Thank you so much for this video. It shows me exactly what NOT to do when using this tapered Ecoplug. I had to order one (June 12, 2023) and was researching every video that was made on this item.

This guy did not do his homework before he used this product. I have these on two of my cars, one with an aluminum pan and damaged threads (required the tapered plug housing) and one with an aluminum pan and undamaged threads (required the non-tapered plug). Both work perfectly. Excellent product!

Man , that Ecoplug is the best. Stopped oil leaks and super easy to install . You bought wrong type and if you contacted Ecoplug , they would send you right one for free.

Dude what the heck is that rubber you put on the bolt threads ?? if your pan threads were damaged you purchased the wrong Ecoplug you should have purchased the TAPERED THREAD for damaged oil pan threads you purchased a standard grade Ecoplug for undamaged threads and than rigged it up with that rubber condem?I have been installing these Ecoplugs for years they are amazing it truly bothers me when people post inaccurate videos on real products that actually work. These Ecoplugs are a life-saver

Hey Johnny, from the video he shows the package of the thread and it does seem like he purchased the right one? I matched that package with the one on the ECO-Pug website and it seems very similar. I am going to buy this product as I also have an oil pan that has damaged threads. Can you let me know more about how this product has worked out for you? Would greatly appreciate it

@@syedasaad6180 Look closer at the one that was installed and then taken out. It's NOT tapered at all. See ruclips.net/video/eW_92t8POxk/видео.html
But the really odd part is the black stuff he used to seal it. Doesn't look like it has any thread markings at all. If it had been properly installed, there should have been some of the black stuff on the small end that wasn't hitting threads and would have been fairly smooth and then it should have gradually shown more and more threading and then it'd show some bare metal at the point of where it was making maximum contact.

You are using the wrong part. You need the part for damaged threads- tapered bolt.

Why would you purchase the incorrect Ecoplug jimmy-rig it and tell people do not buy?I installed Ecoplugs on 6 vehicles with good and bad threads not a leak in years. You should have called the company they would have helped you to purchase the proper Ecoplug

My eco plug did not leak around threads, but does have a leak around magnet even after purchasing a leak proof gasket that I bought separately from website and it still leaks.

I have a 98 Accord lx 3.0 L and jiffy lube striped drain plug and used a different vehicle plug to slow the leak. What do you recommend for a fix?

The cheapest way out is an oversized oil drain bolt. It should say on the head of the drain bolt. This guy used the wrong style ecoplug. The one he used is for UNDAMAGED THREAD'S. The drain bolt he had next to it is an oversized bolt.
