GUYS! - I REALLY need your feedback on this one! Did you guys enjoy this demo and find it useful? I'd love to do more, but that depends on if you guys want to see it or not! Let me know in the comments below! THANK YOU!
+1 for super ferrites (ferrite gang represent - it's a three knobber so it's passive) Darkglass does what it does best...the tone capsules are pretty rad too. IMO Darkglass and others need to get into the Synergy game and get their preamps into the platform, tubes or not it's about the tone prints...the only thing that I've seen demo'd that can get into the same space and footprint with the DG products are Seymour Duncan Powerstage line.
I have the darkglass alpha/omega 900 running into two boogie powerhouse cabs(a 4x10 and a 1x15). Monster rig in a small footprint. The gain/blend is foot switchable so you can click it on and off. The compressor is kick ass. Worth every penny.
My personal way to achieve HUGE bass tones is to use guitar amps. A clean amp straight to the mixer (line level) and a distorted sound through a guitar cab with a pretty aggressive high-pass filter to prevent it from getting too fuzzy. You should try it sometime! :)
@@Durkhead I'm using Archetype Nolly for my stuff. Extremely versatile and it sounds fantastic! Just gotta get creative with it and have some patience to fiddle around with the knobs :)
This is a great video. I'm surrendering lead guitar for bass and vocals for my friend's metal cover band and don't have a lot of leads into what equipment is good and affordable.
LIFETIME RECORDED EVERYTHING WITH A SANSAMP, Sansamp is where it's at. I thought my MXR Bass DI was pretty good and I'm am pretty happy with it but every time I hear a sansamp I'm reminded I need to get one. Thr sansamp just has that thick tone and when you turn up the gain you just get a nice growl with plenty of low end.
i play in a 'volume=tone' band with just drums+bass and when my bassist brought this thing to a gig, he didn't realize how loud it could be, and for the first song it was so loud that i couldn't breathe. these things roar. probably the only class D amps that have impressed me lately
Peavy black widow 15 18, and 20s used to be the rage for a lot of folks if they are even available any more!!!! Love you brother and have a blessed day!!
I’m a bass player, am a HUGE Darkglass fan and have been a fan of yours for a while. I own a handful of Darkglass products and while I think you could have done this demo a little differently, I understand you don’t necessarily think the way a proper bassist would. That being said, I very much enjoyed this video and I would love to see more bass oriented stuff on the channel. Keep it up brother!
I knew it was going to be a Darkglass from the thumbnail lol So much tone and power in such a small package! I'm a huge fan of their Alpha-Omega line and the cool interfaces they come up with
Darkglass Bass amps have a great tone going on imo. And yes every demo you do is informative, everyday player friendly and damn entertaining at times. Im no bassist but I do love bass tones and bass gear. Drums and key as well.
As a bass-hacking (18 yrs) guitar player (48 yrs) and original metalhead, I am very pro Darkglass. Thank you! Look at the e500 model…. Btw, you did fine. (Puppies r fun)
I play guitar and bass regularly so I am equally interested in both. I think that bass gear is a bit less visible and a bit less reviewed online. So, I enjoyed this demo and I would like to see more.
loved this, would really enjoy seeing you demo all of the bass heads at this price point. I feel like it would be great info for guitarist recording their own band or just them selves at home
I have a demon fx ripoff of one of the darkglass pedals. I think its the a7k is what I have. It sounds FANTASTIC. I'm not saying run out and get a ripoff. What I'm saying is the darkglass circuits are mindblowing. I'm really digging the amp in this video. Was considering this if I ever buy a bass amp again.
I miss a CE2 or any chorus on bass. Sounds awesome on the old Overcast Recordings. I have a Fender Jazz and a Squier Jaguar SS as well as my wall of guitar amps and an Orange Crush Bass 100 1x15 combo. Sounds awesome with the 4 guitar amps combined 😊
since you mentioned SansAmp .... if you want the best, most brutal , and by far ,most versatile pedal you could ever buy for bass ( live and recording ) the Sansamp DP-3x pedal is the shizz
i enjoyed the review. i would like more bass reviews. Had a dark glass version 1 but didn't like it, probably just user error. your video is making me think twice about getting another Darkglass head
You said you played Bass in Brother's Keeper! What's the story Morning Hoary? 😅. Also, how much is a base Synergy amp? If the pre amp modules aren't insanely $$$$$$$ I almost want one.
Are tracking and mixing two different animals? Everything I hear on my end from your demo shit sounds great. Curious how your local music project is going to go. Would be cool to document some of that and feature it on the channel man.
Hey man! Yes, tracking and mixing are 2 different art forms all together. Tracking is the process of setup and actually recording the instruments, whether it be direct, with microphones, etc. Mixing is the meshing of all the instruments together to not only make them sound cohesive, but to also make them sound better in most cases. The drums you hear in modern recordings don't sound anything like that in the room, it takes a lot of mixing work to get them like that!
I cannot find Jeff's RUclips Channel in the description. Add it, otherwise the shout out is a bit of... Half-arsed ;-) but I guess you just forgot it without evil intentions!😎 Demo is great, dig the mix in the front, and bass stuff is awesome.
I'm a gitter guy, but sometimes I become a bass-turd. This amp looks really cool. Edit: I just recently got the Two-Notes ReVolt for Bass, but now I'm wishing I would've gotten one of these. It just has so much more features.
For $4-600 get an 800rb. Good power, amazing tone and not super heavy. One of the most classic bass amps of all time for heavy music through the late 80’s and 90’s. I haven’t been impressed by any Dark Glass bass gear I’ve tried. Actually don’t care for their OD/distortion tones in pedals or amps.
honestly, my rig for years was an Ampeg b2re and a Sansamp and I felt like it lacked nothing. I love the Dark glass stuff personally, but like I said in the video, it stands along side that pushed Ampeg sound for the heavy stuff, not above it in my opinion
I don't know what it is but I cannot find any reason to spend money on a Darkglass. Maybe I am missing something but all the features they provide and sound:cost ratio just makes it really silly to me. I mean, I have an old Peavey amp ($100) and a Caline Wine Cellar ($40) and I can get most of the sounds presented here very easily.

Definitely do more! Expand your range!
Sounds awesome In a mix, very gnarly perfect the br00tal tones for slam and death metal!

Thanks for giving some love to the cavernous bassist community! 🤘🏼
Yes, more metal bass gear please! Some bass speakers demos would be cool, just to see how different they might sound.

@@Durkhead Unfortunately not :/ I really want one for myself but it's really hard to come across here in Brazil.
@@Durkhead I'm using Archetype Nolly for my stuff. Extremely versatile and it sounds fantastic! Just gotta get creative with it and have some patience to fiddle around with the knobs :)
I love the smalling packaging and huge sound.
Ooooo I hope you can expand into more bass head stuff!
Appreciate U
This is a great video. I'm surrendering lead guitar for bass and vocals for my friend's metal cover band and don't have a lot of leads into what equipment is good and affordable.
Oh hell yeah! Didn't see that one coming, but love the darkglass
That thing sounds awesome man. Thanks . The bass is what really makes the guitars sound really heavy in the mix so gots ta getcha pull on dat bass.

These amps are insanely cool. I got the alpha-omega since I already had a b7k pedal. It is the perfect bass amp for me.
What a cute puppy! A lovely video. Very informative. Thank you!

Class D’s nuts got eeem

I just realized I wasn't subscribed to you and did so immediately! Yes, your demo and all of your demos are very useful.

P J setup is my absolute favourite for metal bass. Growling monsterousness.
This amp and the quilter guitar heads have made "fly rig" options really great.
I also spot a second 7 String in the background. So glad to see you moving to the dark side!
Definitely enjoyed it. I play bass almost as much as I play guitar so I'm down with any bass videos you can throw out there.
Fun video! Thanks! Yeah, more bass content will be welcomed. 🤘
Cool! Great for your demos.

Nice to see you play bass and give it attention! Great work as always :)
Great Video! I'm also a guitar player looking for a Bass amp for my home recording studio. So this video is perfect for me. Keep up the great work.
Hot damn! I use the the Darkglass B7K plug-in for all my videos. Tough to beat Darkglass
I would LOVE if you would do more metal bass stuff. Your F**kin awesome.
Love the intro. Bass amp on…..no cable. Playing bass…..no cable. Dead 9V moment. Love your stuff Kyle.

13:45 what is that riff from? It sound familiar?
I love these videos. They are so natural and unscripted as they should be.

MY guy, thank you for the feedback! I didn't know the bass stuff would be so welcomed but I will def dive into it more!
First Fragments bassist Forest Lapointe just picked one of these up

That Amp Is Sick!
Somebody get him a doctor!
Sick nasty
@@JohnWiku Healthcare sucks, no doc for this Amp! Gotta carry on breaking bones for this sucker!
Peavey 5150 head does great bass too , just use a bass pre into the effects return .
That Jag bass had nice brutal sound! Wow! 🤘🤘
A little bit of Rancid which was nice! Overall I think the distorted tones would fit bands like Sick Of It All and similar bands.
Great vid! 24 bass guitars, 27 8x10 cabs and 32 bass heads coming soon…
You ever get to play a dingwall? The b string sounds insane on the longer scale
Now if only something like this existed for guitar...
F yes!!!! Bad ass fucking rhythm!!!! More of this please!!! I got the stink face!!!
Gotta have more of your puppy in your videos.
i enjoyed the review. i would like more bass reviews. Had a dark glass version 1 but didn't like it, probably just user error. your video is making me think twice about getting another Darkglass head
Nice video. But I have a non bass question. What are the 2 Dr. Z amps behind you in this vid??
One is the Z Wreck Jr, the other is the Maz 18 MKII. Both do the clean-crunchy thing INSANELY well!
That XDiscipleX t shirt tho. Erie HC is my favorite!
Now run ur pedalboard and heritage thru it. I also recommend a nice 2x15nor 4x10 cab.
That sounds like Tomb of The Mutilated/ The Bleeding era Alex Webster tone.
You said you played Bass in Brother's Keeper! What's the story Morning Hoary? 😅. Also, how much is a base Synergy amp? If the pre amp modules aren't insanely $$$$$$$ I almost want one.
I wanna hear that Dr Z!
Kinda prefer the Sansamp tone. but still sounds really good especially in a mix.

Demo is great, dig the mix in the front, and bass stuff is awesome.
I love how you use real cabs and not plug in and shit unlike pug ins but I'm old school ( besides this video cuz no bass cab)
Killer riffs! Made the drums I did sound way cooler!
What would it be like putting a guitar through it with an overdrive pedal?
man, no idea honestly, but you could use it as a MASSIVE power amp for a preamp pedal such as a Solar Chug or similar and it would be great for that!
@Kyle Bull maybe that would be cool to demo too
Fuck yea some bass love! More please 😃🎸
Transitioned from bass to electric guitar many years ago….get a classic Trace Elliot AH bass head and thank me later….great content as always bro
I'm a gitter guy, but sometimes I become a bass-turd. This amp looks really cool.
Edit: I just recently got the Two-Notes ReVolt for Bass, but now I'm wishing I would've gotten one of these. It just has so much more features.
Speaking of one amp ....Kyle ...if you had to choose just one amp ....out of all those killer amps you have .... which one would be....THE ONE !?!
As a guitarist I appreciate the bass content because I just have a shitty old no name bass I run through my guitar amp when I need to 😂
Wish he had hooked it up his 6 string regular guitar to see what it would sound like with.
For $4-600 get an 800rb. Good power, amazing tone and not super heavy. One of the most classic bass amps of all time for heavy music through the late 80’s and 90’s. I haven’t been impressed by any Dark Glass bass gear I’ve tried. Actually don’t care for their OD/distortion tones in pedals or amps.

cool
Even if you are a bass player, compressor still sounds good. Abolute necessity for metal no matter how good you are, IMO.
I'm so not used to seeing you with a bass guitar lol
I always look unnatural, but this just takes it to a new level
The only amp you are missing from your collection is a Yamaha Home Theater Receiver with built in BluRay player.
Incorrect, I actually own one! LOL
Rule #2!
I don't know what it is but I cannot find any reason to spend money on a Darkglass. No more bass
id start a new channel if you are going to do bass -
Appreciate the input man, but I won't be doing it frequently enough for that to really work
@@belligerentamateur got it - just my two cents.
It is definitely the best amp in your collection. Move on
I was gonna start watching your channel, but then I saw you play a bass with a pick. SMH.
