No worries, thank you for appreciating them! It must be so stressful and disheartening, but don't let it get you down! At least you have realised it now, instead of at the age of 40 or 50, you have so much time to pivot, change your direction and make it happen! The great thing about graphic design is it can all be self taught! Do online courses, watch RUclips videos and do your own passion projects, You got this 💛😊
i don't know what is it about you, is it your personality or the way you explain things or your enthusiasm over your work but you just make me want to create something! i've never been a graphic designer, i don't want to be, i especially don't want to work with clients and I would say i have absolutely no feeling for graphic design. But i can't stop wathcing your videos! you just make me want to create patterns and logos and choose funky colors for imaginaly brands... what is this!? your chanel is so addictive in the best possible way! i am now googling what are submarks and secondary logos

Regarding the business card designs, 2 and 3 are great. I think 2 with the addition of the icons would work better. It allows the receiver of the card to easily identify the different types of info.
Now I feel like designing something too. Always happens after watching your videos 😂. Keep up the great work!

Great job on another amazing design! I really love the last design with the repeated pattern of the logo. I think a repetition of the brand pattern would look really cool for the business card to give more options and variation. 😊

I believe business cards are still very effective just in specific areas. For example it's will be much more effective to give for your clients business cards in specific stuff repair services/handyman services/electrician/vehicle mechanic and such a simmilar business. Yes business with finances are not that much into business cards (still could be used for phone numbers and etc for consultations)

Love this video always giving great tips on designing brands. What is the reason for the cards being larger than the artboards? Always learn so much watching your videos
Glad you enjoyed the video!! I always like to go outside of the artboards just to make sure I’m hitting the boundary! I think I’ve done it before where I used to stop dead on the line and from my eye it looked okay, but when zoomed in, it was actually inside it, so since then I just go larger! There’s also a 3mm bleed on the outer of the art board which you’ll see in the red that the artwork has to reach🧡

So I work alongside an editor for all my videos, he creates the presentation videos, he uses a mix between premiere pro and After effects 😊
How does your logos look so clean and pretty? when I make one, it looks unpleasant (even in black n white)
there's no magic to it, it's just consistency over time! Everyone starts out creating logos that aren't very aesthetically pleasing, it's just part of the journey, keep going and it will come and you'll grow and get better as a designer 😊

Thank you Karen 😊 So I just brainstorm for 20/30 minutes either on my own or sometimes I drag my partner in to help me 😂 I think it's always good to think about what the business does and their target audience before coming up with a name, I find it easier that way!

Welcome to the channel👋 So I have a team (I say team it's two of us, me & my partner) who work on the production of these videos, he edits them so he does the brand prestation videos. He uses a mixture of premiere pro & after effects, Hopefully I'll get him on the channel soon to give a tutorial. 😊
Business cards do work depending on your target market, all of the clients I have gotten needed business cards and my area of people are still a but outdated with technology... also the older crowd, likes the business cards....and my gosh these cards are so gorgeous.
Can you PLEASE explain the process of designing the cards do you use a variation of photoshop & illustrator? In envanto WHAT key words would you type in to find the cards that have the beautiful imprint? Looks like a 3D stamp..idk what it is called?
Completely agree! It all depends on the target audience! Thank you 😊 I actually miss designing business cards as none of my client base ever require them anymore as they are mostly online businesses. oo yes I can do an updated video on it! I use illustrator and only use photoshop for mock ups, and if you type 'emboss business cards' on envato, it should come up!

I have a plan on posting about my journey pivoting from being in psych sw to following my passion in digital marketing & branding.
I appreciate the transparency you did not have a “formal college training.” You really can do anything & become an expert if any field if you are passionate & driven. You are what we call in America “self made.”
A little back round I landed my first 9k contract as social media manager doing at a med spa,this year which sparked my attention to detail & creativity. To pivot to helping my clients plan strategically, because was one of the biggest pitfalls I had found with a client was, inconsistent brand identity & messages being conveyed to the their target audience…to having to pivot to do mini rebrands with them. I enjoy the design/ layout aesthetics more than anything to now working under my partner that went to school for graphic design which isn’t as passionate as me & his previous professor is able to give me critique on my work.
I would love to join a group if you had one that helped other gals wanting critiques or feedback on their designs!

I thought business card size is universal :D I would go for 93x53mm. I totally love watching the process. I hope you will have a lot of work to show this year. I would pick the last option you made and cover it with matte varnish. I feel like matte makes everything look more expensive even it is less shiny.
I think the size can alter slightly depending on location, but not too much, I do like a matte finish! But then sometimes I feel like a high gloss works well, depending on the brand! Thank you for your kind words and support!

Yes I think so, but if you know the printing company you’re using then you can double check with them!☺️

I wanna ask if the business cards include like many subsidiary company logo beside the main company logo is it possible? So i'm working the name card for my company right now, and my boss want the business card included the subsidiary company logo (there's 4 logo), and i'm confused to put them because it looked very packed in the name card. How's your suggestion? Thank you
Yes so I normally use the submark/icon logo variation on stuff like business cards and social media posts, don’t always need to use the main logo 😊

Thank you! Went to college but not university (I'm based in the UK, & studied graphic design at A level), I would say it's a mixture, you never fully learn design it's a continually learning process!
I'm posting this two years after the video but that's pertinent: WTF is wrong with Adobe? I used to be able to navigate around Illustrator in my sleep; I didn't even think about what buttons I pressed as I was zooming and moving, now Adobe has changed what all the buttons mean and deleted others! Even worse ,in Photoshop they deleted the highly useful custom shapes I could use to quickly prototype a design without having to make a f**king star shape. A-holes. I hate Adobe with every fiber of my being.
Oh, and on that point all the default profiles are gone, you have to download special packs to get just the basic features back. This is why I hate them: they're not making it easier to use they're making it more annoying because they hate my freedom.
