I thought that this "Works on all operating systems" was an overstatement, but then i tried it on Windows 2000, and it worked! So thanks for this helpful tutorial.
After watching a few videos on trying to solve this problem and those "solutions" not working, I gave up for a bit. Come back and see a 2 year old video that is straight to the point and fixed the problem, thank you very much!
Thank you SO much! Really helped me out! (Note: on linux, after you change to the bridge adapter, you might get a message in the setting Network tab which says something about NetworkManager error. I just ran 'sudo service NetworkManager start' and it worked)
After putting out a lot of effort, I came across this video. Worked flawlessly, and the steps were simple. The host OS was my daily driver Windows 10 x64 v 20H2, as usual. The guest OS was EndeavourOS_Atlantis_neo-21_5. Thanks!
Also, if you have some sort of access control on your router, it may cause an issue. Bridge mode makes it look like entirely new computer is trying to connect to your network. You will have to allow every VM you have created.
I did this on Windows XP. Still did not connect me to the internet, so I went into device manager and it seems like the Ethernet Controller does not have the drivers on Windows XP, therefore making this method impossible. If anyone knows how I can get these drivers that would be great.
Unfortunately, applying these changes made my very slow virtual guest internet connection virtually dead. The guest win 11 o/s still claims that I'm connected, but I'm not able to load up any web pages. Wait cursor keeps twirling.
Thanks for the video, but you change the main configuration of the VM, and bridge mode is not logical because it doesn't provide isolation.. That is why we need VM. I couldn't get your point.
those who are in 2023 and me too u are saying that it doesnt work i will show u how to fix no internet access 1 go to virtual box settings and go to the wifi 2 there is a bar that says connected to: pick the nat make sure your cable is connected click ok when start the machine if u go to explorer ti says no internet access 3. share the firefox to pc to virtual box setup firefox on ur virtual box when test youtube and when done u can play or watch youtube
