  • Matrix collapsible sidetray under review, we all use a sidetray of some kind or other to keep our bait handy and other items near by while we fish, so how practical is a collapsible tray and is it worth the £100 price tag? There are some point to consider before you buy one!

I was able to sort out the problem with the support issue
It's now without the 2 legs and can be now be used on any peg or platform

I swear by the Preston Ventalite XXL with hood. 2 connecting points and i use the support arm coming from the middle leg. No need for spare legs angled or not. Also no issue with the narrow pegs,

Hy , any update on the tray ? Can you use the supporting arm if you put in on edge frame of the tray? Also i was looking to get the matrix offset modular side tray 25mm legs(the Z shape ones) that would help with the problem

Hi mate, I got rid of it altogether lol, it was just too bulky for me in the end so went back to a normal side tray.....the offset legs are a good option though as the support arm just doesn't work.

Ave to knock up some sort of wooden frame to fit inside the tray then put the supporters under the tray as normal

It's an option but a faff lol, I'm still undecided on it for long term use to be fair

Just a question I thought you said you had a octbox
What made you buy the matrix comp

I had the Octbox for a while but I needed a box with a swivel seat and was offered the matrix box with one for a great price, so did a deal.

Try side trays UK they have curved support legs for the problems you mentioned.

I couldn’t cope with those legs on tray pal plus the size bulky carry it all the maver trays the new ones have the same self supporting knuckles as the octbox trays

Get the Preston one which attaches to two leg. The matrix only attaches with one and need the support legs which don’t wok on many pegs

Sorry mate looking like they have shut down. Get some tubing and find a plumber who can bend pipes.
