What a lucky daughter to have you restore a car for her. I hope she appreciates what a special job you've done for her. My car was my Dads. He sadly died in 2016 before I got chance to glean his knowledge from him. So I'm having to work all this stuff out for myself. From people like you John. So thank you for your continued sharing of wisdom. Always appreciated from me here in the UK.
Put a resettable fuse across the "kill" switch. When you leave the car, you can take the kill switch key out, but, the auxiliaries are still connected. (Make sure the amperage on the fuse is not too big, otherwise as I have found it can still start the engine and only trips when the lights etc. are utilised. Being an MG you have to mount the resettable fuse in a place that you can easily get at it.
Excellent to see you again John. I lost you for a while there and now have some catch up to do. Keep up the videos. Hello from UK with my MGA roadster and MG Midget.
I've always replaced condensers when I replace points but I recently had an issue with an old tractor that drove me crazy. Would run, but rough and no power. Turned out to be the condenser located in the magneto. I didn't replace it earlier because it required some disassembly and I had never experienced a bad condenser. But it got me good, so I know now its a good habit to replace them. But having a new one that was bad would have really fried my brains.
First time I’ve seen your channel and this is the first video. You come across as a nice guy and for that reason alone I’ve subscribed. I guess you know a thing or two also ! Best from sunny Ireland. Éamonn
It's actually a capacitor guys! It prevents arcing across the points because it passes A.C to ground but not D.C. Thus as the points open instead of trying to jump. the air gap, the route of least resistance [ so to speak ] is through the capacitor.
John, are you having your daughters car shipped? I joined my 85 year old uncle driving his just restored, rebuilt 1938 Buick Limited from Rice Lake Wisconsin out here to Southern California. Let me tell you, it was an adventure. Thank you so much for the MGB windshield bottom gasket advice.
British Leyland found that very few wires will conduct electricity, After something occurs that lets the smoke run out. (So; smoke must be a Non-Insulating Material.)
Radio? I could never hear mine over the exhaust in my ‘80 B so being non original item - to the bin it went. The exhaust tune is dead wonderful anyway 🇨🇦
Thanks for this video. I've been in process on a '69 GT but had a '69 roadster come my way and there wasn't any way for me to avoid buying it. I'm working to get it running by March 9th. Your videos are very helpful, and I appreciate the calm deliberation and good humor. Thank you. Spencer Klein / Klein Vintage Watch. ruclips.net/video/D_7kZDTRImo/видео.html

Another great video Mr. Twist! I hope you come up to New England for a demo or show soon.
Neither my 67 M.G.B. or my 70 G.T came with a radio......I was taught that you listened to the music that the car made.

How are you getting the car out to California? If you drive I sure hope you bring a camera. Would make a great RUclips video.
John,
The brand new condenser was defective. Interesting.
Your old condenser was probably good
