Ok, it doesn't look like anybody's answered your questions at the end there, so yeah, it started in 2016, and season 5 is indeed going to be the last season! The Duffer Brothers hadn't actually planned on developing things past season 1 at first (not with the same characters, anyway), but after seeing how wildly successful the show was and how loved all the actors were, they buckled down and planned out all the rest of the seasons, concluding with season 5. They did a really awesome job with the show! If anything, I'd say season 2 is probably the weakest season, but even then, it's still really friggin' good! Seasons 1 and 4 are my personal favourites, and I think season 4 in general is the overall fandom favourite so far. That's the generalized consensus from what I've seen, anyway. They really threw things up a notch in that season, and it makes me both scared and INCREDIBLY excited for the finale season, lol. I think y'all will have fun with this show!
Excellent comment! I wish there were more people like you in this Fandom who actually possess a brain. Seeing all these people going "Bravo, Vince!" for the duffer Brothers because they think _certain season 4 aspects_ were present in seasons 1-2 is embarrassing. They did not plan that far ahead back then
@@HamazuraGOD Lol, thanks! To be honest, I didn't know that the part about them not having it all planned out until after season 1 wasn't common knowledge, it's not like the Duffers haven't been open about that already, and it was one of the first things I learned upon entering the fandom, lol. I do still think they did a pretty good job connecting things to season 1 in the later seasons, but it's not that hard to see that it wasn't all fleshed out 100% from the get-go. Ah well, it is what it is. 😂
@@quilaviper For sure! The Duffers deserve their fair share of Bravo Vinces for their ability to Arc Weld things from earlier seasons into the new ones, and especially for being able to just make solid seasons in themselves. But they aren't Uber geniuses who made mad plans from the beginning. There is no one like that except maybe like Hajime Isayama but even he has admitted to coming up with ideas as he went. I'm gonna be honest, I'm of the mind that they didn't come up with the full storyline involving the V Man until Season 3. But if you can provide me a source that I'm wrong feel free to tell me.
@@HamazuraGOD Totally! They're obviously super talented, but no human is a perfect writer with perfect story foresight, lol. And yeah, I could see the whole V-man thing being more of an idea concocted after season 2. *[[IF THE OCTOBERS HAPPEN TO BE READING THIS CONVERSATION FOR SOME REASON, PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM DISCUSSING SPOILERS BELOW THIS POINT]]* I don't know if there are any sources that state otherwise, but the kind of vibe I got is that they were at first considering having more of the numbered kids showing up as their own characters/possibly teaming up with El or something, but after seeing how badly the Kali episode went over with the fandom, they might've changed course from there, I think. Idk for sure, of course, that's just the general vibe I got.
@@quilaviper [[SAME SENTIMENTS; SPOILERS AHEAD!! STOP READING THIS, OCTOBERS]] Yeah I personally wouldn't mind if Kali never ever came back, I'm definitely one of those The Lost Sister haters. To be honest I don't think I was really ever interested in any of the other kids and I'm glad season 4 literally starts with them all being killed (that sounded better in my head...). But yeah idk if you knew about this but many, many people in the fandom are convinced that you can hear Vecna's clock in the first three seasons and even SEE him in season 1. This is mad nonsense, at least when it comes to seasons 1-2. I do believe the clock in season 3 _could_ be Vecna's clock, but the only thing is that there's no reason for his clock to be chiming there.
@TheOctobersReact Don’t worry Mrs. October this show yes does have some scary moments but it isn’t a straight up horror series. It is more of an 80’s sci fi adventure series with some scary moments sprinkled in but they aren’t like every episode. I don’t know if you guys have ever seen The Goonies but this 100% gives that same vibe though a little more grown up and modern. And if my mom someone who literally got scared of the Munsters when she was a kid likes this show I think you’ll be perfectly fine. She of course struggled a bit during the more tense moments but the story, the characters, the relationships, the mystery, and just the fun moments all make the show super worth it. Trust us!

THIS IS ONE OF THEE BEST SHOWS OF RECENT SHOWS!! I can’t wait for yall to go on this journey :). Next two shows on the greatest series from this generation list is The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad.
They were playing Dungeons and Dragons. I was born in 78, so I am slightly younger than the kids would be in 1983 and that was basically my childhood if it started in 1987 instead. It is very much like that, and die rolls can get very intense :)
I haven't even watched the reaction but I am PSYCHED to watch your reaction to this show. Like every show, it has its ups and down but season 1 is a masterpiece, couldn't find anything to complain about.
Don't take the line Will throws Dustin about X-Men #134 as a throw way. That issue is the first appearance of Jean Grey becoming The Dark Phoenix. It is NOT just two kids racing over a comic - I'll say no more about that. The kids were paying 1st Edition Dungeons and Dragons. When video games were 8 bit, D&D is what we did for real fun. The show is largely based on Long Island's mysterious Camp Hero/Montauk Project and the MK Ultra Program of the early 1960s. See the films; "Fire Starter", "E.T." and "Alien" for influences here.
Yes, X-Men 134 is seriously important. I started collecting with X-Men 164 in August 1982 and went back and bought back issues at a local shop with my lunch money (I was in 8th grade). When I got back into the Dark Phoenix Saga issues from 134-137, those took a while to get and I had to earn extra money to get them.
@@ronhubbardjr2624 Awesome. I started in 1984. My mom used to get me comics for Valentines Day and for my Easter basket. She knew most of the A-list Avenger characters and of course Spider-Man. In 1984 she got me a few comics for Easter, she said they looked good because ALL of the heroes were on the covers. When I asked who the heroes were on one particular cover she said she didn't know them. What she got me was Secret Wars 4, 5 & 6. The issue I had asked about was issue #5. I've been an X-Men fan since.
@@ronhubbardjr2624 Yeah late 70s was peak X-Men, we had the best line up on the team and we had Claremont, Cockrum and Byrne. How do you out do that?! In the 80s for me I was all about X-Men, GI Joe, Transformers, Spider-Man and Daredevil/Punisher (pretty much top sales order if you include Simonson's Thor) for great story and art.
@@Tom-Mac1975 definitely! From their debut with Claremont and Cockrum in GS X-Men 1 & X-Men 94 in the mid-70s through Claremont/Byrne/Austin and then Cockrum’s second run ending in late 82 is hands down the best era of the X-Men. Simonson’s run on Thor was absolutely amazing as well.
In Steve's defense, he wants what he wants, but he actually does respect Nancy's boundaries. When they are studying and she shuts him down, he responds with humor with the teddy. There was no, "'You are not that hot anyway you frigid ______" stuff that he might have pulled if they were dating in the present day. He backs off and gives her space every time she asks for it, until she signals that she is ready. He is an idiot, but a mostly respectful one.
I hope this show softens you two up for some more horror. It's a great show. There are moments in this show where it's pretty terrifying, but there are films that are far, far worse. We'll get you there.
“Horror” is a broad genre, and everybody enjoys at least a part of it imo. Horror elements are in a lot of popular movies you see, regardless of if they’re “horror movies” or “horror tv”.

Some of the things you will realize are hints to coming scenes/seasons - especially when rewatching - from these episodes; the AV club - the entrance blanket blowing inward from Castle Byers when Joyce walked away - the talk about the water in the quarry killing you if you jumped into it from that height. - Edit: Forgot one; Lukas' mentioning of Pennhurst, the Mental Hospital in Kerley County. I'm so happy you guys are giving this show a go. I think it was one of my first comments I made for you, to please react to Stranger Things, back when you were just starting out watching GOT. So, Yay! 🥳 I think my favorite season is this, season 1, and season 3 because it just got really fun and very nostalgic for me, as the show started to resemble what I remember of my early childhood in the 80s. things look familiar cause its filmed in GA baby! just wait until season 3 yall will flip out if youre old enough to remember a location thats well known to us ga folks
Yep, downtown "Hawkins" is downtown Jackson, Georgia to be more specific. 🙂
I’ve watch all 4 season about 5 or 6 times already and it does not get old but I like to the expressions of those who are watching it for the first time, love your reactions
Welcome to the Stranger Things Family enjoy the journey
If you think this is scary just wait until later on 😂
it has heavy 80s vibes, Winona Ryder is in it a big time 80s star- dungeons and dragons games. freddy krueger pushed his face through the wall like that in a elm street movie.
Man the closed captions for this music is fantastic... Insettling synth music, screeching electricity.... Lol
@@quilaviper
For sure!
*[[IF THE OCTOBERS HAPPEN TO BE READING THIS CONVERSATION FOR SOME REASON, PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM DISCUSSING SPOILERS BELOW THIS POINT]]*
I don't know if there are any sources that state otherwise, but the kind of vibe I got is that they were at first considering having more of the numbered kids showing up as their own characters/possibly teaming up with El or something, but after seeing how badly the Kali episode went over with the fandom, they might've changed course from there, I think. Idk for sure, of course, that's just the general vibe I got.
@@quilaviper
[[SAME SENTIMENTS; SPOILERS AHEAD!! STOP READING THIS, OCTOBERS]]
Yeah I personally wouldn't mind if Kali never ever came back, I'm definitely one of those The Lost Sister haters.
That Tarantino joke hit me like a minute later 🤣
Yesssssssss one of my favorite reactors reacting to one of my favorite shows 🔥🔥🔥
@TheOctobersReact Don’t worry Mrs.
Trust us!
BANG!! One of the great epic series’ of our generation!
This is my favorite show I'm so glad you guys are watching it. I hope you'll like it as well.
I was hoping you guys would pick this up! This is one of the only “scary” things I actually like, so I feel you Mrs October!! The jumpscares can be a bit much but the story is good enough to endure!
YALL ARE NOT READY THIS SHOW IS LITERALLY NETFLIXS BEST SHOW EVER MADE THE NETFLIX CEOS EVEN DEEMED IT THEIR BEST SHOW EVER CREATED. SO YOU TWO ARE IN FOR A WILD RIDE I GOT MY WHOLE FAMILY TO WATCH ST AND THEY ARE OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW NOW. SO YOU TWO ARE GOING TO LOVE IT ALL THE CHARACTERS ARE SO LOVABLE IN THIS SHOW.
winona is just so good in this
Definitely subscribing ! I have to watch you guys as you fall in love w this series.
All new Stranger Things reactors: "People are saying this is a kid show"
*watches*
"...what the f***"
They’re playing D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) they create their own campaigns that they have to play thru! Truly cool game now and especially in the 80s
The fifth and final season is in the middle of filming right now and is expected to drop on Netflix around the Summer/Fall of 2025. Nancy was the name of the main character in A Nightmare on on Elm Street (1984).🙂
I'm so happy you are watching Stanger Things, I do love your channel. It will be a bit scary, but I think you'll find the story is too engaging not to continue.
Yes finally my favorite show ever
“El got squatter rights…she’s an ex convict” 😂 that was funny .
This show is so good... and it keeps getting better! 👾 Many thanks to Mrs. and Mr. October.
THIS IS ONE OF THEE BEST SHOWS OF RECENT SHOWS!! I can’t wait for yall to go on this journey :).
Next two shows on the greatest series from this generation list is The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad.
this is the best series. everyone talked about it till it was end of season 4 then i finally watched it and was hooked.
They were playing Dungeons and Dragons. I was born in 78, so I am slightly younger than the kids would be in 1983 and that was basically my childhood if it started in 1987 instead. It is very much like that, and die rolls can get very intense :)
Always love watching people getting into this show for the first time! It's an incredible journey you guys! Enjoy it (I know you will)
I'm so happy you are doing this series ❤ you guys are my fav reactors. I even have my mom watching your vids.
thanks to you and your mom too! you are awesome!
I haven't even watched the reaction but I am PSYCHED to watch your reaction to this show. Like every show, it has its ups and down but season 1 is a masterpiece, couldn't find anything to complain about.
The authentic chemistry between the characters really makes this show. Amazing cast.
@@Tom-Mac1975 it was always the X-Men for me. I did get into other Marvel titles but not as much.
Mr October thinking he knows where this show is going already is so adorable lol. Sorry mr October but you’ve got some surprises otw
So happy you guys are watching Stranger Things !
Heather Langenkamp plays the Final Girl Nancy in A Nightmare on Elm Street. So, were right on both names lol
I appreciate you leaving the mistakes in, cause it shows a little of your personality
We'll get you there.
poor benny got shot for being a sweet guy
OMG! I'm so happy you guys are a watching this!
“Horror” is a broad genre, and everybody enjoys at least a part of it imo.
Horror elements are in a lot of popular movies you see, regardless of if they’re “horror movies” or “horror tv”.
Rest east, you’re not supposed to understand anything much at this point. This show is FULL of AMAZING actors and character development. You’ll love it by the end of the season if not sooner. I’d put $ on it 😂
Just so you know, guys, as someone who grew up in the 80's, this is one of the most authentically 1980's feeling series that wasn't actually produced in the 1980's. It's like a love child between the works of Stephen Spielberg and John Carpenter.
And stephen king. It uses the fonts alot of kings books used, like firestarter. And the episodes are made to look like the chapter introductions.
This is your new favourite after GOT now. Trust us!
This is gonna be legendary 🎉
such a good series have fun watching it.
It's been a few years since I saw this too! Wow fantastic to re-watch it along with you guys, your faces really increase the drama. Thank yous!
Thanks for watching it with us! we Adore it.
You're gonna get anxiety, but KEEP WATCHING. This show covers EVERY emotion
one of my favorite shows ❤️ I hope you two enjoy the ride!
I love your reactions guys and I'm so happy that right after covering my other favorite show of all time (GoT), you're now covering Stranger Things. Such an amazing show. You guys are gonna love it ❤️❤️.
Yeay!!!
You guys are starting "Stranger Things" !
I haven't seen that series yet, so now I can watch it together with YOU! ❤
I could've sworn I'd heard Mr. October make a ST reference in a different video and I was disappointed because I thought you had already seen it. So happy you haven't and I can go along on this journey with you! One of my favorite shows of the decade! 29:02 You're thinking of Nightmare on Elm Street with Nancy, lol.
ive watched stranger things 17 times
definatly one of my favs
Yay! So happy you’re doing ST. Loved your GOT reactions💜
This series is the best show out there, especially s4
You guys will really enjoy this I think
Omg I just saw that you've finished the whole series until season 4 finale. I can't wait to watch your whole reaction while revisiting the show! It's crazy how everything progressed and unfolded!
I'm an 80's baby. The nostalgia is incredible. Nailed it
After GoT with you both (best series reaction to date), I am jumping in again on the ride here too! Cheers
Mrs. October has a good read on Hopper. He's a good dude and solid character. Like most of the characters on this show, he's kinda complicated, and you aren't going to like everything about him, but you'll like a LOT of things about him. But there's still a lot more to unfold. Obviously, you guys are only just beginning.
I just got done watching it for a second time, the show keeps getting better as the seasons go on. Especially season 4 IMO 💯💯
What I would give to watch this show again for the first time. It’s been years since I first watched it but I still love it sm. Season 4 was great and I can’t wait for the final season. (Also just very excited to see more people watch it for this first time!)
One of the best tv shows ever. The fifth season is supposed to be the last. Hope you get caught up before then.
So, Yay! 🥳
I think my favorite season is this, season 1, and season 3 because it just got really fun and very nostalgic for me, as the show started to resemble what I remember of my early childhood in the 80s.
Have fun watching this, it's an amazing journey - and bring out the box of tissues for Mrs. October for the end of season 3 and 4. ☺
Who was in a game you played?? David Harbour, the actor who plays Jim Hopper, plays the Red Guardian (Black Widow's father figure) in the MCU/the Black Widow movie. He's also known for playing the star roles in Hellboy and Violent Night!
happy watching! 🎊
lol.. it's 2024... and where I live... I ALWAYS leave the door unlocked!! Everyone on my block. I have known for over 20 years.. and we all have guns.. and ALWAYS keep an eye on each other!! :)

"I kind of understand the premise of the show, but I'm not really quite putting it together quite yet" buckle in for the next 4 seasons 😂
Great to be watching this series with you, as always love your reactions ❤😊
Can' t wait season 3 😍🤘🏻
It’s ok to not get everything two episodes into a show😂
17:50 there’s a few games that had a Stranger Things crossover but the only one I can think of with Hopper in it is Fortnite
You need to watch - "Dark" (german series) - is veeeeeery good!
Thank you for helping me rewatch GoT! I was about to restart this show myself but I think I'll watch it with you guys for now! You guys are going to LOVE this show, don't forget tissues!!!
What do you mean, what they're playing? It's Dungeons and Dragons!
really excited for yall to see this awsome series
definitely one of my favorite series
I binged this whole show the day it came out and then immediately started it over. This is def the best season IMO and I’m glad to see you guys keep going with it!!
I love your reactions and I am so happy you watch Stranger Things. Also I know it sounds crazy, but I have a feeling you will change your mind about Steve. Just guessing.
Just hope your Patreon people are smart enough to lead you to discover "Dark" one day.
i’m excited 😊😊😊 my faves for season 1 are joyce & dustin
The entire show imo is more of a thriller mystery than it is a horror. Sure, some parts are scary, but it just has many more thriller in it
I'm so frigging excited for you my fav couple to start this you are gonna love it.
Let's go, what a pleasant surprise 2 at a time??? ..been on ya journey through got and now hotd now another one..made my day love you guys!!
So happy to see you're watching this show. As others have said, the kids play dungeons and dragons and I also think you should watch the recent dungeons and dragons movie that came out.
All right, new reactors to Stranger Things. And I have seen your reactions before and you two are real good. I'm glad you are starting this series now, there are 4 seasons with 8 or 9 episodes per season with season 5 starting sometime soon. This series is great, sometimes a little complicated but your questions will eventually be answered. I'm looking forward to the next episodes.
