  • Ever want to disable the cobot's contact stop feature? Want your CRX or CR robot to run faster? Today's tutorial covers how. Note: please be smart and safe when making a cobot behave NOT like a cobot.

    We just got one of these, they really show how useful they can be. Per usual from your channel, this was just what I was looking for. I think I talk for all us Fanuc customers, your videos are so helpful and just enough of in depth that we can all learn something from each video. We really appreciate the time and effort that goes into all this, I hope you realize the service you are doing. Thank you, Adam!

    Adam!!! Your videos are the best. In some of your videos you have alluded to the fact that collaborative robots play different with payloads. I'd be so appreciative if you could do a video covering the subject. I am a new programmer using a CRX and I am constantly running into payload force warnings. Keep of the great work!!!

    Thank you for this Video. We have two CRX for maschine tending and this will help us to reduce cycle time. Greetings from Germany.
    P.S. I´m looking forward for more videos about the CRX series.

    Hi Adam, Great video. Hope you do more CRX videos. Big question: How can it be ok to use a NSI signal to control something that affects safety ?
    Also is it possible to make a video focusing on the DCS Safe IO connect screen ?

    • @AdamWillea
      @AdamWillea  Год назад +3

      Great question! You'll notice the input had to be dual-mapped, and is a password-protected change, followed by a power cycle requirement. As with any DCS setting (like safety zones, safe speed, contact force, etc) as long as the controls to set it up are password protected and dual channel protected against "fat finger" mistakes, it passes the OSHA/A3 requirements. It's sort of like using a GuardLogix PLC to mute/unmute light curtains.
      And absolutely I can make a video on Safe IO!! Thanks for the request!

      @@AdamWillea A few years ago I got fanuc C.E.R.T Certified through our tech center. We used roboguide and a book of tutorials with steps very similar to some of your videos. I think the book cover was mostly white and may have been printed our and hole punched. Any idea what that book would have been called or a link to it? I am wanting to go through the book again.

      @@ryanwilson1369 Yessir if you attended the Tech Center, that is the FANUC Training Curriculum manual. It's specific to training courses (as opposed to the programming manual). You can call your CERT school or the FANUC hotline and request to purchase another printed copy, and I think they can look up your records to see you passed the class. Good luck!

    Hi Adam! Thanks for the content. We have a CR35 in our plant and we are having some trouble when it comes to payload settings, also, we are having a fault that the robot moves to the opposite direction, for example the recorded point is to the left, and it goes to the right, then it stops until you reset it and confirm. At the faults lists it only shows up payload errors. Can you help me? Thank you very much. Hugs from Brazil!

    Random Question . I was asked to get backup of all robots in a new cell we are about to take ownership of. When I tried to get backup got message saying permission not granted. Got a separate message saying cannot copy files. Never have seen that and wondering if there are security setting where they have locked access?

    Adam,
    When you turn off the Force Sensing, does that also disable the Force Control function for phase matching purposes?
    Thanks!

    Hi Adam, when following the steps for a LR Mate Collaborative Robot I don't see the option for Safe I/O Connect in the menu. All I see is "Safe I/O Consistency Check" and "Safe I/O Device" - do these instructions apply to the LR Mates or is there a different process I need to follow?

    Great video. We just installed a CR-35. I am turning the contact force off when it is in a CPC zone. It’s still protected with area scanner. This was due to me getting a contact force message when the robot was in space not touching anything. Do you know what would cause this? The payload setting is very accurate, and it is not moving fast at all.

    • @AdamWillea
      @AdamWillea  Год назад +1

      The CR-35iA line is notoriously finicky with mounting/stability. Make sure the baseplate is leveled, and gaps grouted, as discussed in the installation manual. I've had plenty of headaches getting the base *just* perfect for these. Then, make sure you're allowing at least a 30-min warmup period before Confirming Payload. If all that is happy, you may want to chat with local FANUC team to verify sensor calibration. We have some test programs you can run.

    How can you adjust the sensitivity for payload errors and contact force? We replaced the Lincoln power cable assembly and went to a Binzel and I can't get it to rotate past about a quarter of a turn then it throws a payload error. I have changed the settings for payload on the Binzel torch and am having no luck. 2 Binzel reps were here and had no answers for me.
