Yes the LightBOT interface can call different preset or user preset LightWELD conditions within the robot program. The LightWELD has factory supplied presets for common materials and weld penetrations that are normally manually set with a two digit Alpha number code. These codes can be called by the Fanuc controller which changes the weld parameters within milliseconds. This same method can be used to call user presets from the LightWELD that a user can develop.
What is being used to trigger the weld cycle? Is the end of arm fixture squeezing the triggers or does the welder have I/O that can trigger the welder?
The Fanuc controller is firing the LightWELD system. When the unit is in co bot mode - a switch is toggled between hand held and co robot mode - and both triggers are held in closed position this allows control of the LightWELD from the Fanuc controller. You can switch from hand held to co robot mode in less than 5 minutes so "best use" decisions can be made. Hand held - co robot - or a combination of both. There are no physical alterations needed to switch between the two methods of LightWELDING.
can this machine change the welding parameters during the welding process? Could it do an assembly where by it welds different thickness of material and calls job programs accordingly?

Digital I/O
