Always nice to see someone else who keeps their pickups super duper low. The improvement in tone definitely makes up for the loss of volume. And great demo!
I know this a late post for me but better late than never. You have great sound my man. I just put GFS Gold Foil in a Tele build and I love the sound of them. I actually used Strat style instead of Tele. Good video.
Really nice demo. Quite the difference when these are in a strat. I'm thinking to pair a neck gold foil with a bridge humbucker for slide playing. Nice to see some good finger style playing too.
Very nice demo on the gold foil pickups. I really like the jazzy sounding chord progression you played. Any chance of you listing the chords you used. Again, very nice and tasty.
I would like to thank you very much for this demonstration clip. Just in order to let it clear: which pickup exactly did you get? The humbuckers (or singles in a HB shape?) with Alnico or Ferrite magnets, and what about the DC resistance? Sorry for so many questions, but I really love the results you achieved!
Thanks for posting this, I've been wondering how these stack up to original DeArmonds ever since I played an old beat up Harmony in a local music shop. Out of curiosity, do you know what value Vol/Tone pots you were using in this guitar? I've heard with 500k pots these pickups can tend to sound a little muddy.
Was that the same set you had in the Les Paul previously? Are they the humbuckers or humbucker size single coils? Alnico or Ceramic? They definitely brightened up in the strat from what I can hear. Nice demo!
Great video and sound. I was about to build a Partscaster with Texas Special p/ups but have now decided to go with the gold foil Which pickups are in your Partscaster? -GFS suggests 3 different sets of the gold foil for neck/bridge combination - 5.6k/6.2k, 5.6k/6.6k, 6.0k/6.8k

Wow! What a killer tone! Big single coil! These will be going into my HH Squier Mustang. Fantastic playing by the way!
Tell GFS to give ya a piece of the action ... 'cause ya just sold a set. These will be going into my Strat build.
Hi,
Lovely guitar sound.I LIKE it. Thank you very much.
Thumbs up!!
Best regards,
Dedstar
Beautiful setup those gold foils don't sound great in all guitars but you really have them dialed in, great playing!
We have a similar style. Wish you lived around San Antonio. Good sounds.

Thank you, one more time!
Suena muy bien, muy redonda.
Doesn't say if these are the ferrite magnet ones or the alnico V ones! Key piece of info MISSING!
Ferrite.
Could I shove one of these in a Tele bridge?
*Really great demo of some cool sounding pickups!
+h1pst3r88 Thanks for watching. I think they would go well for a Tele.
So what Gold foil pickups are these specifically?

No wonder you're playing sitting down. You've got no strap button!
