya Ubuyashiki = Leader of the Demon Slayer corp
One great thing about Tanjiro (and Demon Slayer as a whole) is that while his is deeply emphatic person who want to help others, he's not annoyingly naive person, who always goes "We can't kill these monsters, we have to find an another way!" In this stories almost all demons are monsters, who have been and will keep on killing innocent people if they aren't stopped. Tanjiro is able to fight and kill his opponents, but it doesn't mean he can't care about them. In many cases killing some demons is an act of kindness, as their lifes can be constant torture. And then there's demons like Muzan, who shouldn't be allowed to live.
With how he is with cliffhangers, he will probably enjoy the movie more. But if he doesn't mind the cliffhangers too much by then, the episodes are better
'is that dude really big or are they really tiny?' a bit of both actually. Big giant man is, canonically 7' 2, meanwhile Shinobu(butterfly lady) is 4'11.5 and the teal haired guy is 5'3. So it's both. And from that group shot we're missing 3 of them, since there's a total of 9.
I got my friend to watch Demon Slayer and the one think she would always comment about was the humanity. It honestly does it so incredibly well. What you say about the injuries too, i think it goes hand in hand with the whole humanity thing. They want to make it incredibly clear that while yes they are very strong they are still VERY human. That's another thing i absolutely loved about this anime.
For the next season, I'll say this. My best friend watched the movie in theaters and then the episodes with me and he liked the episodes slightly more because they had more time to add more details, especially in the first couple of episodes.
I highly recommend the movie!! It is a better streamlined viewing experience and it doesn't have any of the cliff hanger draw backs from episodic viewing. You get to feel all the emotions uninterrupted from beginning to end, which I believe was intended for audiences
Luke please watch the 8 episodes, they include some slight extra scenes, and flesh out the story slightly more, then the movie could've done. Though it'll have your classic ole demon slayer cliffhangers so someone's gonna have to weight the options XD
I love Shinobu (crazy butterfly lady, Kocho's her last name) and her dynamic with Tomioka. It's like having an introvert stuck with an eerily chill extrovert who has no social filter whatsoever, just says whatever's on her mind😂 Loving these reactions so much, I cant wait for the next episode!! To answer your question without spoilers, the 12 demons ranking is that the higher you go in numbers, the more powerful they get. The upper moons are much stronger than the lower moons, and no.1 would then be the strongest underneath Michael Jackson.
Luke-san "maybe", no, "will definitely" like the guy with the yellow and red hair in the center and the tall guy on the far right, and will fall further into the bottomless swamp that is "Demon Slayer"...😂❤
Episodes are straightforward. if you watch movie the you will have to engage in weird order : EP1 - Movie - Ep7 - Next Arc. I suggest episodes for continuity.
The best version I've seen is where people watched ep 1 then the movie and then ep 2 onwards and didn't skip anything. I personally skipped the episodes the first time through and just watched the movies and regretted it years later when watching the reactors say how much they enjoyed seeing both.
Brother react to the mugen train movie after watching the part 1 of season 2, the first episode only, the rest is just the movie broken down into episodes, you in for a treat.
Yeah the episodes have a few minutes of extra filler footage but it doesn't mean much, the pacing was made for the movie and its not suitable for the episodes
When it comes to season 2, I would recommend you to watch 2x1 ("flame hashira kyojuro rengoku") first and then the movie since watching it in one sitting hits kinda different afterwards you can start season 2 where the movies left off (2x8)
Movie and Episodes are about the same tbh. Episodes have slightly more extra footage but unless your a diehard it isn't super important. Movie you don't have to deal with the cliffhangers.
@@apratimsingh1306 the fact that those "ExTrA ScEnEs" are nothing but different camera angles. The only extra thing is the rengoku episode and that's it. No content is missed.
There are plenty of Nezuko plushies if you are ever looking for one, Luke! I have quite a collection of Nezuko merch! Just love her too she is too cute! 😄
The 12 kizuki don't have a specific power gap. As a matter of fact the only reason Rui is lower 5 and not lower 2 is becuase his power is scattered withing the spider demons. The major power gap is between uppers 4,5 and 6 and uppers3,2 and 1. And of course from lower 1 to upper 6.
@@-1solrak spoiler for got: Gyutaro in question according to Muzan bring held back thx to Daki: From what we've seen he very much has the potential to be or maybe even already is stronger than Gyokko.
@@ot9103 No,i said he should watch only the 1st episode first and then the movie which makes sense for me because he loses nothing that way.Maybe you misread my comment.
There's a huge gap in strength between the upper and lower moons. The difference between Rui and Lower 1 is about what you'd expect but the gap between Lower 1 and Upper 6 is a gigantic leap. Calling them the 12 moons is kind of deceptive, it's better to think of the upper six moons as a separate group who are in a league of their own.
I think you can watch the episode first and then the movie because I think that if you understand a character well, the experience is more intense. You are VERY close to finding out the strengths of the demons according to their positions.
As a “not able to do good things to my parents before they passed” son, I cried when rui haired turned black. The meanings of it, rui crying, this scene is one that hits too close to home. It’s been 4 years since I lost my mom, When I dreamt of her, I still unconsciously cried during my sleep. What a beautiful anime
Everyone will have their own tastes, and both the movie and the episodes have their various strengths and weaknesses. Pros of the Movie - Less headache from dealing with cliff hangers, ability to experience the full ride in one sitting. Pros of the Episodes - Taisho Era Secrets, Easier to edit, a few more lines of clarifying dialogue. To answer your question regarding specific difference comparisons between individual levels has not been answered, partially because it would be considered spoiler territory, and would lead to major arguments based on speculation. You will be able to make your own judgements as the series goes along.
I liked both though for a reaction channel, and for the fact Luke is generally on a tight schedule I had that in mind when commenting. The viewing experience for episodic vs movie is different in a couple ways. Episodes gives more (albeit, minor) additions to the arc but nothing ground breaking though i enjoyed the added screen time of our favorite demon slayer team. The movie does get straight to the point and goes right into one of my favorite arcs. Can’t go wrong either way, however again, for a reaction channel it’s probably better to watch the episodes if he wants to grow his channel.
I'd say the best experience for the mugen train arc is definitely the movie! It just really makes a bigger impact on the viewer emotionally, but you should also definitely watch the taisho era secrets from the episodes, mabey as a mini reaction after the movie, or just by yourself :)
Okay, to explain the power, the reason they have that ranking is that they're allowed to challenge each other and change their ranking. So those that are where they are either get the rank from a rank dying or they beat a demon of a higher rank and take their place. This is just an in depth explanation of something the Tsuzumi demon mentioned. (The demon from the house where the 3 meet)
"The way it made you feel about everyone involved..." Exactly! It's not the type of writing that's heavy on the action, but it takes a mental toll at you the more you're invested! Yet there are people saying that this anime is mid... I just don't understand their preference 🥲
This is the reason why Tanjiro is nice to Demons, he views them as victims except Muzan. The reason Tanjiro is like this is because of his fate to Nezuko being restored. If Nezuko died from episode 1, Tanjiro will be like the main character Frieren who views Demons no mercy.
Hell yeah, the Hashira are here! Now the anime can begin. Fire hair dude is probably my favorite person in the show, although I love almost all the Hashira, can't wait for you to get to know them.

In this stories almost all demons are monsters, who have been and will keep on killing innocent people if they aren't stopped.
I am so loving your nicknames for the Hashira members it’s cracking me up😂
I can’t the day where Tengen is the most serious Hashira is the day pigs fly 😂😂😂
I don't remember crying whenever i watch anime all by myself. But whenever I watch reactors, i tend to cry as well when they do.
Me too I don't know what's going on with me😭
I got my friend to watch Demon Slayer and the one think she would always comment about was the humanity.
"and then we got the last one, looks super serious, probably takes his job super serious" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I highly recommend the movie!! It is a better streamlined viewing experience and it doesn't have any of the cliff hanger draw backs from episodic viewing. You get to feel all the emotions uninterrupted from beginning to end, which I believe was intended for audiences
Rui the Spider Demon is played by the VA that did Ant King Meruem From Hunter x Hunter.
In some degree, we all love our tapioka guy
"For some reason I'm getting good vibes from the guy in the middle"
YEEESSSS RENGOKU!! ❤😢
edit ur crying emoji
Luke please watch the 8 episodes, they include some slight extra scenes, and flesh out the story slightly more, then the movie could've done. Though it'll have your classic ole demon slayer cliffhangers so someone's gonna have to weight the options XD
Episodes.
Luke-san "maybe", no, "will definitely" like the guy with the yellow and red hair in the center and the tall guy on the far right, and will fall further into the bottomless swamp that is "Demon Slayer"...😂❤
luke: saying rengoku is his favorite so far based on looks and vibes alone
me: 🥲
Makes me sobs after hearing him say that
Episodes are straightforward. if you watch movie the you will have to engage in weird order : EP1 - Movie - Ep7 - Next Arc.
Am I dumb for shedding tears every single time I see Rui's backstory?
No don't worry you are not the only one😭
Brother react to the mugen train movie after watching the part 1 of season 2, the first episode only, the rest is just the movie broken down into episodes, you in for a treat.
Yeah the episodes have a few minutes of extra filler footage but it doesn't mean much, the pacing was made for the movie and its not suitable for the episodes
I watched ep 1 after the movie and found it a great experience. What do you think about doing it that way?
29:00 you nailed the hashiras so good!!!!!!!!
“The one with the fire hair gives me good vibes, I like him”
Ykyk
I was about to sleep when I exactly saw your video! You're back! Great reaction! :)
When it comes to season 2, I would recommend you to watch 2x1 ("flame hashira kyojuro rengoku") first and then the movie since watching it in one sitting hits kinda different afterwards you can start season 2 where the movies left off (2x8)
I agree! He should watch the first episode and then the movie after
Movie and Episodes are about the same tbh.
Episodes have slightly more extra footage but unless your a diehard it isn't super important.
Movie you don't have to deal with the cliffhangers.
Exactly, also the movie is a complete experience that isn't cut in weird moments
@@dpolaristar4634 yeah bro, the only argument people have is that episodes have extra content, that extra content isn't even worth anything lol😂
haha thats a fact. but we need the cliffhanger meme
@@apratimsingh1306true. except for the first
@@apratimsingh1306 the fact that those "ExTrA ScEnEs" are nothing but different camera angles. The only extra thing is the rengoku episode and that's it. No content is missed.
Here is a damage/power example of the Demon Ranks. Demon #5 of the Upper Six levels an entire city the size of Old Kyoto before being killed.
Wasn't that Upper Rank 6?
@@Tacsped_Warrior1 Was it!? I thought it was one rank higher. It might have been #6.
Why cant you just shut up and not spoiling anything for him?
@@putrai3717 He asked for a rank/power example, and I am being too vague about the Who, What, When, Were, and How to be spoil anything....
When rui started bawling, that's when i started bawling too
What Luke doesn't know is Rengoku is going to become his favorite character is this entire show💯💯💯💯
How about flashy Tengen?)
@@fimasstet89 Isn't that the Ninja dude?
Kind of a spoilery comment bruh
@@unisol176 not really but okay
We enjoy supporting your entertaining perspective
29:43 Luke, you shouldn’t say that… Your curse might activate.
Theres 1 episode that isnt in the movie, so if you watch the movie, watch the first episode before it
There are plenty of Nezuko plushies if you are ever looking for one, Luke! I have quite a collection of Nezuko merch! Just love her too she is too cute! 😄
I love how Shinobu teases Giyu all the time but as friends
The 12 kizuki don't have a specific power gap.
As a matter of fact the only reason Rui is lower 5 and not lower 2 is becuase his power is scattered withing the spider demons.
The major power gap is between uppers 4,5 and 6 and uppers3,2 and 1.
And of course from lower 1 to upper 6.
Rui is the only exception to the ranks confirmed in the databooks, everyone else is correctly ranked
@@-1solrak spoiler for got:
Gyutaro in question according to Muzan bring held back thx to Daki:
From what we've seen he very much has the potential to be or maybe even already is stronger than Gyokko.
I believe you should watch the first episode and then the movie.Because there is no changes in the episodes except for the 1 episode.
I desagree, If he watch the movie and then the episode the impact is deep as hell. but whichever is epic no doupt
@@ot9103 No,i said he should watch only the 1st episode first and then the movie which makes sense for me because he loses nothing that way.Maybe you misread my comment.
It's truly a roller coaster.
When Giyu steps on Louis's kimono, he gets furious!
I loved you when Giyuu came to rescue Tanjiro.😂
There's a huge gap in strength between the upper and lower moons. The difference between Rui and Lower 1 is about what you'd expect but the gap between Lower 1 and Upper 6 is a gigantic leap. Calling them the 12 moons is kind of deceptive, it's better to think of the upper six moons as a separate group who are in a league of their own.
The Movie. Rollergoster 12/10 the Episode´s good but not the insane rollergoster feeling 8/10
You can get a figure of small nezuko peeking out of the box it's so cute!
29:20 I love how he already like the guy with a firey hair (not saying names) I think hes gonna be attached to him and yeah
I think you can watch the episode first and then the movie because I think that if you understand a character well, the experience is more intense.
You are VERY close to finding out the strengths of the demons according to their positions.
The fire hair dude, you will love so much he is the coolest hashira by a mile
As a “not able to do good things to my parents before they passed” son, I cried when rui haired turned black. The meanings of it, rui crying, this scene is one that hits too close to home. It’s been 4 years since I lost my mom, When I dreamt of her, I still unconsciously cried during my sleep. What a beautiful anime
Ep 1 and then the movie gets a vote from me. The emotional impact is worth it, and the episode cliffhangers won't drive you insane.
The first episode of season 2 then the movie is definitely the best experience
UR BACK? ALREADY? I THOUGHT IT WILL TAKE FEW WEEKS😂 Im happy that you’re back🎉
Everyone will have their own tastes, and both the movie and the episodes have their various strengths and weaknesses.
The Movie and Episode for Mugen Train arc are both amazing but i feel the best way to go is episodes
no way bro, episodes will take so much longer, watch movie in one sitting best experience
I would strongly disagree. Watching the movie is the best as you don't get so many cuts and cliffhangers and also gives the viewer a flow of hype
Movie is better imo >
I support episodes.
23:58 Why does this crow sound like Mr. Crocker from The Fairly OddParents 😂
31:28 its the 'Psycho Butterfly Girl' her name is Shinobu Kocho, and they use second names if you aren't close to said person as a formality
That was epic your Holiday was a anime time skip, I love it, Bravo Sir Bravo
I would really recommend the movie its simply something that needs to be watched all the way its breathtaking
Tanjiro has the most beautiful soul ever ❤
That initial read of the hashira was pretty good!
seriously, this is every episode- So this is what. true bond feels li- (~Tsuyoku, Nareru, Riyuu wo~)
Gin and kocho interaction look like a married couple and her being the wife/mom throws some jabs and being effective at it
100% first episode then movie.
and a meme was born. Tomiyoka loving it to slap kocho. ... xD
G.O.T Games: The person on the right looks like they are the most serious
Me: Are you sure about that?
There's simply no dry eye left in Demon Slayer.
your description based on hashira's looks was really interesting lol
Dang Luke had the right idea about most of the hashira's from one frame
The “fire hair guy” is my fav boy!
I really wanna see your reaction to the movie! It was so emotional!
"The way it made you feel about everyone involved..."
Exactly! It's not the type of writing that's heavy on the action, but it takes a mental toll at you the more you're invested! Yet there are people saying that this anime is mid... I just don't understand their preference 🥲
the hashiras are people you hate at first but are gonna like when they get more screentime
This is the reason why Tanjiro is nice to Demons, he views them as victims except Muzan. The reason Tanjiro is like this is because of his fate to Nezuko being restored.
If Nezuko died from episode 1, Tanjiro will be like the main character Frieren who views Demons no mercy.
seeing bro emotional i hope he will not burst into crying in mugen train movie
and imagine him seeing tiny nezuko in s3 ep 11 he will cry again
Hell yeah, the Hashira are here! Now the anime can begin. Fire hair dude is probably my favorite person in the show, although I love almost all the Hashira, can't wait for you to get to know them.
I would watch the movie so that you don't get spoilers from the thumbnails of the episodes.
