This is extremely rare this day in age.. To see a good young man passing on information that has been handed down for generations. God bless you Catman Outdoors. It gives an old fart like me hope that all is not lost and at least some of the country still cares about our traditions and knowledge.. I hope this message finds you well and hope you are having a great spring hunt.
Very well done! I made a wingbone call when I was a teenager (I’m 58 now). I read an article in Field and Steam. I only used 2 bones and glued a piece of cork on the mouthpiece end. The article said to act like you’re kissing the call to make the sound. I was proud of my little homemade call but it didn’t sound nearly as good as yours! Good job man!👍
I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to make this video. I just finished my first wing bone call using your video as a guide. It turned out great, and sounds better than I expected. I’ll be hunting some very pressured birds this year, and I think that something that sounds a bit different than your average turkey call may come in handy.
SO impressed! A friend of mine suggested I do this with my very first turkey wings because I try not to waste anything! SO happy to find your video and see a young man using old techniques ( I’m guessing true Native American techniques at that!). Great video too!
Hey there Catman! I just wanted to let you know I made my grandson his first turkey wing bone call. It came out awesome I even itched his name in it with a few turkey tracks with the date he got it! I even used it the next day to call a 23lbs tom right in, I can't thank you enough for your awesome videos you make. Ya ever find yourself up in Michigan give me a holler, we grow some nice birds. Thanks again .
Thanks for sharing this how to . I'm 68 yrs of and just learned how to make a wing cwll., I've used every https call I could buy or make this is now on my to do list.thank you
SIR I am turning 64 at the end of may,I have loved turkey hunting since it started in mass and have checked out a lot of you tube videos and I got to say you are on your game. Not only show how to make a call but then professionally display your expertise of using said call. I have harvested a bunch of mature gobblers and have made a few wing bone calls, but never took the time to get good at it. This year I was blessed to get two gobblers, one 25 lbs, second a jake, I’ve heard that young birds make better calls, so as I’m texting you,I’m boiling the wing bones on the stove gonna make the calls you’re way and then practice.hopefully next spring,it’ll be one in my armory.
WOW! absolutely amazing! i never knew you could make a turkey call from a harvested turkey! Great video BTW, simple, well put together, entertaining and the knowledge priceless! Thank you sir!
I've made about 14 now because of this video. Great video and a nice use of turkey parts. Make great gifts for friends and family hunters. Nice that they can be super simple or extremely elaborate.
Thanks for this great video! I have always wanted a turkey wingbone call. I just shot my first turkey today; a Rio Grande tom. I'm so excited to make my own wingbone call following your instructions. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
We don't even have damn turkeys here and I watched every minute of this. Very well done video! You stick to the common sense approach and answer questions that you would want answered. Excellent.
I started making wing bones in 2002 and I love them. Such a rewarding feeling to call a bird in with a simple call made from your own bird. I totally agree jakes are the best to use. Gobbles bones are a little to big, hens are little to small in my hand but jakes fit well and the sound is perfect.
Great video brother. Im a woodsman and have made things from hides, bones, skulls etc. Since I was a kid. This is my next venture. Thank you. You make excellent calls and videos!
Dude this is so awesome. I did my first spring turkey hunting this year and it was a blast. I wish i knew of this video before i disposed of the carcass after processing because i would have made one of these. Hopefully fall i get one in tge fall so i can do this. Awesome video
Great video! Thank you! I'm making two now but forgot to get the pine pitch I am going to use for the glue. But the bones are getting prepared today. Thank you again. Many happy hunting days!
Excellent video! This is how I made my wingbone calls. The only thing I did different was use a band saw to cut the bones. It’s quick easy and precise.
Nice dood. I just made my 1st one. Thanks for the intel. I love the idea of using parts of the bird to make a call. Love your videos and that you show the Highs and lows of hunting! Keep up the good work.
I know this video is 3 years old but in my house we have Thanksgiving the day after, and I was thinking about this video so I had to go find it and watch to see how the call was made. I'm going to try it. Thanks for the video Catman
I see 62 thumbs down. Pink panty wastes to be sure. Good thing most city shitters are not watching. There would be mass pass outs with great wailing and safe space retreats! Great video. I subscribed because you deserve it. Thanks!
Awesome video. I'm going Turkey hunting this year. We're using bow. Probably wont get anything. My best friend/veteran brother bought my permit to get me back out there. Thanks again great video
Good job, simple little project every turkey hunter should try. I made one from a gobbler my dad shot, polished it and scrimshawed it, framed it and gave it to him with a photo of the bird.
That’s a great instructional video. I have a friend who makes them also. If you’re only going to make one, your way is pretty good, but if you’re making a lot of them, I’d suggest using a Dremel with a flex shaft attachment. For glue I would use the UV Glue like dentists use. It sets up in seconds and no mess, no mixing, no waste. Again, a great presentation.
Thanks for posting the video. I have made a few out of 2020's. Then it lead me to your hunting vids along with Shane Simpson and THP's hunting videos. I am a jealous fan. 👍
I just got my first Turkey 🦃 ever this past Saturday afternoon. A Rio Grande killed in Texas, 20lbs. 10 1/2” Beard & 11/4” Spurs. I’m in the process right now of boiling the wing bones to make a couple of calls after watching your video.
Id use tree sap and that grass that grows on the edge of the river to bond them together very strong stuff and it adds to the all natural of it ill do it when i get my turkey this year
GREAT VIDEO ON HOW TO. YOU TOOK TIME TO SHOW/TELL STEP BY STEP WITHOUT RUSHING IT. WHEN I CAME ACROSS YOUR VIDEO'S ABOUT A YEAR AGO, MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS THAT YOU WERE A LITTLE RECKLESS ON SOME OF YOUR HUNTING TACTICS. THE FIRST VIDEO I SAW OF YOU, YOU SEEMED TO BE UNPREPAIRED (IT WAS THE VIDEO WHERE YOU DIDN'T TAKE ENOUGH SHELLS WITH YOU DEER HUNTING). SINCE THEN, IVE WATCHED SEVERAL OTHER OF YOUR VIDEO'S AND I'VE COME TO REALIZE THAT YOUR ACTUALLY A PRETTY GOOD HUNTER. I THINK THAT FIRST VIDEO I SAW, YOU WERE JUST TRYING TO GET IN A QUICK HUNT THAT AFTERNOON. I'M IN MIDDLE TN WHERE CUMBERLAND, FENTRESS AND MORGAN COUNTIES COME TOGETHER. WE HAVE SOME GOOD HUNTING HERE, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'VE GOT A LOT MORE GAME THERE THAN US. THANKS AGAIN, GOOD VIDEO !!!!!
First off, you look and sound just like the guy Cricket from the movie Lawless. Second, thanks for the video. Just made my first one today. Works pretty good, just going to take a lot of practice.

Great video young man!!! Happy to see someone your age carrying on a very old tradition! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That is the coolest thing that I have ever seen, making a turkey call out of a wing bone.
using the dead brethren to lure in the prey... savage.
Thanks a million, my dad showed me that 60 years ago, still have never done it,,,, I will tomorrow with my grandson
Cool my memories with grandpa are the best especially hunting
Did you ever get to do it?
good job passing it down

Sounds great! Glad you demonstrated it outdoors. I will have to take a closer look at your hunting videos and see what you did for a lanyard.
Thanks for this great video! I have always wanted a turkey wingbone call. I just shot my first turkey today; a Rio Grande tom. I'm so excited to make my own wingbone call following your instructions. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Very good video. I was looking for a good video to help me finish my wingbone calls. I found it.
Very nice, thanks for the video.
Guess if I want to make one this year, I'll have to buy a whole Turkey at the store.
MJ Hoss
Lol, you can buy a smoked turkey wing from the big box store .. I've thought about doin that
Allen Wilson - that's a great idea. Plus I can make smoked turkey soup. Minus the borax and dawn soap.
You are a pretty talented young man. I enjoy your videos.
That’s awesome! Love following your videos! Good luck and keep having fun!
Excellent video! This is how I made my wingbone calls. The only thing I did different was use a band saw to cut the bones. It’s quick easy and precise.

Did you cook the Turkey first then use the bones. I did that now there’s bits of bone marrow stuck to the sides of the bone
I see 62 thumbs down. Pink panty wastes to be sure. Good thing most city shitters are not watching. There would be mass pass outs with great wailing and safe space retreats! Great video. I subscribed because you deserve it. Thanks!

Great video. Thanks for posting. Always wanted to make one myself, now I know how.
I wonder who was the first hunter who worked this out & made one.
Louder than I expected
We will probably never know. Native Americans have been using this technique for a couple thousand years.
Awesome how to video . That call sounds great ! Keep on keeping on and Best of luck always and thanks for sharing your videos .
